mine doesnt have the clip to open it and doesnt appear to open also the pump thing, is mine faulty?

How many cms roughly do the bags shrink inwards once vacuumed? I'm trying to decided on the right size bags to fit into my storage boxes which are 58 x 42 cm?

I never measured it but its a good amount as you can see once we vacuum it.
