Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family's financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in the world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.
Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Can we appreciate the high comedy of a therapists telling the twins to start chatting away.
She was likely a neurologist because she was telling them about how a stroke works and how the brain works. Any doctor would know that, but a neurologist would know more, since they study an area of medicine after medical school, a residentcy. I love how the one doctor shows respect when he learns she's from Johns Hopkins, the second best hospital in the country. Mayo Clinic ranks first. Johns Hopkins ranks higher than Harvard when it comes to medical schools and specialzed treatment. Mayo Clinic comes first. They have doctors with MDs plus Phds, You have a regular neurologist, often specializing in a deeper area, like an epitologist, who treats only epilepsy. Same with stoke.
She was also so ignorant about her whereabouts that she had no idea she was working for the cartel and was one mistake from disappearing. Completely ignorant to that fact while the other doctors were perfectly aware.
@@jarock89f90 Dr. Bruckner is with Gustavo, hes El Pulpo got his hands on every part of the industry. She isnt oblivious to the fact that well dressed rancheros, she was informed to the detail.
1 time they should of. Why is it they don't talk by way?
The Salamancas doing their tough guy schtick in the hospital is too funny. Nacho honestly looks slightly embarrassed
I noticed Nacho was the only one to nod or smile at the Doctor
nacho more like i am the one who put you on bed hahahah
Yeah Hector is looking extra tough in this scene, he needs to know there is a time and place for that behavior.
That's not a schtick.
They embarrassed themselves the moment their mob meeting had to be stopped to call an ambulance for the old guy of the group.
Poor Hector...his recovery had to rely on the Twins to speak to him. This scene had me cracking up. 🤣🤣
Golden comment 😂😂😂
This show is on another level 🤣🤣🤣

the twins giving more respect and attention to a woman speaking Spanish is funny
Just like real life. Shows no respect and sometimes insults someone behind their back until they speak the language too
If the twins were white and gave more respect and attention to a woman speaking English, you’d bitch about it and cry racism. lol gtfoh.
They probably actually don’t speak much of any English. Or you know at all.
@@811chelseafc I think they speak and understand it, but they just dont want to use English.
@@mariuszsobolewski9839 I wouldn’t be so sure. They’ve lived in Mexico their whole life. In fact we probably see their only times north of the border.
I like to think that speaking to Hector could have actually helped his brain fix itself faster but being stuck with the twins they didn't say a word.
If Tuco was there, Hector would've probably recovered faster
Lmfao
Hector’s actor played this scene really good. Bravo Vince!
Honestly this is unironically some of his best dialogue in the entire series--
He was in the Hannibal movie..a small part
@@chillbest14 wasn’t he in Scarface too? That creepy Hispanic dude that Sosa sent to bomb the journalist?
now he can play it even better
@@chillbest14Really? What character did he play in Hannibal?
4:17 the way the twin looking at them slowly just funny.
nacho and his friend looking at them making it funny too
It's so ironic how Nacho said no one messes with the Salamancas, when he caused Hector to be wheelchair bound
4:17 "Seriously man, is that everything you have to say?"
4:22 *Sigh** "Why don't you both just stop acting quiet and start saying something?! It's your own Tio on the bed!"
I like they actually answer and are amicable, by Twin standards, with her.
Maybe because Héctor's recovery is in her hands

So true, and so important to state « by their standards ». This little cut is gold

The actor Mark Margolis just passed away today. Rest in peace to a legend. You have had so many memorable moments on this show along with Breaking Bad and in your career. 🙏
"A generous grant has come through" has the magic tone every time.

Ding ding ding
The baws can sock me
As an occupational therapist myself, it's amazing to see one mentioned here in this case. They mentioned one in Hank's recovery as well, although the rehabilitation process of patients with disabilities acquired from bullet injuries are different from those acquired from a stroke (since neurological conditions are far more complex, anatomically speaking). I have to say, even if it seems fast paced, Hector's recovey, coming from a coma state, to the point where they were able to establish an alternative communication method (his index finger movement), seems pretty realistic to me. It's a pity that Gus had to interrupt the rehabilitation process (cause of his revenge-related goals), because studies show electrical stimuli theraphy is shown to be very effective in stroke cases. Of course, there's no way of telling that Hector would have been able to walk and be completely functional again (he's still an elder, despite being a cartel boss), but considering the medical response time, he might have been a better prognostic than just a wheelchair with just one finger movement preserved.
You’re so smart Mathias
Not a pity. Intentional. Hector deserves his fate
Hector recovered enough to move more than just one finger. He moved his torso and arm when Walt and Jesse tried to poison Tuco.
He may have recovered to the point of multiple finger movement, maybe enough to type out his responses
You realize hector moved his whole arm to push a beverage off of a stand to check out a nurse? Also he moved his whole torso and upper body to move some food to save Tuco. Sure you’re a occupational therapist and I’m also Santa clause 😂😂🖕😂😂😂 clown 💀💀💀💀💀
"If they double my salary I'll stop breathing"
If they triple it, I'll join a cartel
I bet Gus was the one who paid the grant for her to come there…
A couple episodes later, it reveals that he did
So true
That is reveas led later
He did and stops it when Hector makes too much progress!
Why did gus have so much say in his treatment
Mark Margolis, playing Hector, is a superb actor. I've admired his work since I first saw him as Sol in Darren Aronofsky's debut film Pi. In which, come to think of it, his character also suffered a stroke. The venom & utter hatred Margolis imbues Hector with is outstanding.
May he Rest In Peace 🕊
Now if only he actually speaks Spanish.
I like how the twins rely on them to talk to Hector
“I’m not here to step on any toes” cue the other doctor quickly glancing at the twins, and we’ve all seen the toes of their boots!
I feel like her being able to speak Spanish shows that she knows exactly who they are but doesn't really care, thus why she's not intimidated in the slightest by them when the other doctor at the beginning of the scene clearly was.
unlikely. the actor herself speaks spanish, and story-wise it only makes sense for JH hospital to send a bilingual doctor down to a hospital close to the border
@@ChaosMieter *actress
@@ChaosMieter Gus paid for it though

@@LostInPhilly89how do you know how she identifies
1:25 I like how they give their full attention to the doctor speaking Spanish then anyone
I honestly wish more actors on the show spoke Spanish. You can see that the dialogue oddly switches back to english (between a whole group of ostensible Spanish native speakers) whenever Gus or Hector are in the scene, because those two don't speak Spanish. It takes massively away from the authenticity of the scene.
They had to remember to be somewhat human, if only for a moment.
Fun fact: this is shot in a real hospital. Amazing attention to detail
Bravo Vince
Real bed pans.
Hector got a whole huge room to himself. They must have gotten him the the luxury suite!
Yep, Lovelace Medical Center (did a bit of my training there and is now renamed to Gibson medical center in 2021). Both Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad used that hospital to film most of its medical scenes.
They invented stroke to make Hector condition more realistic

So Hector needs to depend on the Salamanca Twins' speaking abilities, Gus' generosity, and later Tuco's care at home? It's a miracle he lived so long...

What a time for this video to show up in my recommendation section. RIP Mark Margolis!

Maybe Hector could have fully recovered if the Twins actually spoke
Hector may have fully recovered if Gus didn't stop Hector's treatment.
Hector was doomed already but even more doomed with his recovery depending on his robot nephews that wouldn't even speak to him lmao
I think Hector never recovered because of his nephews not talking to him
It's funny and slightly cute how they are so awkward and unable to function in the real world
It's really not a real world for them. The real world is brutal just like it in their home. So no wonder it's uncomfortable for them.
I don’t think it’s cute. They were groomed from childhood to be hitmen. Basically abused.
According to the director, Hector's actor actually had sugar pills and went into a coma just for this scene! Bravo Vince!

The biggest lie in the whole series: "Mucho gusto conocerlos."
funny the doctor chatted away like she would to concerned family; except she was talking to two death cult serial killers, a wannabe cartel second-hand boss, and the guy who put the patient there in the first place
1:00 I love how the doctor glances at the twins as he eagerly passes off Hector's care.
I love the twins fashion sense. It’s such a slick look.
Bruckner immediately recognizes who she is dealing with the cousins..........cartel types who live to kill.
She breaks the ice going to Spanish, never waivers, using language they can understand, keeping momentum trying to introduce a compassionate scenario to their world.
At the conclusion touches Marco on the arm which seems to be bridging a huge huge barrier that really no one dares to do.
The twins seemed totally bemused yet still seem unable to show empathy in a situation they cannot control.
What a wild ride breaking bad and better call Saul
Doctor to twins: You should talk to Hector for his recovery
Hector: Guess, I shouldn't have traumatized them in their childhood. Bad Karma.
Doctor to the twins: If you speak to Hector, it will help him recover!
Hector: Guess I will die.

The one time tuco would have been more useful if he was there
The Cousins' extended toe cowboy boots look like clown shoes, and having all that empty space in a boot only makes one clumsier, less agile, less athletic. The Cousins are supposed to be intimidating, but boots like that IRL practically declare to everyone 'look at me, I'm a posturing idiot.'
