I have to laugh. I saw Graham last night here in Charleston and he explains he had a day off in London and hired a car to go out and find some LSD. This guy finds a dealer and gets it and gives it to Nash and he drops the acid and goes to Stonehenge. In those days you could go right up to the stones and lay around.All the while he's starting to feel really good. After that he goes to Winchester and the area around the catherdral and was really high by this point and he's wandering around and realizes he's in this graveyard standing on a grave where the person died on his birthday but in 1799. So he's having one of those "moments" and was the background for him writing this song. Well I came to this video with the words because in 1973 my college roommate and I had bought bikes in London and our first goal was to ride to Stonehenge. It took us about 4-5 days because a lot happened in between. We lounge around the stones then get back on our bikes. We were heading for Southhampton to take hydrofoil to France and my bike frame broke. Winchester was the closest town to find a welder which I did. We had to kill a few hours. I had taken a couple of Sopers (methaqualone) a doctor had prescribed for my mother (long story) and had them in my wallet. We were in the town common in front of the Cathedral high on Sopers (more down than up) but listening to him last night it was a crazy coincidence. Anyway I am here because I wanted to tell this story to my friend all these years later and send him the link to the video.
