Originally in school my teacher made us watch these videos. I have learned so much from these videos, I bought my own ukulele and continued to finish the series!
School? When I was at school, video hadn't been invented, and only rich people had colour televisions. I took violin lessons at school, the teacher was Miss Lee, she was great, then she was replaced by Mr Evans, a man who was then, older than I am now, and a grumpy old git he was. There ended my violin career.

So happy I have found you Bernadette. I have been taking private uke lessons since April and I have got more out of your sessions than I have in the private lessons! I have a Luna Sahara Spruce Concert and just love the sound - its my new one, I started out on a Luna Soprano to see if I like playing, well I'm hooked now. You are a Wonderful teacher!! Been watching all your videos, I have just started the 30 Day challenge, I'm so excited. Even though I have some knowledge it is a great refresher. Still having major issues with B chords and picking but it will come to me. Thanks again!! I look forward every new day to your lessons.
I think it's a tub trickling with warmth. Your eyes them both. That's what cements the connection bn a teacher and her pupils even if it's virtual. Makes me want to come back here always. Am so glad when the world out there is fighting so much and there's so much bitterness and anger, we're here for each other. Learning this beautiful instrument which makes the day of anyone who hears it or plays it for them. When you looked up at the last few secs to say.. Actually you can play it now! Learning the ukelele from scratch on this second lockdown in Ireland. "Mary had a little lamb" took me 3/4 days to master it, this is gonna take me at least a week! Maybe more lol! Really great lessons though, I do feel I'm making progress, very slowly but getting there bit by bit. Thank you :)

Hello Bernadette , I just started the 30 day challenge 2 months ago hahah well I am struggling with time as work is 12 hours a day and I am not musically gifted ,but I want to thank you so much for the lessons I never thought I would be able to play an instrument but I am improving, your lessons are great , very progressive and you take time which I needed , your lessons are well thought out and in the right progression for a beginner, really excited to keep going and it's because of your lessons , thank you so much

This is by far the best tutorial ever. Also it got real hard real fast for me😭. It would be nice if you could show how the strums match up with the words. Becoz i keep losing myself in the 2nd and 3rd line
Ahh I did it! It took me a bit but I finally did it with no buzzing or putting fingers on the wrong strings or messing up the strumming! Thanks Miss B!

thank you 😭😭😭😭, this is what I was looking for, I needed to get this level up. This video is perfect if you wanna learn to match ur singing with your ukulele. First I watched only half of ur video and the mistake I was doing was to sing "you are my" along with c chord whereas we have to play ukulele with the sunshine word of first line. I figured it out after few minutes of pulling my hair out and then I decided to complete the video and there u explained it in the end. You are perfect, you know where your students can get stuck. Thank you for making these courses and videos.

Hi Bernadette, thank you for using this song as our introduction to playing with three-finger chords :) It uses my favourite (and easiest to play) three-finger chord, and also helps to solidify chord memorisation and transitioning between chords. And such a happy uplifting song - how can you not smile at the mention and thought of sunshine? Hi!! I've started studying again so I had to sacrifice my time of advancing in the challenge. Ohhhh yes. It’s a classic. Later in the series we will learn how to transpose too, so if you meet someone that knows it in different chords, you’ll be able to change the chords easily ;)

Hahahahaha. During practice for Day 9, my ukulele sounded terrible. Then I remembered you saying, "If you don't cut your nails I can't help you!" You were right. After trimming my left hand, it sounded way better.
I moved onto this lesson today and was surprised that I was playing along by the end, although struggling to sing along as well, still at the counting stage !!

Adding two strums of F before the last C makes it sound a bit better (according to me, who knows absolutely nothing about music), so if you're learning and/or you know more than me (you probably do), maybe try it?

This was a great tutorial! Can you review cheap ukuleles (if you want) because I’m very scared I will buy one and it won’t be good or won’t be up to the standards it says it is
If you go to her 'home page' for the channel you will find a LOT of reviews of different ukuleles. Keep in mind what size you want also plays a role in the cost. Not a large difference, and sometimes, none at all, depending on the brand. Hope this helps. Cheers!!

Adding two strums of F before the last C makes it sound a bit better (according to me, who knows absolutely nothing about music), so if you're learning and/or you know more than me (you probably do), maybe try it?

This was a great tutorial! Can you review cheap ukuleles (if you want) because I’m very scared I will buy one and it won’t be good or won’t be up to the standards it says it is
If you go to her 'home page' for the channel you will find a LOT of reviews of different ukuleles. Keep in mind what size you want also plays a role in the cost. Not a large difference, and sometimes, none at all, depending on the brand. Hope this helps. Cheers!!
