Trevor is a true unique artist especially with watercolour. I think he stands alone, by not drawing first and then painting over the lines, I can never see the point when other artists have something already pre drawn and then proceed to 'paint by numbers'. No one is ever going to really learn how watercolour behaves unless it is given its freedom. Even John Singer Sargent, (although he drew first,) would often ignore his lines in order to paint more freely. Bravo! Trevor.

Watching your demo was quite fantastic-what a skill you have to make an evocative painting.After trying to paint this way I know it is a rare talent to use watercolour in such a free and expressive way.I am trying very hard to do this kind of work but keep reverting back to tight drawing !!! I love the way water colours can do their own thing and looking at the dome, I can see every little detail in the building. Even though there isn't any. I think the skill of a great watercolour artist is to make the paint do its own thing. Damn you for making it look so simple! 😂

I think Trevor has given up on finding the right brush. He uses a magic wand instead. Of all the videos on 'CZcams', painting with watercolour always grabs my attention. To be sure, there are some wonderful artists on here, however, mostly all, draw first, then paint to their guide lines. (I lose many friends by calling this painting by numbers). No so Trevor, he fearlessly attacks the paper with water, colour and brush. I work this way myself, so I know how hard it is and how skillful you need to be. Most of the time, I get it wrong, whereas Trevor gets it right straightaway and boy how it shows. Thank you Trevor for showing how watercolour should be applied in all its glory. You are a true Master.

Seen and admired this, so many times I could probably follow Trevor's brush strokes! (Er perhaps not lol), Speaking of which, notice Trevor is using Normal priced brushes! Proving once more, tis the hand behind them. Thank you Trevor once more for a faultless demonstration.

watched again for the ? time. I just wanted to say I know exactly where this building is located. I was in Venice a few years ago and got to experience what it was like to have no automobiles. what a lovely and clean place. We got a chance to go to Murano and saw Santa Maria Della Salute island ? on the way. I love this picture and watched you paint it so many times. I just keep clicking it. thanks
