Did it a few years back. The climbs up Iron Keld, Red Bank were too much for me and I had to walk. I also had to walk down the descent into Elterwater as it was too rough for my hardtail. Enjoyed it though. Apart from all the bloody dog walkers. I know that we have to share the paths, which most did by healing their hound for me to pass and me slowing down to walking pace. However, some notable others just let the pooch roam about without a care in the world and then had a go at me when I had trouble trying not to run it over. The extendable dog leads are a danger though. Person one side dog the other - you work it out :-) Anyway keep smiling.
Iron Keld had me walking in quite a few places, and I needed a couple of stops to get up Red Bank, but it was a hot day which I really suffer in. Extendable dog leads are the devils work :)
