Does An Electric Toothbrush Remove More Plaque?

- Yes, an electric toothbrush will remove more plaque than a manual toothbrush if used correctly.
See how to use an electric brush correctly: • How To Use An Electric...
The main reason an electric toothbrush can remove more plaque is the consistent speed and motion of the brush head generated by the motor in the brush. This is something that the human hand/arm simply cannot compete with.
You don't need to use an electric brush to clean the teeth, a manual brush is fine.
But, when studies have shown that you can gain significant health benefits, why wouldn't you?

I love his no bs attitude
I started using an electric tb for the first time....im NEVER going back to a manual one! Even my teeth feel wayyyy cleaner after every use!
Hi... Which one do you use
Same here! I noticed my teeth even look cleaner too!
Same mine looks whiter with electric and Manual my teeth were yellow
It really helps very good i feel fresh every day
How much was it? Was it a cheap $15 one of those expensive $80 one?
Man is a dentist and looks like Stu from the Hangover
Lmaoooo facts
I love that I stumbled across a youtube channel full of toothbrush reviews. Which makes me weird, but hey, it makes oral health less confusing..........sort of. Subbed.
Glad you found our videos helpful, that is what we like to hear.
Electric toothbrushing is so addictive and satisfying, I don't know I really feel good everytime after I brush my teeth with it.
Short answer: Yes
Thanks now I didn’t have to watch the whole video 🙏🏽
@@alexiso.453 I ALMOST thought you weren’t joking Lmaoooo.
Well done you watched 5 seconds of a video
How long does it take usually? And does it remove all plaque
A standard 2 minute clean will remover the vast majority. Flossing/interdental cleaning will remove what remains between the teeth.
Good to know, thanks!
i started using this week.. it is bit pricey over manual toothbrush but i can say brushing teeth is now more fun than never. i spent 2 3 min tops brushing my teeth with electric but with manual, i only spent only 30 second. more time spent brushing teeth more clean.
I literally just went downstairs to get my electric toothbrush that came in the mail.. I’m watching this cuz.. I wanna make sure. I’m about ready to brush my teeth!!
Like someone said in the comments, i also have the Fairwill toothbrush which only vibrates but it does not spin like the one from the video, is this still as good as a spinning one?
They are comparable. There evidence sides slightly with the round brush heads. But Fairywill toothbrushes work in the same was as Sonicare toothbrushes. They have a sonic cleaning actions, which is still when used correctly very good.
Great video, I decided to switch from Manual to electric ⚡
Does it apply for the D7 Fairywill toothbrush? I feel like this specific model just vibrates and makes my teeth sensitive, and I am the one doing the work while other brands you just hold it on each tooth to be clean out.
Yes assuming the toothbrush is performing as it should then the same principle applies.
Is this a new brush to you? Were you using a different brand of toothbrush before?
1:03 i really like his purple smile 😄
Tried the oscillating Oral-B brush but it started to cause notches on my teeth within 6 months. The indicator never went off once to say that I was brushing too hard and you have to push it against your teeth rather hard to even get it to light up and slow down. Far too powerful either way I find.
Try using the sensitive heads and the sensitive mode if your toothbrush has one. Further, the toothpaste should not be a whitening one since they are abrasive, I would suggest Sensodyne's pronamel daily protection (not the gentle whitening one)
What did you do with the brush then?
May I ask, what did the notches look like? Do you mean like little holes or crevaces where the bristles were hitting the teeth?
Thanks
My oral b toothbrushes stop spinning when pressure is applied, is that normal? The brush heads are only several weeks old and it's fully charged!
You would have to apply a lot of pressure for them to stop entirely. They will normally slow down if pressure is applied and then speed up again if the pressure is relieved.
May be problem with electro items
I'll give it a shot...
For a manual, are bamboo brushes really effective and if so are the soft or medium ones better?
A regular manual toothbrush, be that bamboo or plastic are effective, if used correctly.
An electric toothbrush will remove more plaque than any manual, due to the increased and consistent movements.
In some instances and electric toothbrush is a much better product for someone. However, the majority of us can have equally healthy teeth with a manual brush.
Advice is to generally opt for a soft bristled toothbrush as this is more gentle on the teeth and gums.
Electric Teeth ok thanks. I'll have a look at soft bristled bamboo brushes. With the electric toothbrush, how do the interchangeable heads work? E.g do you brush with precision clean for a while and then switch to crossaction or do you switch them daily or weekly? How does it work?
You can pick the brush head you like and use it daily. Just replace it after approximately 3 months.
You don't have to switch brush head styles. You can if you want, but definitely not something you have to do.
Electric Teeth ok, so just use the desired head for 3 months. And then you could change the heads if you want to. Ok, thanks. And using an electric toothbrush shouldn't cause gum damage or recession, even if you already have recession? Which brush head is best to use if you have existing gum recession?
Correct ref brush heads.
No, there is no reason for an electric toothbrush to cause or make worse any gum recession, providing it is used correctly. I.E Don't brush the teeth with lots of force. Use the correct brushing technique. We generally recommend the Sensitve or Seni UltraThin brush head as the bristles are really soft.
Of course if your dentist gives any personalised advice it is best to take this. It doesn't hurt on your next appointment to make sure they are happy with your at home oral care routine and the brushing technique etc you are using.
30,000 strokes per minute vs 300 manual no competition
This brush can use people who are having dental braces and this can help to remove old plaque sss
how can u remove the plaque if u don’t have one ?
Regular brushing with a manual toothbrush and then flossing too will still remove plaque. Electric brushes just tend to remove more and do so more efficiently.
Fiest time tried an electric toothbrush (Oral-b pro 750) .
Downsides : The feeling is not so pleasant. The vibration of the brush sends the toothpaste flying in all directions , so you're forced to cover somehow, but then I don't see exactly where on the treth is it cleaning.
2. Difficult to control
Pluses:
1.I'm not working so much, not at all in fact , comparing to a manual one.
2. Plaque is removed more efficiently
I like manual brush, but I need to upgrade my skills with it and do it correctly.
0:59-1:08 so cute haha
Oral b works better than Sonicare. Due to the fact that Oral b round brushes adapt to the teeth better than sonicare. The only thing you gotta do with an Oral b is to hold it over a tooth surface.
Outer Surface: Hold the toothbrush over the tooth point towards the gum line for that tooth czcams.com/video/c_Akc3x8BnQ/video.html
Chewing Surface: Hold the toothbrush over a tooth czcams.com/video/c_Akc3x8BnQ/video.html&t=97
Inner Surface: Hold the toothbrush over a tooth and point to the gum line of that tooth. czcams.com/video/c_Akc3x8BnQ/video.html
The only downside of oral b is the sound of the motor. It is noisier than philips sonicare.
I have a electric toothbrush but a regular one works better for me because I can get to the bottom part of my teeth better and it's harder with electric I also have braces
Nothing wrong with manual if that is what you prefer.
@@ElectricTeeth If a user has braces they can use the Oral b ortho brush head, which is specially design for cleaning around braces.

It called turn of the electric tooth brush to get to the back better
I wish someone would come up with teeny tiny silicone or rubber squeegee like teeth cleaners . I find that toothbrushes don’t actually remove plaque , it just moves it around on the teeth . I often have to use my fingernail to scrape it off my teeth but that’s too hard to do for each tooth .
Interesting. Toothbrushes are proven to remove plaque and from what I have seen more effectively than silicone bristled brushes. You are basically wanting a small sponge style thing to wipe over the teeth?
9 months late, but if I may comment, I know what you mean. The thing is, the thing you are removing with nails may not necessarily be plaque. Remember that saliva has lots of proteins and these give some viscosity to it, coating the teeth. Also, there will always be some loose aggregation of bacteria around. The problem is when these aggregations slowly deposits on the teeth. Brushes breaks these 'bacterial organizations' and helps the saliva and mouth movements wash them away later.
@@ElectricTeeth yes , that’s what I mean . It seems brushes pick up SOME plaque but not nearly enough. I use the Burst brush and I still see gunk left on my teeth afterwards.
@@fernosan whether it’s plaque or not , my point is that it seems it’s impossible to remove just by brushing. Flossing seems to help the in between and sides of teeth but still a lot of stuff left over afterwards. Very frustrating .
@@SleeplessinOC Use a proxy brush.
Thx sir
What is the name of the manual toothbrush you use at 0:30
It is a Bamboogaloo bamboo brush - amzn.to/3tKuurS
Sir yellow teeth solution although brushing 2 times a day with electric brush and even visited Dental but didn't found good solution
Some teeth are naturally more yellow. This video explains a lot more - czcams.com/video/FgVSDYA3PMQ/video.html
They say if you brush your teeth too much that you can wear your teeth down more quickly. My question is, do electric toothbrushes wear your teeth quicker overtime due to the increased brushing over the tooth surface? They remove more plaque yes, but do they wear your teeth quicker in the process??
No they do not.
I just don’t like it ,i like brushing manually ,my mouth don’t feel clean with the electric,I guess because of the small head🤷🏻♀️
Some people prefer Cheaper and Manual Toothbrush if money is more important, or they're in Poverty.
You can get inexpensive electric toothbrushes now. The Spinbrush is a good choice, for instance, if you are on a tight budget. Oral B also makes a several good battery powered toothbrushes, one can even use the heads that are used on larger models.
Do you recommend floss or a waterpik?
Both have their place. Interdental brushes are best. Floss is much more technique sensitive and harder to get right. Water flossers are a great alternative option if you really don't get on with the interdental brushes or floss.
Can I use with ceramic braces
Yes you can.
Why does he have anime eyes

Anime eyes surgery
Can he do the heart eyes?
He probably has short sightedness. That's why his lenses magnified his eye
Long sighted actually. 🤓
Can we use twice a day?
You should be brushing twice a day. 👍
Calculus, I hated calculus in high school lol
my problem is I use a electric toothbrush but I move it as it's brushing lol I don't trust it fully LOL to just let it do it by it's self.
and if this is just an ad to make us pay more for an electric toothbrush? :D
No ad's here. We don't accept sponsorship/payment etc for anything we create.
I need to get me that electric toothbrush
Mine cost $5.00 at shoprite
Many electric toothbrush just vibrate...not functionn at alll
Electric Teeth Does Brushing Teeth twice a day mean brushing every 12 hours?
No. You can brush morning and night. It doesn't need to be a set time apart. Of course the more time between each session the greater the benefit. Brushing at 11am and then at 6pm is still better than nothing for example, but you will get more benefit (in theory) if you brush at 8am and then at 8pm for example.
For better result use:electric toothbrush
For best result use:miswak
Sister will miswak remove plaque
@@faizalmanwar Yes, of course. Experimental and clinical trials have shown that Miswak is as effective as toothpaste for plaque removal.
i tot electric toothbrush also remove enamel more too?
No. Used correctly, an electric toothbrush doesn't remove enamel from the teeth.
@@ElectricTeeth thanks man last questions, you know that little spring on the side of the brush, i saw someone saying that the springs actually gave the fella an electric shock/nips his mouth. is that possible?
I have never hear of such ever happening. These products go through strict testing and would soon be pulled off sale and likely large lawsuits if anything like that ever happened.
great thanks! i believe i saw that review on one of those knockoffs brush heads :D
Is Rotating Better Than Vibrating Electric Toothbrush?
The data would suggest so. In truth there isn't a big difference and both if used correctly are very good.
When I used one my teeth became very sensitive .
Go to dentist asap and get xray of all teeth! That could prevent you from needing root canal
One thing that bothers me is the crooked teeth…what’s up with that?
Not all teeth come through naturally straight and perfectly aligned.
@@ElectricTeeth Braces? Crooked teeth increase risk of many unpleasant things.
@@Jonathan-do4qb you some sort of braces salesman? You dont need braces, if your teeth are only slightly crooked.
@@108wee Teeth never stop moving and when they’re crooked they create more areas for plaque accumulation. Someone with a channel showcasing toothbrushes should at least get someone with nice teeth to show their mouth if theirs are crooked.
The only thing I don't like about electric toothbrushes and what I don't understand is, why they make the toothbrush heads so small.
Matt, the small heads help get to the tighter areas of the mouth.
You must have some big teeth😂

Studies can confirm behind you is full of electrical toothbrushes which means your in business
Yes, we are a business. But, we are not selling any toothbrushes.
We recommend the cheap/affordable models, not the premium ones (most of the time).
We will be the first to tell you a manual brush is more than good enough, if you use it correctly.

Electric teeth, is it for a really small amount of white saliva to come out after spitting.
Are you asking is it normal for saliva to be white?
@@ElectricTeeth No, I mean that when brushing with a manual toothbrush more salvia comes out, than brushing with an electric toothbrush.
I can't say I have ever noticed this to be something myself. Also not heard of it being a thing, but it is possible. Probably something to do with the amount of brush head motion and reaction to the way we brush?!
Does electric toothbrush cause gum recession?
No we do not believe so as documented in this video: czcams.com/video/EkKITv_i7GM/video.html
Sorry but if 37% of participants have less probing depth, that leaves 63% with equal or more probing depth. Massive fail.
P. S.
looked into the study, 37% switched from manual to electric AND that group had less PD.
I already answered the title by just looking at the name of the channel. Of course.. why would you say no? smh
🤔 Yes, we do have a preference for electric. This is because the data/studies confirm their better. However, we will be the first to tell you that a manual brush is perfectly satisfactory. Although you do need to use the correct brushing technique, brush for the right amount of time and twice a day, which not all that many do.
