"You could call that an life-changing bassline but you'd be very wrong" 😂 😂 😂 😂
Fans: love each iteration
Dom: it' rubbish actually
Literally me. I feel like I have no taste
Production Deconstruction aka Dom roasting his skills for 21 mins straight
bro is as humble as good doing music LMAO
me after listening to the demo:wow it's awesome!!
Dom: it's rubbish really
Çfmwpntpwntlwkwl bu yorumu arıyordum
hahahahahaha this just happened again ffs
I literally said out loud "Oooh, I like that a lot more" at the exact time he said "A bit rubbish, actually."
dom: if i could sing i would sing
dom 0.5 seconds after: ᵢₛ ₑᵥₑᵣᵧᵦₒ𝒹ᵧ 𝓰ₒᵢₙ𝓰 𝒸ᵣₐ𝓏ᵧ?
I can’t express how much I love this comment
Me: Hmmm that sounds nice
Dom: Dreadful
Me: That sounds even better
Dom: Less dreadful
Dominic Alexander Roberto Craik: Electric Guitar, Programmer, Composer, Lyricist, Assistant Producer and Blogger
don't forget he plays keyboards too.
Does he have blog? Link?
You forgot the keys!! He plays the keys .-.
Programmer? Ooh boy that's new to me.
I would LOVE to hear Connors isolated vocals.
god I just love the demo ending at 18:15
when a band writes all of their own materials and also know and use music theory well 😍😍
That's what makes them so great. To write simple, yet interesting and catchy songs, you gotta know your theory.
I would like to think most musicians know music
nobody:
dom: i s o l a t i o n
10:48 will forever remain my favorite part even without conors vocals, the guitars make me feel some type of way and I love it
It gives me shivers from how good it is
Gain off: Dreadful
Gain on: Less dreadful
my guitar tone summarized
who else out here pretending they understand everything dom's saying 😅😅
regardless still love seeing the process ☺️❤️
I actually like the 'underwhelming' outro a lot for what it's worth. But i'm a sucker for synthy rock songs. Anyway that was really interesting.
I think I get Dom's point of the outro drowning the vocals but honestly I really liked the final demo outro; i wish they kept the progression and ended the song on the root note. The outro really reminds me of tame impala's 'let it happen' so that might be another reason why they removed it.
dom’s accent is idyllic
Ayy, my name is Idyll😁
It sounds so sexy!
Idyll Dal ahahaha you must be idyllic too
Dom: it is pretty good, not totally embrassing.
Me: Dude, its a banger! I listened to it everyday!!
So wait... I just found this video because I was looking production videos to learn something and... this is an awesome song!... and then reading the comments and just found that it's a real band. Ok then. I guess I have a new favorite band. Thank you, CZcams.
Being a musician and a huge NBT fan, I found this fascinating. Loving hearing you guys talk about your tracks.
13:20 chills... i need so much more of this content in my life! Cheers Dom!
Thanks Dom! This was not boring at all. We'd love for you to do more of these when the full album drops.
And thank you eternally for doing Neon Brother in Isolation.
Dom´s accent is life, Dom´s accent is love
I have absolutely no idea how any of this works at all, not even some basic knowledge but this is still (or maybe exactly because of that) so so interesting! Love this breakdown
This was amazing and proof that they're both talented and educated
Also very hard workers...i might just continue with saying that they're talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference and just all out wonderful people
It's so satisfying to see the deconstruction of my favourite songs, seeing the individual elements and the process (even though I don't understand half the things you're saying cause I'm not a musician) behind what made the song unique in the first place makes me fall in love with the song all over again. Thank you for making this video!
Far from boring - I was fascinated by this and how much work you put in to "just" a demo. Brings a whole new level of respect I have for you guys. Thanks!
"You could call that a life changing bass line..... You'd be wrong"
"he produced this song, and our record" INCOMING FULL LENGTH TBT RECORD CONFIRMED & ALREADY PRODUCED???
Is this not the lead single for this era? 🤔
yeah!
confirmed in this interview czcams.com/video/Lv0iOlv941k/video.html :)
I was supposed to be doing music production at college before lockdown so I really enjoyed this video, gave me an insight into what the process will be like when I go back
"If I could sing, I would sing" damn Craik, he doesn't wanna show us his divine singging abilities
As a music uni student, THANK YOU
this gave me a new appreciation for the track
that ending 😩❤️💔❤️
could you possibly breakdown "Amsterdam" in the future? I really like the production and have many questions! :D
This track is so killer, I have putted it on repeat for the last weeks!
These kinds of things just blow my mind, a band sharing their work process and production is the dream for us musicians. I hope you can keep doing this because it is seriously very fucken much appreciated!!
I'd love for you to do a production breakdown on members only, really love the sound of that song.
New comment after watching this: You did great, man! I really enjoyed hearing how it started vs. how it ended up. The slight difference in the ending really did change the mood of the entire song, as well as the slight alteration in the lyrics. It was really cool when Conor sang "fading so slowly" and then the instrumental dropped off was *chefs kiss*
This is exactly what I have been searching for. I loved this, appart from loving nothing but thieves I realized that it is hard to find these kind of videos from rock band and such. I find alot of both metal and pop ones but modern indie rock project videos or what to say is pretty rare.
I understand nothing but I’m really impressed
I'd love to see more of these! Just a kid?
I'd love to see this for more songs
Dom talks for over than 20 minutes... yeah, sounds familiar...
seriously, great sort-of "making of" video. So direct and simple yet very interesting.
Keep doing such videos
I appreciate this video so much as a 17 year old who sits in his bedroom with a guitar and logic pro, to be able to hear a song that I love with the sounds that I know well from using these plugins, makes me rethink some of the songs that I have stored away with no thought of ever going anywhere with them
"the drums sound worse, so that was good then how I did that." 😂😂
Conteeeeeeeent. Bless. Stay safe, everyone.
love it! you were veeery natural
Definitely do another one, and another one, and another one... 💯
I love u guys keep giving us content 🥺🥺
This is exactly what I wanted to see thank you please do more
It’s so cool to see how the song ended up to be!! thanks guys for releasing content! i loved watching this, it was so interesting!
I absolutely love seeing the process of evolution and production of the songs, the layering, the hidden small things! Thank you so much for that! I wish more bands did this
That was awesome. Thank you. Very cool and very interesting. Personally I would love a deconstruction of I Was Just A Kid and Take This Lonely Heart if possible.
I know or understand 0 about making music, but this is so fascinating 😻 thanks Dom!
That was really interesting! I always asked myself how you actually made such music so that was really eye opening!
I hope you guys do more of these because this was dope.
The demo with the different ending was pretty good. Love hearing Conors vocals!!!!!!
Honestly, loved watching this. Wishing more bands would break down their songs like this. Very interesting for all of the entirety of almost 22 minutes.
They are really making isolation enjoyable! Thankssss !
That Tame Impala-esque section made my soul smile
This makes me love you guys even more!!
I’d love to watch a whole series where you go through your guys songs and their production
This is great insight on the creation of songs! Keep them coming!
this was great to see, ty Dom.
This was brilliant! Would love to see how broken machine was made and the evolution of the song.
Thanks for that Dom, seeing how you go about the initial creation and subsequent changes and metamorphosis up 'til the final mix and what as fans we are used to hearing, allowing us to witness the maturation of the song with you makes me grateful for your candor and excessive humility, but more than that the fact you took the time to do this makes me appreciate you all the more. Cheers from Montreal, can't wait to see you live, peace!
Mic stand = Nutribullet cup. Can totally relate. The mic and pop filter in our home studio are covered by a hospital slipper sock when not in use to keep it from getting dusty. :-) TOTALLY loving this video, my inner geek is rejoicing. Thank you for sharing!!!
I love that kick so much
Loved this, hope you've got some more tracks you could do the same to! When first hearing the song on release day it instantly reminded me of Muse/Tame Impala. Was it written around the time of the Muse support shows? Was at the o2 show in September I think it was...you guys smashed it as always!!❤
These versions sound so, so different! Wow!
are you kidding me? i've been playing with my guitar your entire discoraphy for days, asking myself ' yeah but how the fuck do they manage to come up with these perfect ideas, chord prorgressions, riffs...' ecc AND NOW you share this video, i feel so lucky
It was really nice that you gave us the opportunity to look into some production parts of the song, i really like the song and now i can see how hard you guys are working on it. It's amazing, thx for sharing music with the world.
Excellent background into how you put a song together, your music inspired me to learn guitar at 47yrs old.
Glad you’ve joined the community, hope you keep it up ✌️
Dom pls keep on doing production deconstruction videos, loved it!
I'm sorry mate but this actually sounds great to me. Its so dirty and funky and raw. Of course engineer wise I hear you, but its so street here. You guys deserve to be seen more in the US ,but hopefully soon. Great songs great production GREAT players and that fucking voice omg
Loved every second of this, thank you Dom. Nice insight on your guys work! Keep em coming 😊
Great composition:) The vocal melody against the instruments are really interesting.
gracias por mostrarnos esto dom
This was an awesome video and I would love to see more of these!
YES PLEASE
めちゃめちゃええ動画やん
MORE!
Could watch this all day long. More please!
subbed to dom's channel! Im excited.
Please more of this Dom!
Digging this demo and so cool to hear you worked with demob happy - makes sense!
do this with welcome to the DCC!!!
Loved it. Thanks Dom, really got an idea of the content you put in, very cool and yeah did think the keys were a bit ABBA, just too much for the vocal. XXX
it would be so neat to see how his process varies from nbt stuff to creating the sound demob happy has! love 'em both, but they're quite different from one another
This is genius! It puts the production process in better perspective for me. Good info for my own editing at home. Don't know about you, but I"m going crazy here in L.A. Having strange nightmares and don't know what f-ing day it is, but you guys are helping me get through it. Thanks for this and looking forward to more. Stay well!!!
This is really interesting, I love seeing all the different layers being added ! Love the song too
@Dom Craik would still love to see more of this kind of thing. Hearing snippets of There Was Sun demo in the track by track was eye opening, any more production you wanna share would be well received
Omg this is so incredible and I love how the process behind it came to be
Pleaseee do another one. I’m trying to get better with production skills and this was super insightful. Any advice on learning more for music theory?
This is such a great idea! Awesome video Dom! Thank you xx
Thanks for this! I really appreciate it...I have tried to understand these recording programs to record myself...but I just can't! Lol. But such a great thing to watch to understand how this song came about...you guys really are all awesome.
Use smaller dock bar, for more vertical space ;)
This is REALLY interesting and I am really digging this kind of videos. It is really cool to see the process behind the making of the song.
Please do continue to make more of these kind of videos. Thanks a lot for the new content guys!
This was super interesting! Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Awesome! Allways nice to see behind the scenes
