NRW: "The purpose is to intimidate people" Explosion in Cologne! What points to the Mocro Mafia
There has been another explosion at an apartment building in Cologne. Although no injuries were reported, doors and windows of the building in the Zündorf district were damaged. The explosion occurred at night and residents alerted the police at around 3 a.m. after hearing the sounds of detonation. Forensic investigators and experts from the State Criminal Police Office were still on site on Monday morning to investigate the incident.
The police are currently investigating possible connections with a series of explosions that have taken place in Cologne, Engelskirchen and Duisburg in recent weeks. According to investigations to date, some of these incidents are linked to clashes between drug gangs, including Dutch groups known as the "Mocro Mafia". These groups often use explosions in front of house entrances as a means of threat. Michael Mertens, the NRW head of the Police Union (GdP), stressed that the Dutch drug mafia has long been active in North Rhine-Westphalia and uses the state as a transport hub for its criminal activities. The perpetrators are known for their extreme brutality, which increases concerns about further acts of violence.
