I'm guessing typhoons must happen often enough in Japan that it's easy enough to take them for granted. But I'd watched the footage that came out of Okinawa and more recently Kyushu and the power of the typhoon looks formidable!
I was actually getting really worried while you were all outside. Super relieved to see everyone's okay. Keep indoors and stay safe.
I have little context during all of this, but I'm glad no one was harmed. Make sure to dry off and keep warm, you might catch cold.

The high season for typhoons is exactly what John said (late Aug to late Sept). Beyond that is rare.
All my years at Yokota we use to receive a lot of aircraft from Okinawa, or Guam and Philippines during their storms

Wearing 3 quartes flip flops and white shirt same hat with umbrella. You were still at your previous home that year.

I remembered October 2019 I was I Japan and in that typhoon but was hurricane 🌀
This is Dale. Yes from the Shinkansen we saw flooded fields and high water levels. As I recall there was a whole train yard of Shinkansen train cars that were flooded and ruined. Lucky for us we were in Hokkaido during the worst of the storm and apart from the winds and rain the impact there was more limited.

Yeah I thought so that the typhoon would dissipate a bit by the time it reaches Tokyo area.
Like there are some countries northern hemisphere having cyclones simultaneously and floodings as well. While Taiwan had earthquake on Sunday. Here it is raining there outside but not our cyclone season yet hahahahahahahaha
Sometimes we laugh when the other is in pain, we'll not that much pain.
