Naah mate don’t need to hammer it down it can be converted into coin just by meting it. But striking the Maple leaf is the difficult part.

That's why steel spoons and knives and forks they make for general stores are better to use. They need silver in them to be more sterile each use. This spoon is close to $1900 USD (depending how much of 1 oz it didn't lose from it's Canadian 24K or .9999 pure oz it weighs). Sterling silver at close to $35 USD per oz is cheaper and better for food silverware.

I would pay a higher premium on a utensil I can use daily over a coin. I wish I could turn my gold coins into daily wear.
