Hi! First love to say I really enjoy these videos before I do my senior status law degree-- since I want to get a headstart in my studies. Secondly, where can I get access to your lecture slides?
Many Thanks The Law Academy.
Is an Act of Parliament also called Statute?
Hello! I've been a viewer for a while and was just wondering where all the videos have gone. I hope everything is okay :)
Can you explain how and why you believe parliament is supreme law maker,
Already done! There's some lessons on Parliamentary Sovereignty in our lessons on Public Law :)
@@thelawacademy1 thank you for reply. Are you saying parliament is sovereign over the people or just over themselves.
@@jeffbarrett1787 Parliament is supreme when it comes to making law. No other institution can override the will of Parliament in making legislation.
@@thelawacademy1 please enlighten me further to help me understand fully. As I understand it according to the bill of rights there are, statutes and laws and customs three distinctly different, parliament make act / statutes not law, acts / statutes can be backed by law but are not law persa..
@@jeffbarrett1787 This isn't true. Parliament makes law. Acts of Parliament are law, they are Parliamentary statutes. Acts, Laws and Statutes are all the same thing
