omg man. just what a lot of us need. :D
+TheFantasyFen 😊😊
My brother is going to be so hyped to find out you'll be doing axel videos!! Your toe loop video helped me tremendously! :) As for the axel, maybe just my bro for now, it'll be a while before i'll be brave enough to try it haha! Thank you for these videos! :)
+Greenpuffle nice 😊 glad I could help, I will be doing some more basics after these axel videos.
+THINICE Will be looking forward to all of the upcoming videos!! Thank you again for these!
YES! As inactive as the uploads were, I have watched this channel and you more than any other skating tutorials out there. Thanks for all you do!
+Kevin Q hopefully back to uploading regularly now, thanks for sticking with me 😊
Struggling with stopping. Please do a video on detailed instructions of the different ways to stop on ice! Thanks
No problem, I will be doing stops after I have done the other Axel videos :)
Sounds good. Thanks!
hey!!! you almost forgot about your audience. You have a unique way to break things down. Thanks for sharing!!!
+Alberto Quinones I had been keeping an eye on it, just haven't had the time to film and edit as I've been super busy on the ice. Glad to be back though 😊
I've had my axel for a while now
I would say that i already knew this but something that he should've mentioned that really helped me getting my axel was doing walk throughs
You explain so well. The video is really helpful.
+Rally Bogdanova 😊
I've done many jumps before but it's been years. It wouldn't take long to do. Just getting your body readjusted takes a day but after that you can get back into it.
I have to say your advice is so clean and clear to me that I get those "ah ha" moments often when watching your videos. Thank you so very much keep up the great work! ⛸❤️
+Peter Mason thanks, I'm glad I'm helping 😊
yaaaassss good to see another vid !!
+Gillechan 😊
thanks man ive been figure skating for 8 years now and im learning how to do the axel and ive already can do 1 1/2 rotations in the air and this helped me alot
+CKAminecraft great, glad it's helping.
Good to see your back john you should do a vid of us training at rookies mate
+Christmas j8 J8 only doing figure skating on this channel 😊⛸
Thanks so much watched all your videos and i have successfully landed a double Axel triple salchow combo
Waited this new update for so long. good to see you back. How does the Revolution blade compared to the Matrix?
Thanks. There okay and took some getting use to but i don't mind them now. I have one of the earlier versions of them and the newer ones have a few improvements.
soooo glad you finally uploaded again thank youuu! great video since I just started learning my axel
+Dark Angel hopefully back to regular uploads 😊
THINICE yayyy awesome
Thanks! I'll try this out at the rink. Kisses.
+AzuZhou no problem 😊
good job i teach in many same ways with my students
hi! could you also do a backward three turn tutorial? It would really be a big help :)
+DblAxel 1228 yes of course, keep an eye out for one in the future.
Thank you so you much!' Your videos are so helpful. I have improved my flip and loop thanks to you. Now is my Axel
+Diana Thakur no problem. Happy that I have helped.
THINICE can't wait to try on the ice. I do a lot of waltz back spin preps
THINICE if you have some time, can you take a look at my Axel prep in channel? Thanks
i am a figure skater and i could use these tips thanks
+Gueorgui Kambourov no problem.
You're back!!! woohooo!!!
+iceteaaddict 😁😁😁
Love your tutorials! What blades are those?
We missed you John!
+Have an Ice day aww, I missed having you guys to chat to too.
Is this possible wearing hockeys as I don't have figure skates? Thanks.
Thank you for your clear instructions! unrelated question: what's the difference between your blades where there are extra things connecting the heel plates to the blades vs the more "standard" one where it's just a few bits straight from the heel plate down to the blade? I've been wondering because a lot of the more advanced blades look like yours with diagonal bits but I can't figure out what they do?? Sorry for the ineloquently phrased question, I have no idea what those pieces of metal are called.
seconding the request on stops by the way, for show stops (reverse T stops?) and hockey stopping on figure skates!
+ShadowofAstarael they are actually carbon fibre so there is less metal to the blade which makes them a lot lighter that a regular blade fully made from metal. 😊
+ShadowofAstarael I will certainly do them but will just be going through the basic stops first.
OMG where have you been?! Hope all is good! Thanks for the video!
+rockubabe yeah sorry, been super busy with work. Hopefully back to regular uploads now.
For an axel jump Does it matter which leg you jump off?
Hello, I am struggling with loop jump part, because I find it hard to jump and turn and land on the same foot. I have my legs crossed when I am ready to jump. Should I kick my left foot in the air to jump? Thanks so much! :)
+Yuping try. It to kick your left foot out but think of lifting your left knee and make sure you get that little twist on your standing leg.
I am in star 2 and me and my coach were working in axels and she said I should be able to do it!!!!
lol I can't even backspin yet 😅
Hey, I see you started ice skating when you was ten, right?
Do you think I'll be able to do all of these jumps?
I'm 16 and want to start ice skating (I have never done it before), but I don't know if I'm not too old to be able to jump like you.
btw, sorry for my poor english, cheers:)
I started when i was 19 almost 20 so you should be able to do it! I'm turning 22 soon and my next jump will be the Axel. As long as you take your time, work hard and have the guts to try something new you'll sure be able to do it someday. Remember to Work out besides ice skating. A strong core and legs and good balance will get you a long way
Frederikke Stubkaer Thank you! Do you think I can do it without a coach? There's no ice rink in my town, so I have to learn by myself.
+Yan Chan yes, you should be able to do up to axel with some hard work and focus. The older you get the longer it takes to master a skill but it is still possible. Once you get to axel it is just the confidence you need to commit to the jump. Make sure you work on all the basics before you start trying the difficult jumps and if you do what to progress we'll make sure you get a coach to make sure you are going in the correct direction.
Teach us how to do a death spiral!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
spin into ur girls dm's like (>0
can you also make a ritberger video😍
+Zoë xxx I'm not sure what a ritberger is 😔 do you know another term for it? I have tried searching for it but can't find anything.
Rittberger is what they call loop jump in some European countiries (Germany, Switzerland, Hungary..) and Russia. Thank you very much for uploading axel part 1 video, very helpful!
Elena Braun thnx 💎
You should do more. You will really have views since yuri on ice ;)
+Alexia Andrada I'm working on it 😊
THINICE great! Can t wait to watch more :D
I don't arrive i don't know why 😥
+Alex Etche I'm not sure what you mean?
Good videos. I would suggest that you break down each movement to be even more simple. And if you speak slower, it would help too. That is my advice from doing hundreds of ice-skating tutorials. Oh and I posted you in my sport's group page: facebook.com/TheSportXtremeIceSkating
+Xtreme Ice Skating thanks for the tips. Okay great, I will check it out.
This was a really helpful video, except that I had to try to flip all of the tips for me since I am a leftie.
same!
+Bunnylover 2000 glad you liked it
Why am I here...I'm not even level 3 yet?! 😂😂😂
Gonna do level 8 soon, heya😂
It might just be me, but I think that people shouldn't be learning axels online. It's not safe, they should have a proper lesson and coach. I know when I first learned axels that I fell MANY MANT times and it didn't feel good. I had bruises all over my body and they shouldn't be learning this online. That's just my opinion though, but be careful guys.
