I'm so sad for the people in North Korea, it sounds like a horrible place. My dad was a POW guard during the Korean War. Many people fled from North Korea to the South during the war.
My dad wanted to adopt a young boy that ended up being a 'camp boy' that helped tidy and washed clothing for the soldiers. On return they were given food, clothing and a place to sleep that was in the soldiers tents. The soldiers mostly were happy to have them around because they missed their families, and they would teach them games like American baseball. They found one young boy's mom on the mainland, but couldn't find any family of the other boy. My dad wanted to take him to America, but my dad's first wife said no even though she couldn't have kids. All the kids that hung around watched cowboy movies that were shown in the camp, and they were given sodas and popcorn to snack on while they watched. Even if they didn't understand a word, they were excited all the same. The adults would get as close as they could to watch the movies as well. It seemed like watching movies was the delight of their lives... something that Americans take for granted.
My dad finally found and older couple that would take him on as their 'grandson'. My dad bought canned food, clothing, and school supplies to help the couple out. The boy was delighted to have 'grandparents', and they were delighted to have him. My dad would visit and the boy would show him his schoolwork and the soldiers were teaching him English. I even have pictures of him that my dad took. I hope the boy had a long and happy life!

As an American, I find it satisfying and reassuring when North Koreans look at the US military and see just how powerful it actually, and when they look at US culture and see that it’s exact opposite of what they were taught in North Korea. As he said, in North Korea, Americans are seen as barbarians, but what North Korea and really most of the world don’t see is that when the US goes to war, the military does what it can to minimize civilian casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure. Something that is overlooked most of the time with our war in Iraq and Afghanistan is that the military actually to better infrastructure of the 2 and actually help the people. That’s actually a weakness of ours, our military tries to help countries and avoid civilian casualties, but we keep fighting people who exploit that. But one strength our military has that would shock the world if everyone looked at it is our logistics. And not just logistics for fighting a war, but also logistics for providing aid to civilians that need it, logistics to bring in supplies to rebuild. My uncle was in Iraq with the Marine Corps, and he told me a story how he was at a base that was within view of an apartment building. On a frequent basis, US artillery would have to level that building because Iraqi snipers kept using it to shoot inside the base, and US combat engineers had to keep rebuilding it.

That despite all the flaws, America is still a light in this world.

I personally hope that my Country does what it's supposed to do, uphold the freedoms of everyone everywhere. But at the same time, we tend to do stupid shit. Like housing prisoners AND torturing them in their own country. Or, going to war for almost no reason at all really. Saddam Hussein was an Autocratic prick, but there were no WMD's in Iraq. It's just so fucking frustrating. And our bloated government is not helping things domestically that much either, but at least we're not fucking Nazi's or Communist's. Even if some people some how feel like either of those things is a good idea.

@@leechrec The US was born a nation that had to overcome the greatest imperial power the world had ever seen to that point at great cost to achieve independence. That is firmly fixed in the history of the nation. Pressure from the US government was one of the most significant factors in the decolonization of India and most African nations. The reasoning behind it was simply "We were a colony. We don't like colonizers. If you want any help, grant them independence without war".

50 years ago, I was in the US Air Force signals intelligence command. We had a teletype machine tuned to the North Korean news service and it was insane what they transmitted. Stuff like: “the American imperialist criminals and their running-dog Japanese lackeys were sent running by the brave sailors of the People’s Navy today…”
You could easily tell where South Korea ended and North Korea began simply by looking at a satellite photo of the peninsula at night. The North Korean part was completely dark at night, while the South Korean part was lit up like a Christmas tree. It was hard to tell where North Korea ended and the ocean began.
The Pueblo was a spy ship - it was not equipped to fight as vigorously as a regular ship. That is why they were able to capture it when it accidentally strayed into NK waters over 50 years ago. Its job was to pretend to be invisible and just listen to our opponent’s communications.

The amount of times that I've wanted to hug all of these people for their hardships is just.. ugh. I hate NK's leaders.
Also, as far as I know, the US military defends our country instead of going out of their way to destroy others. Our military are our "protectors", if anything.

I lived in South Korea for 17 years and speak Korean quite well. North Koreans speak with a strange accent and use an old vocabulary, some of which I have never heard. This guy uses perfect Seoul dialect and accent. I don’t believe he is really from North Korea.

      Who are you talking about??
North Korean defectors who appear in interviews are famous ones who have already appeared on South Korean television frequently.

The second group uses a nearly perfect Seoul accent. But it still has a North Korean accent.
None of those people have a Busan accent.
I'm a South Korean and I've lived in South Korea for more than 40 years.
Do you want to believe that the interview was a hoax? Then you can believe that. But there is no Busan dialect.
You are similar to North Koreans.
In terms of being deceived by what they believe they know.

The seem suspiciously not North Korean... as do all their other videos... The accents sound like they're just trying to do some country version of the Seoul accent. Could be wrong though I wasn't born there.

NK is just a pain in the ass. The US would prefer that Korea unify and prosper as a country and get along with the rest of the world. We really would prefer that everything was peaceful and fair but there are some shit head countries out there, like China, Iran, Russia, to name a few. So practically we have to deal with them because none of their neighbors are actually strong enough.

Are these people come from North Korea? How did they escape from their tyrant country? 🤔

    • @yjchang4226
      @yjchang4226 Před 10 dny

They usually escape through the border with China. There are also professional brokers who help them escape.
In such a case, it takes months at least and years at most.
However, among the second young men, the young man wearing sunglasses escaped through the armistice line while serving in the military.
He took advantage of a brief break in the high-voltage line due to the typhoon.
So it took just one day.
Hundreds of people are escaping a year.

Ask yourself this, if you were such an unstoppable army…. Then why did it take 300,000 Chinese troops to fight your way to a cease fire? Korean troops were a non existent force after the Inchon landing. Facts children facts

Dude, quit being an ah. North Korea's citizens - including its soldiers - are shielded from historical facts. So if you have no other (factual) point of reference, and you're cut off from information sources why wouldn't you believe what you are told?
      You seem arrogant and myopic.
