The dude on the piano though… Absolutely phenomenal.
The pianist is Seamus Brett. Emmet is with the Irish touring group Celtic Thunder and Seamus is their assistant music director.
Indeed!! Very capable and proficient. His key changes are amazingly smooth, almost effortless. Kudos to ALL!!
We sang this at my grandpa's funeral. The epitome of a first-generation Irish American--he was Catholic, laconic and a union man of unfailing progressive politics. He loved good laughs over stiff drinks, and could play every sad song from Eire if an old piano stumbled his way. I miss him but honestly miss my grandma more--the epitome of an Irish American woman--more devoutly Catholic than The Lord, more tolerant of my Grandpa's mischief than he deserved, until what he deserved was a boot in the gitalong, which he got and which left Grandma to the loving devotion of 35 grandkids, all of whom adoring her as the first, last and best rose any summer could have hoped for, and every season got: a steely blue-eyed daughter of Ireland, who in 1917 caught every rascally Irish boy's eye, and in her autumn of 70 years later, made every good Irish boy cry.
Emmet is an absolute perfection. Every song he sang is perfection and penetrate deep through ones soul. Love you Emmet.
The most beautiful rendition of this that I have ever heard. This is going on repeat today.
Undoubtedly one of the best 21st Century Irish tenor performing today
Nowhere near, gavin ring and patrick hyland are tenors, this chap has a beautiful voice but not in the others league
I'm Indonesian nearly 60 yrs old . I remember my mom used to hum this song when I was a child back in 70s . i really love this song
Thank you for sharing your warm memory. Some music is timeless and is without boundaries. The lyrics are by the Irish Poet, Thomas Moore, in 1805

AND I thought I heard two brothers sing ... with
a lovely woman and her lovely voice.
I never get that childhood feeling of scary fear ... this phone is doing it to me. It was hacked on s call with two other law offices. It was typing whatever it wanted. The other offices had their phones and email a week. My phone is such a JALOPYYHAT THE HACKERS HAD TO REPAIR THREE THIINGS IIN MY OHONE TO HAC!K IT!
I bet he could sing anything and it would sound good.
Amen to that!
Gorgeous rendition! I could listen to it all day! Greetings from Mexico!
thank you very much very good
I was lucky enough to see him preform at a local church. His version of Ave Maria sent chills up my spine!
IRISH TENORS PERFECT your voice is so clear - so love Irish music it's in my blood
The best version I've heard. Voice , phrasing, musicality, sensitivity, accompaniment...superb. Bravo!
I think this is the best rendition of the last Rose of summer that i’ve heard online period!
Nice to hear a singer who feels the music.
'Tis the last rose of summer
Left blooming all alone,
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone.
No flower of her kindred,
No rose bud is nigh,
To reflect back her blushes,
And give sigh for sigh.
I'll not leave thee, thou lone one,
To pine on the stem.
Since the lovely are sleeping,
Go sleep now with them.
Thus kindly I scatter
Thy leaves o'er the bed
Where thy mates of the garden
Lie scentless and dead.
So soon may I follow
When friendships decay,
And from love?s shining circle
The gems drop away!
When true hearts lie withered
And fond ones are flown
Oh! Who would inhabit
This bleak world alone?
I got back to my 8 or 10 years, playing that beauty on the piano, and singing phonetically, badly for sure.Fortunately there is a privileged voice like yours, that honors it.Thanks,Emmet.
Such a beautiful rendition of this song💕🥰🥰💕
You have such an amazing voice! It gives me shivers and makes me feel all the feelings! Keep it up. You are awesome!

EC can sing any music genre and it would be perfect - always!!!! Seamus is astounding!
I just listened to a bunch of other versions of this song, and this is by FAR my favorite. What a simple, perfect rendition. thank you!
Talk about God given talent we just heard it ❤️
We can surely use some good music in California.
Yes, indeed!
From a Californian who just wants to flee into the hills of Ireland...
Nice job for sure!! Smooth and such feeling. Wow!
Thanks Emmet for bringing this song back to me.
A beautiful voice
I was introduced to Irish music thanks to this song back in 2006 and have been in love with it since then! Beautiful rendition, your voice is so clear and moving... Love from France!
May the road rise to meet all of you, may our Lord meet you .

Beautiful! I listen to it almost every day.
Emmet is Celtic Perfection
What a amazing performance in this break world.
There is something about the Irish singing voice.
AMAZING ,💚There's a tear in your eye,
And I'm wondering why,
For it never should be there at all.
With such pow'r in your smile,
Sure a stone you'd beguile,
So there's never a teardrop should fall.
When your sweet lilting laughter's
Like some fairy song,
And your eyes twinkle bright as can be;
You should laugh all the while
And all other times smile,
And now, smile a smile for me
。。。。。。
And when Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, they steal your heart away.💚
I love your voice Emmet❤️
I missed you when you came to California !!!
John McCormack is smiling in heaven. Bravissimo! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ This is a poem by the Irish poet Thomas Moore. He wrote it in 1805, while staying at Jenkinstown Castle in County Kilkenny, Ireland, where he was said to have been inspired by a specimen of Rosa 'Old Blush'.
Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone;
No flower of her kindred,
No rose-bud is nigh,
To reflect back her blushes
Or give sigh for sigh!
I'll not leave thee, thou lone one.
To pine on the stem;
Since the lovely are sleeping,
Go, sleep thou with them;
Thus kindly I scatter
Thy leaves o'er the bed,
Where thy mates of the garden
Lie scentless and dead.
So soon may follow,
When friendships decay,
And from love's shining circle
The gems drop away!
When true hearts lie wither'd,
And fond ones are flown,
Oh! who would inhabit
This bleak world alone?
Such a beautiful allegory. A great musical choice for someone's funeral, for sure.
Chills all over! Amazing!
Incredible voice! Nothing as beautiful as a tenor and soprano!

Hi Emmet, could you please sing Bird without wings from Damian and George?
This is absolutely amazing! Such a powerful yet gentle voice! Does anyone know who wrote this arrangement?
👍🏻
💖💕❤️💖💕❤️💖💖
Who else found this from the walking dead?
Emit Cahill
I truly like John McDermott’s rendition, but I’m sorry but Emmet puts it to shame.
good job for a beginning singer. needs to work on his technique more. right now he's doing a kind of mumble-singing (too much interpretation and not enough actual singing). the right vowels and enunciation of consonants are needed. he's got to open his mouth for the sound to come out.
