- In the seventh episode of our ‘A Round With Radar’ series, Wayne ‘Radar’ Riley takes on ‘The Most Interesting Man in Golf’, PING Pro Miguel Ángel Jiménez, in a 9-hole match at the famous Sunningdale Golf Club in Berkshire, England. Radar chats with Miguel about his European Tour career, including his hole-in-one record, his affinity for the Ryder Cup and his longstanding relationship with PING. #ARoundWithRadar
I used to Drive and operate the PING Tour trailer, I had Miguel as one of my players on staff, although I didn't do much of anything for him, he did come to the trailer a few times a year.
In 2007 at the Masters, he came to the trailer to get some new shoes we were holding for him,,,,Beautiful brown leather shoes with large tongues over the laces. He took the tongues off and signed them and gave them to me, I still have them today. He used to call me " CHUUCKIE " not Chuckie but Chuuckie. lol He also gave me a cigar that day and told me to wait until I got back to my hotel to smoke it because we weren't allowed to use tobacco products at PING. Miguel Angel Jimenez is one of the finest golfers, MEN on the planet. Nothing but " Class ".

This has been the most enjoyable golf video I have ever seen. Miguel is just an amazing golfer and more amazing human being. So funny, friendly and delightful. It would be a dream for me to play a round of golf with this legend. His 1, 2, back and through had me laughing for 15 minutes, that's how great it was. What an exhibition of great golfing talent.

Love this series, I was fortunate enough to play with Miguel at 'El Paraiso" golf club Costa del Sol in a pro am when I lived there in the mid 80's, my Spanish wasn't so good then nor was his English and he hooked his first shot out of bounds which was a surprise to me as the club pro Juan Franco, a lovely guy, told me beforehand that Miguel was a player! but I had a good time in his company, not long after that he joined the tour, the rest is history, what a Star!!

This was great, thank you! When I was a kid I wanted the ping i3 blade like Miguel played. I was fortunate enough to scrounge up enough money to get them in 1999. I'm still playing them today. Still love them

It's amazing how these pros rotate through their shot, it looks effortless and they hit it with such precistion and power.
Loved watching these two just wondering around the course. Great conversation, great golf and a sausage sandwich to top it off. Just goes to show that’s it’s not just about golf, it’s the company and the camaraderie as well. Great video guys!! 👏👏👏

I played behind Radar the day he almost drove the par 5 5th hole at the NSW golf course in Sydney ...the hole is uphill over a big hill then downhill to the hole ... the wind was helping from behind but it was still an incredibly long drive .. he could really move the ball a long way in his younger days .. and was considered by just about all the Australian Pro's as the best ball-striker going around at that time ..there was no shot he didn't have back then ..

This guy, to me, is one of the greatest golfers. Most consistent player in all of golf! I was at Dubai dessert classic in 04 and he was teeing off with Tiger and I ended up just watching him.
Wayne I think this is the best round with radar so far. Miguel was so impressive it is like he has an onboard calculator, working out distance yards and metres, slope and wind. He then explained it all so well and seemed such a nice guy. Really enjoyed it though I am not going to attempt his warm up stretches!

Excellent, such a class act and been a joy to watch and follow all these years. The biggest takeaway apart from Miguel’s rhythm, was in the first couple of minutes and how flexible he is.

I was lucky enough to win a round of golf with Miguel in the 2000 Nedbank Golf Challenge Pro-Am in South Africa! I enjoyed every moment and I still have the picture! Playing off a 16 back then it encouraged me to better my golf and try to get to the highest level. I now work in IT... ;-)

One thing I've noticed over the years is that professional golfers all seem to be genuinely good people. You don't really see that in other sports.
M W that's because it's a self governing game where cheating is frowned upon. You see footballers cheat all the time and it's encouraged, not in golf luckily. You do see in snooker and pool players calling a foul against themselves too.
Formula 1 are good lads.

i highly doubt it....and giving formula 1 as an example is also hilarious....these are highly egotistical sports, which attracts a certain type of person....im sure most are good ppl but many assholes as well (like everywhere)

Miguel is one of the great gentlemen of sport. Not many players and manufacturers have a relationship that works as well or as long as this one. Radar was great doing the on-course commentary at the British Masters a couple of weeks ago. I am doing a Ping demo day in 3 weeks in Brisbane. Never hit a G400 or 410 before Yeeha!

I dug the insight when they were talking about finesse shots with the 7 irons. Obviously Miguel is dialed in. How did a guy this cool get into it with Keegan Bradley?! Miguel looks like he'd be a blast to play with.

I have played with PING clubs all of my golfing life,they give me so much confidence and Miguel is an absolute legend.Not just saying that BUT when you think of all of his achievements Ryder cup,worldwide wins,holes in one AND even now at his age can still compete competitively on the European Tour,plus his love for life.I Love you Miguel,you are an inspiration!!
What an absolute gem of a man
I saw this guy signing autographs while sky tv were trying to pull him away for a chat. I understand the tv people had time constraints but he didnt care, he signed every one of them.
His putting is right up there with the best in the world. Sunk pretty much everything against radar.
What a nice man what a beautiful course first look at this series, have enjoyed reading Wayne's pieces in golf world so will watch many more.
