- I've been building tracks and jumps for as long as I can remember, from BMX jumps as a kid to Backyard RC Tracks on my own property, I love moving dirt around and building jumps and berms that are a blast to drive and ride on! It didn't take long after we moved into our house in 2020 to get started on the first track, and before I knew it we had a couple awesome RC tracks!
Having your own track makes getting practice laps in easy, and I enjoy running at least 2 to 3 times a week when my tracks are dry! I've also been super lucky to have the space for multiple tracks so there is always something to run or if I want to change things up we can just run on another track! You can bet we'll be having fun on our tracks for years to come.
The RC cars featured in this video are:
LC Racing 1/14 Truggy
Tekno SCT 410.3 - Short Course
Tekno ET410 - Mini Truggy
Tekno EB48 2.0 - 1/8 Electric Buggy
Feel free to comment if you have questions about cars or tracks! Support your local hobby shop if you can and grow the hobby!

People don’t understand how fun racing these cars can be. I remember going racing with my dad every weekend. So much fun. Your builds are great, keep at it!
They're definitely great fun! I just did a video of a long 3 day race weekend.
Can I come over ?
You smashed the goal, my guy! As a fellow former dirt track driver, this is what it's all about for me. The last track is by far my favorite on the whole CZcams platform. Bravo!
I love dirt racing man! We've been on my oval since it's gotten warm. Having a blast battling non stop with the track changing every pack.
I just love dirt! Having to adapt to a changing race track is so much fun and satisfying. When it starts to rain we'll be getting back on the Offroad stuff. I want to see if the pro moto from losi will get around the big track
@TheRacinJason why do u prefer Short Course trucks I really want to understand what is the upside to short course trucks pls ?
@lobitosboxingbreakdowns3581 when the jumps aren't too big they're one of my favorite to drive because of the way they handle. Can back em into corners and have to control them more in the air. Also been the best car on my small oval... and a big part is when you race them you can run side by side really well, rubbing is racing. Unlike with open wheel stuff you don't flip when you touch tires, so we can race harder on my short tracks.
" we have 2 more tracks to show you " the kind of sentance you love to hear, awesome property !
Yessir! Built another one just for mini stuff, 1/14 scale
@@TheRacinJason Nice ! Enjoy !
Wow! Great reward for a whole lot of effort. Congratulations!
Keep up the good work
Lol .totally badass tracks man
Recently subbed! Awesome to find out about the 1:1 winged sprint history, as well as DirtFish! I’d have to say that out of all the backyard Tracks I’ve found on YT, you, and the fella in Jersey with the “Backyard RC” channel are easily the top two. It’s been about 15yrs since I did a 8th scale off-road track here in NC, but I just have gotten back into RC, and you and his videos have me stoked af to get going on my current trackless backyard! Love the content buddy!
Glad to have you man! Appreciate the love, and good luck with the track and getting back into RC. Did you pick something up yet?
I'm just about finished with a layout change on the big track and put up lights. New video coming next week
@@TheRacinJason absolutely brother! -and yessir; I’ve got a Tekin outfitted Tekno ET48 2.0, a Reds Superveloce/Savox equipped Tekno NT48 2.0, and a Reds Superveloce/Savox equipped Associated RC8b3.2-all Futaba controlled. My girl is running a fairly bulletproofed Arrma Talion that I went through with all RPM plastics, and M2C chassis, steels, and billet goodies. I also dumped and shimmed the diffs, re-did the shocks, and tossed in Castle motor, and ESC, a nasty Savox servo, and running Gens Ace “bashing” 6s packs. Will be stepping her up to Futaba here shortly as well.
My deck is centered off the back of the house as a perfect drivers’ stand about 6’ higher than the backyard, and the yard itself is approx 160’ wide, and about 80’ out… I swear it’s about perfect for a medium sized 1/8 off-road deal with 10-12’ lanes, some crossovers, plenty of jumps, and a good straightaway-all while flowing real nice.. I’m pumped man! I appreciate the reply as well sir!
Don't have enough experience to say the best, but definitely a great track.
Great work! Very impressive.. the fact that you have 3 tracks puts you up there in my opinion… I haven’t ran my RC in to long this is inspiring… I’ve always wanted my own track
Appreciate that! Should build one of your own
Totally awesome, the elevation changes are great! Your the cats meow with the hard work you've put in, GREAT JOB!!!😮😮
Really appreciate that! Lot of fun running on all the tracks. Just added a mini track for 1/14 cars. That one was pretty easy compared to the other two off-road tracks
Love it. Mine will be done in a
Month
Awesome! What're you gonna be runnin on it?
love what you have done
Thank you! Definitely a passion project. Been living on the oval these days when it's too hot to water the bigger tracks
@@TheRacinJason for the longest time I always seen your shorts Of the first track, Glad I seen this video 🤙
@THERCDOCTOR just had to
Subscribe! Glad you like the tracks
Looks awesome, great job Man
Thanks, much appreciated!
Bravo Racin Jason 👏 appreciate the behind the scenes footage and breakdown
Follow up- those are some top-tier backyard tracks you got too 👍
Thank you! Appreciate the love
You did a very good job of building the 3 tracks in your veido, I like the 1/8 track ,no wonder your a good racer
Appreciate that!
Nice job on the track and vid! Red clay is highly sought after, but I’d take a few loads of that Pacific Northwest dirt any day!!!!
My dirt is great... only problem with my dirt is it has lots of rocks in it up here on the hills.
Really enjoy your videos. Like the 3 tracks and enjoy the layout of them. Might inspire me to make my own..👍
Thanks Peter! I'd consider that a job well done if you want your own. Do you have an RC car?
@@TheRacinJason Yes, I've got more than I should have!😆
Perfect!
Me and some buddies just got into short course. Building a track right now. Thanks for the videos
Awesome man! What're you running?
Just picked up a used 4x4 senton blx. Sounds like you know my buddy Travis and have been talking to him about track building and stuff.
@darrick1395 ya he showed me your track! Definitely come by and check out my place. Would be cool to get a little multi track deal going with a good group of guys
This is so cool man! I love thé work you put in it too! Do you think you could make a vid of what you need to make your own small track?
Actually planning to do a build video this week if the weathers good enough to film outside
great work there mate your tracks look awesome great advice, I'm building an RC track 20 X 15 meters what is the best surface to use?
I like real dirt myself but depends what you have access to! A lot of people want clay, but I think a dirt clay mix is a little easier on tires especially if you can keep some moisture in the surface. Dry clay eats tires
THIS IS RAD!
Thanks man! Definitely a labor of love, been puttin in time and work on the oval lately! Hopefully get a handful of trucks on it soon
@Racin Jason I have a handful of rigs, where are you located?
@@chaoticadventure what do you have? We're about 40 min east of Seattle
Super awesome! We got two tracks of our own and I have watched your videos before to get a couple ideas! How do you keep the 1/8 scale track from from growing, do you like spray weed killer? Also saw where you had a joker lane in your 1/10 scale track, did you like having it? It was it a waste to make?
Joke didn't get used much... I liked it and I wouldn't be opposed to opening it back up if we have a race.
I try to spray but usually resort to raking a little and running up it. And I broom the parts where we don't touch the track with the cars
@@TheRacinJason I gotcha thanks for the info, where I’m from our ground all year grows those wild onions like crazy, I could prolly spray all year. Keep the videos coming man, they are great, thanks again!
What snow tires would you recommend for an Arrma Senton?
I'm gonna guess a paddle in the rear and some sort of of in line front tire like a Mohawk up front to help steer! Not sure exactly what that is but I do know there are paddles. I've never had a snow dedicated water resistant car so never played with tires for the snow. Most will work though if you don't want to go above and beyond tire wise
Some of the best tracks I've seen! Please let me know if there is a race held.
Are you local to me Peter?
@@TheRacinJason Yes, I'm in Mukilteo.
Nice, I've been flyin over you for a few months. But we're out on the east side
Badass track, pacific NW?
Yessir. We're east of Seattle
Impressive track build. I have just started in the hobby and have my eye on an over grown section of my property to convert into a 1/10 scale track. Any advice on dimensions I might start with for 1/10 scale.
All depends what you're working with. If you wanna get something going quick you could build an oval and then branch off for Offroad. If it's just for practice and the area is limited keep the lanes tight so you get a decent layout.
How much space do you have
@@TheRacinJason I’m not quite sure yet. There are some wet spots that I’m still evaluating for usability. I’m hoping to get at least 50’x60’ cleared. I have a small tractor I’m using for clearing so it takes time. I’m in the northeast so winter is slowing things a bit.
@@ndipuppo nice! What car you running. 50x60 for 1/10 should be a pretty good track
@@TheRacinJason I’m building a TLR TEN SCTE. I’ve also been racing a Losi Mini B at the local hobby shop carpet track. I’m hooked and looking to improve with my own track. Your driving tips are excellent and I look forward to more.
Appreciate that brother! I love running short course on my home tracks. So fun when it's a little slick and you can back her into some of the corners. One of my favorite RC's for sure
Hi. How Wide should the track be or the lane for a 1/10 scale
I think 6-8 feet is good enough for 1/10... if it's just a practice track nothing wrong with a little tighter lanes to make you be precise. If you're gonna do some racing I'd lean towards the wider side.
What cars are you running?
Got some team associated b6 and b5
Thinking of getting some 1/16 team associated also😀
Thanks for the info... I've been wanted to do this for years, and this season will be it.... I am tired of the weeds in the backyard anyways 😀
Awesome! Ya those lane widths should be great for 2wd buggy. I've got some spots on my 1/10 track that are probably only 4 feet and the short course gets around it fine. Can get the 8th buggy around it too... I think some people over do lane width on their home tracks!
I could just camp there
What ya think of the track in my last video?
Nice track! Got some good flow and well placed jumps as well as nicely built jumps. Good job
you ever let locals run on it?
Haven't really yet... would like to start putting run days together.
@Racin Jason if you want some smoke let me know
