Aloha everyone!
Hope you guys are all well. I apologize for the day late upload. My kid is on her Fall break from school and time has mostly been spent this week hanging out with my family.
Around 2010, my friends Ryan and Aaron suggested that my next album be an album of Kalapana instrumental covers. I actually liked the idea but wasn't too sure of the execution. Like, should I make it more ukulele centric or should I stick close to the original? I arranged a bunch of their pieces for ukulele but never really materialized into anything. This take of "Nightbird" is one of those tunes I arranged and basically the only thing left from that project. I might still do it in the future but until I find the perfect balance of ukulele and Kalapana, I'll just leave it as a jam for now.
Hope you guys enjoy the video. We're so close to the end of this project that it's a bit bittersweet. But just because the year is over, doesn't mean I'll be going back to not being active. I'll just upload less frequently but I'll definitely keep the jams coming.
