- Let's take a first look at this sub-$100 bike from Walmart and see if it might actually be any good. In the last couple of years, Walmart and other big box retailers seem to be trying to offer more appealing bike options. Decathlon, a French sporting goods brand, is not a typical retail partner you'd see at Walmart, but maybe that is something that could benefit the big box bike market. The Rockrider ST100 offeres sized frames from Small to Extra Large ensuring a truly wide range of fit for most any size adult or older/larger adolescent.

Yup, just ordered mine, XL. Glad I stumbled upon your video before they were gone ! Cheers !
just ordered mine. can’t wait to start riding!😊
Thank you for the information my friend!
Got one of these, can’t wait to ride
Just ordered mine. Would have picked it up but the in-store stock sold out between yesterday and today. It's such an amazing deal, I can't wait to get it.
Other than having to deal with getting rid of a massive box, I prefer to get mine fresh out of the box so I know it was assembled correctly. Have fun with your new ride!
Thank you for being realistic about the bike. It does look nice for $99.
Good video and you gave great information that I found useful. I would love to see a tune up video of what you did to the ST100. You mentioned greasing the bike seat and adjusting the brakes. Thanks for the video!
got this bike a year ago for $400, decent bike I use almost everyday to go between classes at college and ride around trails, parks with it.
Hi I want a MTB ,maybe something like one for Trail ,but I just need it for fun , what would you recommend me? Something cheap like around 500€
I just got the same exact thing!!!
Just got mine delivered today.A deal too good to pass up on
I just got mine today and put it to together. One issue I am facing is that the gears not shifting. By default does it come in the 7th gear or 1st?
It could be a couple of issues. The rear derailleur defaults to the 7th gear ppsition (which is the "high" gear - smallest cog).
There are a number of derailleur adjustment videos on youtube. I'll try and find one that might help you because it will do a better job than me trying to explain it all here.

Because it's a cheap pos
Got mine yesterday. Do you know what the two holes in the end of the front fork for? They are open without screws in.
The left fork leg has two larger bolt holes for a disc brake caliper. Both fork legs have smaller mounting holes higher up than the caliper mounts which I think are for fenders.
Crazy, same bike is 300 Euros over here :o
Got one for my son to ride to school. What kickstand would you recommend?
Due to the design of tge frame, you won't be able to mount a kickstand in the normal location (clamped to the frame between the crank and tge front of the rear tire). You will need one that clamps to the rear portion of the frame just on front of the rear axle (thos part of the frame is also called the "chainstay."
I bought this one from Amazon and it seems to fit well and feels sturdy.

From a distance it looks like a shop bike. The best thing about a bike like that is you can really use it to go shopping locally without having to worry too much about it. I don't think I'd do that with a thousand dollar bike.
Your high asf. That looks like a cheap ass target bike lol
I ride mine down to the corner store and don't bother locking it up (unless I know I'm going all tge way back to the drink coolers where I can't keep an eye on it). Also will use this bike for taking on road trips. Perfect bike for that.
What's the difference between sizes, Just the seat post length? I am trying to get a medium, but it's out of stock
The frame sizes all differ in both height and length. The horizontal length of the frame will be longer on the large making it a longer reach to the handlebars. Unless you are close to the upper end of the height range on the medium and you have a particularly long torso, I might not recommend sizing up to the large frame.
@@aaronbehindbars Great thanks
Mine came damaged and some parts were missing. For this deal I think they just send you a returned package without checking what's inside.
Mine may have been an open box because the lid looked liked it had been retaped. Everything was in my box, but the front wheel quick release skewer was loose in the box.
My husband loves his its worth the money. We paid 128.00 reg 348.00. Nice bike
For $100 you can't go wrong. I have this bike
I got one at this offer price and the crank arm threads are damaged. Is there any way to get Help from either Walmart or Decathlon?
That's a bummer! Have ypu tried contacting walmart or decathlon? I would start there.
@@aaronbehindbars I tried walmart, they asked me to contact decathlon, and decathlon wants me to ask Walmart. I saw some kind of crank saver kits online, would they work?
@@erorr4o4 You can try installing the pedal on the back side of the crank arm. If you can thread it in all the way, that can help straighten out and fix the damaged threads. Coat the pedal with some grease or oil to help lubricate the threads. Then, see if you can get the pedal to go back in the correct way.
Also, make sure you note that the pedals are left/right specific. The left pedal and crank arm has reverse threads and tightens cointer-clockwise.
What size for me? I'm 5'11. I'm between the L or XL. Some reviews state that it runs small.
You need a large my husband is same height.
Do you know if we can install a rack in the back?
Yes, it will accept fenders and a rack.
@@aaronbehindbarsgreat, thanks for the speedy response, will go ahead and place an order!
what's your best guess at how fat you can go with the tires?
Might be able to get a 2.1 or 2.2 in there. Different brands size their tires different and it will depend on the style of tire (knobby, slick, etc). Aside from the frame and fork clearance, the rims are fairly narrow which don't work that well with wide tires.
im 5 ft 7 inches what size bike would i need meedium or large?
You're within the recommended height range of the medium size, so I'd probably stick with that. If you have any walmart stores nearby, you might check to see if they still have any of these in store and you might be able to try out the fit before you buy.
lg
i'm close to 5'9, should i choose medium or large for this?
You are right on the borderline for each size. If you want a taller handlebar position that is slightly more stretched out, go with the large. The medium with have a lower handlebar that is slightly closer. If you are a long torso/arms, maybe go for the large. Hope that helps.
@@aaronbehindbars thanks

Will XL be bigger for 5 10 or should I get L?
I'd stick with a large.

This bike costs $250 in India at Decathlon.
Well it's not $98 anymore but the 26" is $84
I didn't think they would last long. I know my videos might have swayed a few people to buy one.
I am 6-1, should i get a large or xl?
I'd say XL. I'm also 6'1".
Is that the xl? Is that frame as big as the axum?
xl
In India its 19,000RS 232 US Dollar.
Usually, products in India are significantly less expensive. This bike normally sells for $399 US, but because it was put on clearance sale, it became much cheaper.
A good example is the Honda Navi motorbike. It sells for 44,775RP ($550 US) in India, but it has a price of $1,800 here in the US. Some of that is due to labor costs being higher where the US market Navi is made (Mexico) which has higher labor costs compared to India. Some of the additional cost is because the US is a wealthy country and they can simply charge more for the same product.
Interestingly enough, we are seeing a fair number of Indian manufacturered motorbikes being sold here. Royal Enfield is one such brand, but BMW and KTM are selling motorcycles that are made in India by TVS. I haven't seen many bicycles, if any at all, that are manufacturered in India. Your country is quickly becoming a manufacturing juggernaut, so I bet it is but a matter of time before we see that happening as the labor costs in China and other SE Asian countries increases.
No kickstand
Most bikes don't have kickstands. I heard that Walmart requires a bike to come equippedbwith one to be soldbin their stores, but this is either not trye or an exception was made for these. To use a kickstand, you will need to get one that mounts to the rear of the frame as there is no way to mount one to the usual spot behind the crank.
Are these knockoff s
Knockoffs of what? I can't see why someone would make a knockoff of an already cheap bike.
Trash bike tbh
It's actually not. It's a far better bike than the usual Walmart stuff and perfectly serviceable. It's not a high performance, premium brand, but it offers decent quality for those who won't or can't spend a lot of money on a bike.
@@aaronbehindbars I wouldn't touch a trail on that POS lol pointless waste of money. It's a bike you ride two or three times then it sits in thr garage for the rest of it's life until you haul it to a dumpster.
@@SavingPvtBryan32 I have a $7k bike for trails. I bought this because I wanted to see what $100 would get because it looked to be better built than the normal walmart bike and is available in sized frames so I got one that fits. I bought it expressly for riding to the corner 7-11 and leaving unlocked out front or keeping it on my hitch rack when I take a road trip so I have something to ride around when I get to where I'm headed.
I decided to make a couple videos showing what you get and what my initial thoughts are from the perspective of a cycling enthusiast, but geared towards someone who is a casual rider. This is not intended for intermediate or advanced level cycling enthusiasts as I know full well those people are bot the intended market for this bike.
Though not high performance or lightweight, this bike is well built and will last a long time with the same level of care you need to give any bike. It also performs well for its intended use. I do hope you subscribe to my channel so you can see the upcoming video on my riding impressions and details on what setup and adjustments this bike has needed. Thank you for watching!
