- My first visit to Dyfi and not going to lie its was scary and fun at the same time, but enjoyed the whole experience all the same, such a great day out with the lads from 'The Rides' Facebook group check them out 🤙

Good to see folk more my level riding Dyfi, looks like a good challenge, you've made me want to go a bit more, I was a bit put off by the size of stuff before but it looks fun!

All of it you can roll, I wouldn't be put off yeah some jumps are huge but they are all tabletops

Cool video! Race track is one of those tracks that is easier if you carry momentum which is sometimes easier said than done haha

Amazing and worrying in equal measure. Does look an amazing place to ride but is definitely a "need a bigger bike and more gumption" place i reckon 🤣. Great footage and you've been working on those transitions, mint 👍... either that or you messed up a load of landing 😂😂😂.
Yep scary and fun at the same time 😅, definitely 150mm min travel i would say, if I ever mess up or fall off they'll be in the video 😁

Dyfi and Whistler before I die. I’m 60 so there’s a good chance. So different from the dusty, stony trails of Brisbane. Much more elevation, too.

I get the feeling riding Dyfi is like driving in central London or Paris: Survive/thrive in that and you'll be able to drive/ride anywhere

It is mate yes, but if your new to Mtb i would go to bike park Wales first, there's something for everyone and even the blue runs are so much fun 👌, Dyfi is a bit full on to be honest

If that place had grip it would be miles more enjoyable. You just always thought you were going over every time you saw a rock, whereas in the peak you wouldn’t think anything of just riding over it.

@@Ruffest like what ?, I’ve literally just changed from maxis minion and agressor to magic maries front and back. The Marie’s are fine on loose stuff and have more grip on that, but have terrible grip on roots and corners compared to the old setup.
That’s the difference between limestone and gritstone!!
unless its dry, you can't brake on the stuff at Dyfi!

I find pushing that little harder & the bike just loses grip
Yes all of the above , but as for losing grip for me personally playing around with the tyre pressure helps
learn to pump, unweight and brake! you'll elevate your riding experience that way and truly start on easy trails to get these mastered. Lots of videos on youtube on all of these;).
the true factor lies in confidence. and you want to build that confidence by learning the skills. you will also keep yourself out of trouble because you'll know your limits.
(oh yeah bike setup is also a thing, but the best riders learned on the cheapest hardtails in my experience
