- The Stour Valley Line is part of the West Coast Main Line between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton which features a mixture of Train Operating Companies on this stretch. The aim is to visit all the railway stations or Train Stations along this section but also took a detour to look at the Birmingham Canal as well.
The Railway Stations are featured are, Smethwick Rolfe Street, Smethwick Galton Bridge, Sandwell and Dudley, Dudley Port, Tipton and Coseley but also riding plenty of Class 350 Desiros.

Great vlog Simon. I’ve visited most of these stations now except Coseley. The Birmingham canal looks stunning. I enjoyed watching as always!
This one is very much my patch having commuted on this line for many years until 2019. I loved the excursions around the canals. I guess a 30 minute headway gives that opportunity
the Stour Valley line is a lovely line to ride which ive ridden loads of time mostly on XC Voyagers not stopping at any of the stations between Biringham & Wolverhampton & the Birmingham canel looks amazing and lovely to walk along on a lovely say brilliant vlog
You certainly cram in a lot of information into your videos, with facts and figures. This is great, as your viewers are learning while watching .
Keep up the good work.
Regards from Whitley Bay!
Lovely video SoT, I loved that “Cathedral “ bridge. Thanks for bringing us this lesser known line, to us Londoners
Glad you managed to visit all of these stations on the Stour Valley line! Goose Spotting for Sprinters and Flowing water friendly for flowing water enthusiasts.
Another great video Simon all the stations look decent and some of the surrounding areas do to. 👍🏻
Really good walk along the canal, with some very impressive bridges. Good information about the low level platforms as well
Thank you
Great vlog/train video
Thank you
No problem
Brilliant video showing us the stations on the Stour Valley line Cyber. The only station on the line I've got off at between Birmingham and Wolverhampton so far is Smethwick Galton Bridge, I'll have to try out the other stations on the line sometime. :)
Great video Simon!
It was a good idea to include the canal stuff, the format works well.
Instrumental music is better. 🙂👍
Thanks Ian. The Canal stuff was a idea when I did the Circular Journey when someone commented that they would had see me mentioned something about the Canal in that video. So this was in the thinking stage at the time and decided to put the Canal part into this video instead.
Looking good mate and it won’t be long til we will see them 323s and the 350s on their way out
Thanks for this trip along my local line 😁
I've travelled on that line lots of times. I remember when the Class 323s use to travel on that line, they were on routes from Wolverhampton to either Coventry or Walsall via Birmingham New Street.
Great video Simon. Thank you for showing 👍
Nice one Simon very informative thank you
Looks like you had fun Simon
Excellent video, Simon, and I liked the mix of the railway footage and the canal footage! Nice to see the Metro extension reusing some of the old railway infrastructure. I often hear Sandwell & Dudley announced as a calling point on the Avanti services from Edinburgh, so it's good to see what the station looks like!
i used wolverhampton station when i was travelling down to oxford. from edinburgh when it was still virgin
Great. Thanks. toronto canada
Great video - I especially enjoyed the section along the canal - definitely showing off the Venice of the Midlands!
You did well to get so much into one day. There were other things on that route but that would have been a two day event.
Great video and nice to see some of the Birmingham Canal too. Have you walked the Coseley tunnel, its on my list to do on the line.
Think we're going to start calling you a canal vlogger with all of the times that you have seen that canal sir
London Northwestern Railway could keep some of the Class 350/2s that would be used on the Chase Line and Wolverhampton-Walsall line.
It been confirmed that the Class 730/0s will be working Walsall to Wolverhampton and Rugeley Trent Valley to Birmingham International services when they enter service
That's good. 👍
@@Sim0nTrainsthey need to test the chase line before they enter service on the line.
@@dukeidehen08 They been driver training to Hednesford this week but this is for training the instructors so they can train the drivers
Could you do a place journey please
Could you do a plane journey please
Honestly.... no, reason is that I never ever flown in my life. BUT if I did in the future it would include it as part of the video rather than focus on the plane journey itself, like the Isle of Wight video I did last November, I added the Ferry crossing into the video when visiting the Island to venture on the Class 484s. It's a no for now but don't rule it out.
@@Sim0nTrainsWill you be doing Heathrow to Perth Australia Simon?
