I couldn't stop smiling as I watched this video. I love these people (the Amish) dearly. I have always loved the Amish life style. I have been praying for years for their salvation. I am overjoyed to hear their testimonies which is God's answer to my prayers. Their testimonies made me fall in love with God all over again.

I love this family and welcome them to the family of God! I have always been intrigued by the Amish lifestyle, simple, hard working, doing no harm to Mother Earth, living closely with natural ways which I believe God intended. Worldliness set aside, with great morals, integrity and the love of truth, solidified with obedience to Gods will. I would love to meet your family and learn from you as Amish even though I am Adventist.

My Baptist Church goes according to the King James Bible. When I was a child we lived on a farm. Raised all our food except Staples. We cooked with Butane. Used coolers for air conditioning. Because of sand storms. We spent our life running from sandstorms. Bringing in the laundry quickly. Running from tornadoes. Going into a nearby basement. That was the goodtimes.

And I thought it would have been nice to be a part of your community provided, you're not racially biased....we are supposed to live a clean and simple life, amen?

  • @jocelyncumberbatch9348

This program was done 2years ago but I'm seeing it for the first time.
What I am impressed with Shelly is that you left out the special music so that we can get as much as the story as possible. The music is very often repeated and can be heard at any time..some times we tend to this we have to follow the program, their testimony is so much more important. I'd very much like to see that more in the little time we have to hear testimonies like these. So many people out there are to be reached and that couple seconds of sharing is so valuable.
I have tried to share with the Amish once while in Philadelphia and it sure isn't easy to reach them. Thank God for the Avenues that He has opened for those in the valley of decision to be reached. Blessings to the 3ABN family. 💕🇧🇧

As much as I know the Amish believe in baptism by emmersion and that is accepted by God even if it is not done in an Adventist church. I joined the Adventist church in 1985 and my baptism in the Pentecostal church was accepted. There is nothing wrong with a re-baptism but it this emphasis strikes me as odd.

Problem is that the Righteousness of Christ is an eternal righteousness as well as an ordained plan from before the foundation of the world. Most people forget the fact is that "while we were yet sinners" he died for us is the key ingredient not while we were saints. Sanctification is another issue. Most people lose sight of this simple understanding and confuse the sanctification matter with an assumed self- righteousness that is dependent on our works and that if we don't shape up we are lost or somehow devoid of the original plan. But the key ingredient is "while we were yet sinners".
This was the original reason as to why Adam and Eve were not destroyed immediately after they sinned.= While they were yet sinners.
Fact is that our works were prepared from beforehand and the ordained plan prior to the foundation of the world has nothing to do with any self-righteousness on our part. Job learned it the hard way as did Adam and Eve when they were told to remove the fig leaves and to put on the animal skins. Job being a so-called righteous man had to repent since he didn't live up to the required standard of perfection after witnessing the revelation of God. If we fail or fall the plan is still there since it was a one time done deal and cannot be reversed by man unless one rejects it and commits the unpardonable sin.

I used to attend church with this family. They still live among the Amish, and so it was best to keep the dress so they can still reach the Amish. If they went completely English in dress, it would limit their ability to witness with the other Amish families they live around. Also, as someone else said, there is nothing wrong with their dress. They dress modestly, which is more than what can be said for SDAs in general. They may not dress “modern modest” but it still meets the criteria of modesty.
