    Welcome to our Warhammer 40k painting tutorial, focusing on the effective use of streaking grime! In this video, we'll demonstrate step-by-step techniques that will transform any miniature into a battle-hardened warrior from the grim darkness of the far future.
    Streaking grime is an underutilized but highly effective technique that adds realism and depth to your models. It creates the appearance of accumulated dirt, oil, and moisture caused by environmental factors or the horrors of war. Perfect for infantry, tanks, or even larger models, this painting method will truly elevate your Warhammer 40k miniatures to a whole new level.

      Glad this helped, I remember when I used it the first time aswell. Didn’t know if I was going to ruin my models and all the work I put into them. But then after the process I was kicking myself and laughing that no way was something that looked that good was so easy.

    Awesome stuff, model looks great! I always find SG can be a bit inconsistent in colour. The bottle I have is really green when it used to be quite brown. I think they changed the recipe. Now I end up using loads of different AK enamels with the same process.

    Awesome video man, streaking grime is a cool effect. Did you varnish the model before applying the streaking grime? And in regards to that, how easily does white spirits damage the paint job underneath the streaking grime during removal?
    As always great production quality and quite informative :D

    • @warpstormwarmaster
      @warpstormwarmaster  Před 11 měsíci +2

      No varnish was used on this guy. You can varnish the models before hand. And it does protect the paint underneath a little bit more and dose help keep the paint job keep to the original color a little bit more. Where as in this case with no varnish it still slightly stains and darkens a little bit. Also as long as you don’t rub the model with the qtip the paint underneath should be fine. Just roll it around the model. You will be surprised that you don’t need any pressure at all.

      @@warpstormwarmaster Nice, thanks for the reply. I have always been hesitant to try streaking grime out of the fear of ruining the underneath paintjob, but good to know it isn’t as harsh on the mini as I thought :D

    Is it true that if you use a varnish before applying streaking grime when using white spirits it won’t whipe off the paint job?

    • @warpstormwarmaster
      @warpstormwarmaster  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I didn’t use any varnish before applying the streaking grime on this model and was able to get all the grime off I needed. And the paint job underneath wasn’t effected. Tho using a gloss varnish protects the paint job more efficiently than not using it.

    I quite liked this video and want to attempt to copy this for my deathguard army however I have a couple questions.
    When you're removing the streaking grime you take the q-tip off screen and I assume thats to dampen it with spirits again or is it something else?
    What red ink are you using?

    • @warpstormwarmaster
      @warpstormwarmaster  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Hi thanks for liking the video! Yeah so when using the Q-tip I have like a plastic shot cup with white spirits in it. And I just dip the Q-tip in it and clean the streaking grime off the Q-Tip and also get rid of the excess spirits. And the red ink I use is liquitex acrylic ink.
