I remember finding this with several friends one night while drinking. We had a great time watching it.
😂😂
I remember reading about his movie many years ago in the Guiness Book; they said it was on one of the worst movies list.
Yet there is nothing bad about it at all, and in fact except for the size of the actors there wasn't anything controversial or remarkable about the movie, plot, and presentation for the time.
They were just too sensitive about being sensitive.
Melvin Defleur referred to it as "Perhaps the worst film of all time", and critic Gabriel Ricard listed it as the worst film ever made; stating, "not only is it pretty terrible, but Tiny Town is also pretty endearing."
*Tod Browning would've been SO proud*
I was amazed at how well all the actors rode horses.
Stan- funny as hell them little midgets roping themselves some lil baby calves...
those 'midget' horses ...
I'm sure it won the Academy Award for Best Short Subject.
The majority of the actors are little people but there are several kids dressed up to look like little people.
So I noticed.
You mean midgets.
12:49 Toddlers And Tiaras was just as off putting in the 1930s.
I wasn’t sure if that’s what was happening but I could’ve sworn some of these people looked like they were just children!
Same reason you can't cast only trans people in trans roles. There are not enough skilled actors who are trans to fill every role.
Rarity, and skill issue.
From a spaghetti western fan, this movie was a hoot to watch! I enjoyed it so much!
@Jam watching High Plains drifter ,that is what put me onto this move checking the actors . W
ell High Plains drifter not far behind Terror Of tiny town !
I remember watching this movie many years ago. What a great movie.
He actually walked under the hitching post! Haha
Most actors in this went into The Wizard of Oz 🎉
OMG, I havent seen this in forty years. Next up a documentary about spaghetti trees. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
*"Gooble goble, we accept you"*
I've never typed so much watching a movie before.
That's a good nickname sir!
@@papuciowy1465
Thank you sir.
The tiny horses are the best! They're beautiful.
Perhaps the most disturbing of all CCC offerings....yet we cannot look away.
Should have been a double feature along with Freaks!
Thank you for continuing to present these, er, well, um, classics?
Your hard work is very appreciated.
Ministry brought me here.
"We represe-e-e-e-e-e-e-ent the Lollipop Guild"
Interesting in it's own way in the fact it's a film of it's own no comparison it truly is a stand alone film and a pleasure to watch for it's own merit very recommended for unbiased people definitely top tier for that alone
James- I always thought the saloon gurl singin on the pianny was a real little hottie, don't ya think?
Thanks to the Cinema Snob's review of this I decided I wanted to see the whole thing. All those small people in a town that was clearly built by regular sized people. Yeesh!
Andre- and your point is?
Nita Krebs from wizard of Oz brought me here. She's one of the ballet girls from the lullaby league
Honestly had a better fight scene at the end than most westerns.
Offering little excitement, it's no wonder this movie didn't become a big hit.
Well, they could only charge half-price for the tickets.
@@LiLi-or2gm haha!
Man, ain't no more excitin' than to see 2 robust real men dukin' it out at the end. Now that's excitement...
Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy. King Kong , The Terror of Tiny Town; the 1930's were the Golden Age of Hollywood.
The 1930's was the golden age of Hollywood not just for the movies. The areas of Hollywood were picturesque in the 1930's.
Got my cowboy hat. Ready to roll.
Hi kit I got my hat and my boots for the round off tonight see yall Hee Haa!
Watching this due to Hal Ketchams small town Saturday night
best movie ever
saw this years ago, its a fun watch. cheers 🎥🥂
A true classic
I didn't realize this was a very short movie.
Diamond- can we collectively say THANK GOD...
Hahahhahaha!!! Short
Love it. Even the horses were Shetland ponies.
Not Shetland ponies, maybe the American version but not the Scottish.
Were you expecting them to ride Perchons?
@@doughesson At least that would add some levity to such a serious piece of movie art...
At least we know they’re bronies.
This one is a real barn burner. I eagerly await the mayhem with my favorite gang of weirdos.🔥
Gonna be a hoot! Get your spurs on. Big time barn fun. Lol.
@@Nixfix76 See you there, Tigerella.😉
What is this the "Wizard of Oz on crack"
@@robertcuratolo5339 Unfortunately, no urban myths about dangling suicides in the backset shadows concerning this one, nor any lame homages starring Chevy Chase and Carrie Fisher. 😉
21:08 Careful, boys, you’ll shoot your eyes out with those things.
This is a great movie !!!
17:11 Why a penguin?
You saw it, too?
Made a year BEFORE Wizard of Oz !
I picture a movie producer wrapping up THIS movie, and suddenly having a brain storm; telling his buddies "I got an idea, where we can use these same midgets,,,,,,,, " !
One of the greatest Westerns of all time!....
... or at least one of the strangest. =)
Billy Curtis (The Hero) went on to portray Mordecai in "High Plains Drifter" in 1973. He acted from 1932's "Tarzan the Ape Man" (Evil Dwarf, uncredited) up until his death in 1988. He was also one of the Munchkins in "The Wizard of Oz" (1939).
Yvonne Moray (The Girl) appeared as one of the Lullaby League Members (uncredited) in "The Wizard of Oz" (1939). imdb has no date for her death, but FindAGrave.com has it listed as 1974, but does not say where she is interred (search for Yvonne _Bistany_ Moray).
'Little Billy' Rhodes (The Villain) appeared in "The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm" (1962) as Grumpy the Dwarf, the Danny Kaye film "The Court Jester" (1955) as one of Hermine's midgets and as the Munchkin Barrister in "The Wizard of Oz" (1939).
Billy Platt (The Rich Uncle) appeared as a Dwarf in 1916's "Snow White." However, _he didn't_ appear in "The Wizard of Oz."
John T. Bambury (The Ranch Owner) appeared as a mole man in "Superman and the Mole Men" (1951).
Charles Becker (The Cook) portrayed the Mayor of Munchkinland in "The Wizard of Oz" (1939) and as an Evil Dwarf in "Tarzan the Ape Man" (1932).
Nita Krebs (The Vampire; Nita, the dance hall girl) appeared as one of the Lullaby League Members (uncredited) in "The Wizard of Oz" (1939).
Karl 'Karchy' Kosczky (The Barber) appeared as Munchkin Herald #1 and Sleepyhead in "The Wizard of Oz" (1939). He passed away in 2011.
Jerry Maren (Townsperson uncredited) was one of the Lollipop Guild Members in "The Wizard of Oz" (1939), as a Mole Man in "Superman and the Mole Men" (1951), was an Ape Child in "Planet of the Apes" (1968), portrayed Boris/Rah-Rah in Sid and Marty Krofft's "Lidsville" (1971-1973), had an uncredited role in "Tron" (1982), was Little Critter in "House" (1985), was one of the Dinks in "Spaceballs" (1987). He passed away in 2018
.
George Ministeri (The Blacksmith), Fern Formica (Diamond Dolly), William H. O'Dorcharty (The Old Soak), and August Clarence Swenson (Preacher) all appeared as Munchkins in "The Wizard of Oz" (1939).
I think they were all very severely typecast
Wow, that's so cool to see what roles these people played in their acting careers. I loved learning about this bit of history. I used to watch a lot of old movies when I was young and I'd love to rewatch some of them now and see these actors in their roles. Thank you for posting about this. It was interesting and educational. 👍
Mike Nelson: The shamed cast of Village of the Giants meets the shamed cast of Terror of Tiny Town. :-)
28:09 You know what would make that shelf easier to use? Moving it closer to the ground!
The town's regular size, the people aren't.
@@johnnyb4187 Why would midgets build regular size buildings? Wouldn't it make more sense to build midget size buildings? 🤔
I first saw this on a headful of weapons grade 2C-E. Everyone looked like living muppets, and the gorgeous color palette's rich saturation rivaled The Wizard of Oz. I was amazed to find out the next day I had watched a black and white film.
So, im I the only young one here? I came here bc apperently this movie was really bad, but idk if old movies can be bad anymore, its so cool seeing how people did stuff back then was then now
I wonder how many of the cast were in the Wizard of Oz?
I promise all of them were.
Is this movie a short feature?
Thanks @CCC - hope to make the chat for this classic. I remember they mentioned it in an episode of MASH.
👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It should be just over an hour (62 minutes). I guess that counts as a feature back then. The Charlie Chan movies were just over an hour each.
LOL- nice one. :D
Good movie
HIT LEATHER!
My favorite character was the cook!
Dwarf fortress
That blacksmith could most likely kick my ass or at least badly broug beat me !
All some movie.
30:06 I don’t know why, but for some reason I’d find this scene funnier if he were riding Yoshi.
The original bugsy malone 😉
23:01 He saved her from crashing into tiny Clayton Revine.
Pretty good movie for the times. Too bad the kiss at end was blocked by video suggestion pictures on screen.
1:01 "HA-HA-HAAAA!"
29:33 Ha ha ha, she eats so much, yet she’s so little!
Is Lil Miss Muffin in this?😀
This will be a riot.
All I can say is LOL !
You could put together a short story from all the live comments while the movie was playing.
Anti- leftist- short story, that was a good one man...
Who’s here from Mash??
Get em before they're gone forever! All hail inappropriate entertainment!
It just played on TCM without any warnings.
This is sooooo wrooooong !!!!
What exactly?
I remember this and another one on a MIDNIGHT MOVIE MADNESS double feature ," Revenge of the Virgins"(. Some gold prospectors stumble on a tribe of Topless Female Indian Warriors. ) The men were never actually in the scenes with the women. 2 films spliced together.
How was there never a sequel?
They grew out of it.

One added humor woulda been if some had ridden Goats!! Just sayin....!😉
Who is the tall guy who opens the movie?
It didn't look like director Sam Newfield.
It _might be_ producer Jed Buell, though I can't find any images of him.
"Buell recruited a troop of actors under four feet tall formerly called the Singer Midgets that Buell renamed the Jed Buell Midgets."
- wikipedia
He'd by my best guess if they didn't hire an actor to present it.
Per the IMDB page the man is Stephen Chase.
The Twentieth Century... A CARTOONISH AGE.
Look folks im willing to have 1 commercial.
No way im gonna stay past the 2nd commercial.
Get real and prosper.
What commercials?
Have you heard of ad blocker? Duh!!
I googled the worst film ever and this is what came up at the top of the search results.
OMG! So inappropriate it's equal parts disturbing and hilarious! "Featuring Jed Buell's Midgets"
Heman woman haters club
Seen worse, actually not that bad.
There is it the worst movie ever made 😂
Man, there are lots of movies far worse
Purely excremental from beginning to end, so lousy you'll need a dose of DDT at the end just to feel normal again...The acting is infected with ennui, these people KNOW they're in the worst film ever made but are prepared to go along with it on the basis of "Any.publicity is good publicity"
Sad Sad Sad in every direction!!!
