By April 2020 we knew the kinetics of SARS COV 2. There was no defense for draconian lockdowns after that. Further, we knew masks had no effect. We have known that for over 20 years. It was such ubiquitous information it has been part of the OSHA update for healthcare providers since 2000. Even for health care professionals with training in aseptic technique the best masks are only effective for 40 minutes and that is if they are used perfectly which nobody does.

I ask mask-loyalists if they believe surgical masks for the broad public are one of the most amazing coincidental discoveries of our time. Incredibly, at the same season Covid is discovered they just learned of this new technique. Some seem stumped and bewildered by this. We've had masks for at least a century, there was a massive experiment during Spanish Flu in regions and YET - just now, suddenly, our worlds best medical wizards, scientists and researchers FINALLY came up with this incredible new life-saving solution!! Think of the millions of lives that could have been saved from the flus and colds if only we'd made this discovery 10 years ago! You know, anyway, for whatever reason they are NOT bending on this because its religious. Just as the 'Mask wearers' of California and the Spanish Flu were Fundamentalist Mask Religion Believers and NEVER conceded a thing.

I was about to say the same.
If you can find it there's a video from when Phil Donahue interviewed Milton Freidman and questioned Friedman on "greed". Freidman basically argues that everything that's good in the world has come from people being greedy. The arrogance with which he delivers it is legendary. It's the classic "I'm the professor (with a Nobel prize) and your just _little people_ beneath me."
FYI - I'm an aerospace engineer and he was talking about technical innovation and claiming its always been via greed, which I know as an engineer to be total BS. He mentioned Henry Ford as on innovator. Henry Ford paid his workers TRIPLE the standard wage and the rest of the business community went bonkers. Henry Ford's claim was they'll work better and more importantly be bale to buy the products they make. Nick Hanauer (the billionaire) talked about in his TED talk "Beware, fellow plutocrats, the pitchforks are coming" back in 2014.

2:26 Berlinski] "When I look at the US and I see people announcing plans for survival mode and trekking off to the woods..." Me? I have certain amount of respect for the 'preppers' as well as David Berlinski. Rome did fall - it did - it went from a population of well over a million to less than fifty thousand in less than one hundred years - that is a 95% reduction in population. Things were probably pretty dicey for those who actually survived. One theory is that people just kind of drifted away out into the countryside and became peasants but not many people actually perished - maybe, except the vulnerable elites. But even becoming a 'paesano' requires a certain number of core competencies that a court mathematician might not posses - which is why mathematics disappeared for hundreds of years in the West.

Pair that with Divorce rates, hollywood showing the unsatisfied marriage, bla bla bla yada yada yada and yeah climate change too... and then the jaded altruisitic vision of the world being to bad to bring a human life into yeah.

Does Authority derive from the Truth?
If mathematics is anarchistic, as in *_rules without rulers,_* why can't governance work the same way and as well?

This David Berlinski doesn't know what science means but he is arrogant enough to criticize science 😃 I was also surprised that nobody in the comment section pointed out his ignorance of science and arrogance of his views on science and scientists. Science is not a body of knowledge which doesn't evolve with new evidence, but a methodology which is based on facts and evidence and evolves with new evidences. Different scientists who research the same subject may reach a different conclusion about the same topic: i.e global warming. Science is the most robust methodology so far to get us closer to learn the truth because it's evidence based approach to validate the facts, not authority based top down opinions. You can also prove any existing scientific fact wrong with your evidence and facts. This is how we accumulated human knowledge in history and how we evolve our knowledge about the universe based on accumulated knowledge. He is confusing science with the pseudo-science, or new religion called scientism

Problem is that today you can't question these so called scientific claims without ostracization, they are ideologically and politically motivated. Science is not somehow uniquely immune to corruptions, humans are fallible and malleable to some extent. The default position should be distrust in institutions, that's what the historical data teaches us.
We are dealing with pseudosciences that's funded by an elite class to facilitate a universalist technocratic system. They justify their political agenda by using "science", and often it's not authentic science because it falls squarely outside the parameters of the scientific method. Good example of this is anthropogenic climate science, it has utterly failed the predictability test. Literally all the predictions for the last 50 years have failed, you simply cannot predict climate. When outcomes contradict your hypothesis, you should abandon it and come to terms with the fact that your theory failed.
Furthermore, "consensus" doesn't make a theory true, anytime you feel compelled to invoke consensus, it means there's actually a debate going on, otherwise there would be no reason to invoke it.
