  • @sammy_winchesterxxspookyna8748

    I was looking after two children once, both boys, they were basically beating each other to a pulp. I told them it was not ok to hit each other and one of them responded that their parents told them it was not okay to hit a girl, but that they didn’t say anything about boys. Please teach your children not to hit anyone in general unless it’s in self defence.

    • @riririri100
      @riririri100 Před 4 lety +164

      We are still trapped in the past, where men beat the shit out of their wives pretty often. So I understand people saying "don't hit girls" but more things have some to light, that girls can be bullies too, so they need to know they same rules. Also, there is nothing wrong with kids rough housing playfully.

    • @sammy_winchesterxxspookyna8748
      @sammy_winchesterxxspookyna8748 Před 4 lety +98

      Ri Ri There’s playful fighting and then there’s what they were doing. They were arguing and then they decided to solve it with their fists, I was only trying to prevent them from getting hurt. It’s the fact that they were using it to justify beating each other to a pulp. I’m aware that abuse is still an occurrence in modern society, however if we’re teaching children not to hit one gender then we should teach them to not hit the other. When they’re adults they won’t be able to solve every issue by punching someone in the face.

The moment you do, however, is the moment you get ridiculed for hitting a women. It just doesn't make sense at all. When I was 16 I was in the mall in my town with my little sister, who's 6 years younger than me, carrying her since she was tired from a long day out and about, and some random woman ran up to us and tries to drag my little sister away from me, all whilst yelling that I'm a pedophile and telling a random person to call the cops. Luckily the cops in my country are more friendly and asked my little sister first what had happened. The woman ended up charged with attempted kidnapping of a minor and assault of a minor. She got 2 months in jail for it since it was all on the security cameras.

      The Living Liver This also kinda ties up with the sexism, because woman are perceived as more emotional, they are expected to care more and become a nurse than those _big, strong men_ . People think men is much more likely to be logical, so they automatically think men should be doctors and women should just be nurses.

      This is really huge problem in my country ... Because we call "nurse" here " zdravotní sestra" = that basically means "health sister"... So when there is a man in this position, it's really difficult for him. (Btw in some hospitals are using words "zdravotní bratr" that means "health brother"... So the issue is partially solved. I was pointing out that men aren't slow but that star wars was portraying luke that way. got called sexist 😒, it wasn't a discussion at that point it was just them yelling at me. did I say I believed that? no. @@lizaharris5930 It's actually a fact that men are slower to pick up on things, smart or not. That's why men usually don't notice when a woman is angry unless she directly tells him. Just because one character was a bit slow or having trouble connecting something obvious then I really don't think that's sexism. (but I've never seen the star wars movies so I don't have much of an opinion xx)
      But all of that aside, I really think it's awful that someone called YOU sexist for believing that. There's really nothing sexist about it at all. I expressed my issue with the crappy way men are portrayed on Disney Channel and I got slammed and people claimed I wanted Disney to be male dominated which is not what I meant at all. I'm a feminist and I care about women AND men and people don't seem to get that concept somehow.

      @@lizaharris5930 Not a lot of people know that Disney Channel is a female-dominated corporation. That doesn't necessarily mean that the most high-level employees are only women but it does cater a lot more to girls than boys. I'm not saying it's *never* sexist towards girls but I can hardly name a male Disney character that I would want my future sons to look up to. Booker from Ravens Home is a rare, decent, sweet, and cool male character but he's not smart. His little brother Levi is insanely smart but he's kind of a loser. Their sister Nia is.. perfect. She may have some minor character flaws but she is incredibly smart, sweet, environmentally conscious, stylish, charismatic, driven, independent, etc.
      On Sydney To The Max, Sydney isn't perfect but she has no major character flaws. She's kind, smart, creative, loving, considerate, etc. Her dad, Max, is nice and everything but he's kind of stupid and he's that "goofy" dad.
      On Hannah Montana, Jackson is rude, smelly, idiotic, and a slob (i like him don't get me wrong) and Oliver is goofy and stupid. They're both "losers" whereas the female characters are smart and sweet. Miley can be a bit selfish but she always realizes when she's being that way and tries to fix it. People can argue that Lily was stupid but she got into Harvard which was weird but whatever.
      K.C. undercover too. The female characters are almost perfect whereas the brother and dad are either goofy or losers.
      All I'm saying is that Disney doesn't seem like they can put strong female characters in their shows or movies without making the male characters either gross, stupid, rude, or all.
      Also, the only disney shows I can name where there the main character is male (without a female co-main character) is Corey In The House and Suite Life Of Zach and Cody. There's a rule or something that says if a male is a main character of a Disney show, a female also has to be a main character of the same show.

However, for some reason, most of my classmates (and even my teachers) think that because I talk to him sooo often I must have a crush on him, which is made more frustrating by the fact that I’m actually a closeted lesbian. It is to womans detriment as well - we are too emotionally to be logical thus we will be a poor leader/ possibly considered stupid and only good to be with kids and we are more likely to be assaulted- so from the beginning we are not allowed to play and be out like the boys because girls are obviously the only ones that get abducted.. then if we do get hurt - well dumb ass we told you to be on your guard - it's your fault you got assaulted because you should've known better ..we are sad or angry - must be that time of the month. -.- I personally don't like showing my emotions but I am not so heartless as to dismiss a mans vulnerability and sadness.. I feel like that's other mens fault though .. I agree that guys need to surround themselves with better people that are not afraid to give them a hug when they feel upset - instead of man up . Not to insult you - but I don't agree with how society treats people in general.. I am pregnant and I was told I can lift and exercise by my doctor- I was gonna move a ladder and a man proceeded to scream at me for doing so - making a scene and he said I'll get over it .. i aparantly was suppose to be ok with him embarrassing me because he had the baby in mind .. and hes not the only one that has done it and not only when I'm pregnant- being asked if I need help - I say no and then just takes it out of my hands mostly from older guys , I don't expect it and half the time have lost my balance because I positioned the item in such away so I can carry it easier .. even was questioned by a woman because I had a drill in hand and she felt that she was paying for the best service and it was assumed it was gonna be bad . I try to brush alot of it off but to be honest I've had enough.

    Reminds me of a story I heard. Wouldn't be surprised if it actually happened.
    So a group of actors decided to test a theory about sexism in a public restaurant. Two couples, man and woman, and a waiter were actors. None of the patrons in the Restaurant had any idea.
    First couple, the man starts arguing and yelling at his wife over something. The worst he did was hold her arm, he never insulted her. He just held her menacingly. Everyone in the Restaurant tried to stop him and telling him that he shouldn't be doing these things. Eventually he did stop.
    Moments later, the other couple did the same thing, but in reverse, the woman started beating him with her bag, swearing, calling him all sorts of insulting stuff and he did nothing but take the "abuse" of the situation... Not a single person got up.
    The waiter, after both displays, asked each table why they came to help the woman, but not the man in both abuse situations.
    They all said that the woman was probably innocent in the matter. But the man probably "deserved it".

I'd never seen my dad that close to tears before. It was horrible to watch. We tried to get help, we were by a road, so we screamed at the cars waving our arms and pointing to our dad. Mothers with their kids were going to the playground, but when they saw my dad bleeding and me and me sisters screaming, they just ushered their kids away and drove home. Dad gave us his keys to go get his phone from his car. Mom was working, so he called a family friend. Thank goodness she got there, I was scared my dad was going to die. But since it was treated so late, he's always in immense pain now. If it was our mom who got hurt, or me, maybe someone would have tried to help right away. But just cuz it was a 41 year old bald man with a stubble he forgot to shave that got hurt, no one helped in fear of their children getting harmed. Now my dad has to live in agony for the rest of his life.

      A little late note about that "women first" (and about the "man should open the door for a woman and let her go first")...these were incorporated later in the Galateum, but actually were born during the middle ages, when women were seen as something less...since you never knew if there was some enemies along the way or beyond the door, you let the woman go first, so while she was captured or killed you could take your arm (sword, bow or axe) and get ready to strike...so, not really a pleasant one, even historically speaking.

You'd think they would know their own lives better than a stranger would know them. If a kid says that their mom is a doctor, they're probably a doctor.
      It's like when I was little, my teacher tried to help me use my asthma inhaler (it was one of the tubes so I needed help at the time) , but she misread the directions and thought she needed to give me three times my proper dosage. I tried to explain to her multiple times exactly what she misunderstood and exactly what she needed to do, but she ignored me every single time. This literally happened to my family last month when my mom and my 6 year old brother went to Walmart, he was standing right next to her and she turned for a second to pick up some rice when she suddenly heard my brother scream for her and she spun around and he was gone. I was in a home supply store to buy curtain hooks. I was going up to the counter when I saw a young boy, probably 1.5-2 years old, playing with some switches hanging on a display thing. He was having fun flicking them on and off, so me feeling that urge to be a kid again as a lot of men have when seeing a kid playing with something, having fun, decided it would be a good idea to join in and play with him. I would flick the switches he flicked on, off, until his parent/guardian came for him. I played with the kid for like 5 minutes and he asked me what my name was i said "I'm Matthew" and held out my hand, he shook it and said "My name's James" at the point he shook my hand, his mother came hurtling across the store assuming I was trying to kidnap her son and started screaming at me to leave him alone. She literally said "What the hell do you think you're doing?! Trying to take my boy? Men like you should be locked up!" The kid tried to explain that we were playing together and the mother said "What did I tell you about staying away from strange men?" Not people, men. The bitch slapped me in the face and stormed out. Taking the kid, who is now in tears at being dragged away from his new friend and being snapped at, with her. What a cunt. It's not as if I grabbed the kid and made a run for the door with him kicking and screaming in my arms. I was kneeling down playing with the wee lad, and shook his hand with a smile on my face. But no, apparently I'm sick, child abducting, pedophilic rapist who deserves to rot in prison.

I was handing out water since the bands were coming back. The school wasn’t more than 4 miles away from us so they stayed to shoot the shit as I handed out water. Even helped when I started needing a break to rehydrate. A parent comes up demanding to see the band director (for whatever dumb reason) and is told that she is the band director.

    The biggest one that aggravates me:
    Men have relatively easy access to surgery to make them infertile, yet unmarried women (especially ages 18-30) are often refused because they might “change their mind.” Even if they’re married or older, their body still isn’t even treated as theirs.
    To add to that, I especially hate the social stigma surrounding children, that women are made to take care of and want children while men are not.

    • @ICEBUNNo
      @ICEBUNNo Před 4 lety +8

      I love Angelique, yes that’s perfectly fine! A lot of people do. But some people don’t want them, and some of them don’t even want a chance of accidentally getting pregnant. That’s why they go to doctors to get their tubes tied, or have the lining of their uterus burned, or whatever surgery to prevent them from having children (there are multiple).
      But the problem is that it’s scarily common for some doctors to refuse women the surgery because they “might regret it later,” or they might tell them to “get your husband’s approval,” even if they might not have a husband. It’s especially harder for adult women up to 30 to have these surgeries. Society treats it as if your womb isn’t yours, and it’s a woman’s duty to have children.
      But again, some women don’t want children. Some have never wanted children. It’s just ridiculous that this bias still exists in 2020.

But, if a woman attacks the man, and the man defends himself, the woman can just lay down crying and IMMEDIATELY be acknowledged as the victim. Seriously, I know that a lot of men can be abusive, and those men have made a mark on history because of the stereotype that men are stronger than women. But, a lot of men get punished because they defended themselves against a woman. I have nothing against women, but this just sucks. I have to live every day knowing that if I ever hurt a woman, EVEN in self defense, I can and most likely will get punished for it.

I myself always dressed in guys' clothes and was mistaken for a boy when I had short hair... Ah, I wish every piece of clothing was considered gender neutral...

      all bi women are straights looking for attention.
      all bi men are gays that are not brave enough to come out.
      and last but not least:
      cis homosexual people are transphobic if they reject you because you have the parts they don't like.
      and this stigmas are true even in LGBT circles

    Gotta love these. And by love I mean hate. Few things piss me off as much as bigotry and double standards. A few of my own:
    1. I teach children. I'm told I'm great with the kids. I only ever even got into the field in the last few years because, while teaching is a passion of mine, my parents and everyone I talked to thought I would be a terrible teacher, partly because I'm a guy.
    2. Used to work in a Lowe's. It was so depressing to see all the customers coming in come straight to me, even on my first week on the job, for help, straight past my multiple years experienced female coworker who is standing at the counter looking directly at them. And then I would immediately say "Oh, I'm not sure, you should ask my coworker, who's been working here like 20 years."
    3. Crazy girls throughout my youth thinking they can beat up on me with no recourse because "it's not okay to hit a girl" but they'd never heard any saying about hitting a guy.
    EDIT: Almost forgot a super relevant one:
    4. "Girls can't be platonic friends with guys." Excuse me? Some of my best friends are of the female persuasion. No we have not had sex, and no we are not planning on it. Some of my friends have husbands/boyfriends who might not appreciate that. Besides, I'm bi, yet there's no assumption I'm just trying to have sex with any male I hang out with. It's ridiculous how often I have to fend this question off.
