In first season Ryan made Jim look like a weirdo and in later seasons he made even Michael look like a very well adjusted normal being
And honestly I loved his arc. He was a horrible person but it was pretty funny
I loved how in the beginning he compared a lot of his coworkers to himself at 10 years old, then when he goes on his sales call with Stanley he gets a taste of his own medicine by being compared to his 6 month old niece 😂, then later on driven to work by his mom
Pam was indeed correct about who and whom , and Kelly saying Ryan used me as an object , always puts a smile on my face

Ryan is legit one of my favorite characters in The Office.
Because you can see BJ Novak writes small arcs for him to go, like his Temp phase, his Hipster phase, his post-Exec phase.
Also because his character development is about spiraling downwards lol.
Same. I really like how his character is so pretentious and authentic at the same time 😂 he portrays super well the typical jackass that works at the bank or somewhere in Wall Street. For someone that worked in big cities, for me he is the most realistic character out of all the office. Even more than Jim and Pam who can be found more on mid sized cities. However, if you go into the corporate world, all you see is people like Ryan. It's actually insane and scary at the same time..

He's my 2nd favorite character after Michael, I loved all his arcs and the episodes where Michael, Ryan and Pam started their own company.
The way he developed from being kind of innocent and vulnerable in the early episodes to a villain and coke addicted jerk is fascinating to me. He was great in the Michael Scott Paper company episodes....
When Pam asked "how could you make it worse?" I really wish Ryan would have said "I could... start a fire..."

I discovered The Office American version in 2020 lockdown. Watching all the clips of Ryan i thought i would hate him,i eventually purchased the entire box set and i LOVED Ryan.
Finally, I found the real meaning of love - I'd rather she be alone than with somebody.

I love defeated Ryan. Once he loses his position at corporate for insider trading and ended up working at a bowling alley of all places. After that Ryan was never the same. It’s funny how BJ wrote his character to be awful and got respect for it, and Mindy wrote Velma to be supposedly awesome, but she’s hated lol
I think it's unfair to compare then BJ with now Mindy. Maybe it's a stretch but I think age has something to do with it, Mindy did write many episodes for the office, perhaps she's reached that point of her career where she's not as good as she used to be.
