I am from Kolkata, the one who was arrested in name of culprit it is suspected that he is just a scapegoat(Bali ka bakhra), as the citizens were protesting ,to stop that he was arrested. Maybe he is a culprit but he is not alone , according to the Post Mortem report the girl was tortured by many, and he is one of them. The other unknown names which are involved maybe they are more powerful than him so he is arrested.

The Nirbhaya case happened, so so many other cases happened , kya badla? Nothing! We have normalised this, think about this, we have NORMALISED this shit, it starts from Eve teasing, then stalking, then groping/touching and now this. The problem I feel lies HUGELY in the psychology of such criminals, they don’t have proper livelihood, education, morality,etc..this builds a very questionable thinking, my opinion is that such people must be identified, and properly treated before such crimes even take place, gather a team of talented psychologists and psychoanalysts, identify people who are capable of doing something like this,justice in such cases can never be obtained I feel,the only best thing to do is, make sure that something like this never happens again.Strength to the family🙏

I’m glad that at least one influencer out here is highlighting this incident and has guts to talk about it. This happed four days ago and up until yesterday no one in the media was talking about this heinous crime that occurred. Not even a condolence tweet from the government was issued. It was just being discarded had the doctors not protested nothing would have happened. As a doctor myself I’m aware of how much of hard work we put in into making it into residency, she spent 10 years of her life in this profession maybe more and all her dreams and aspirations were choked out from her in the most heartbreaking way. She was the only child of her parents. I can’t even fathom what they must be feeling. I hope and pray that she gets justice and the culprits are caught, if not we have failed as a society. The hands that heal should never bleed.
