  • RMT leader Mick Lynch says rail dispute is 'stuck in a deadlock': A bitter industrial dispute which is disrupting train services is "stuck in a deadlock", according to the boss of the trade union involved. Mick Lynch, general secretary of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union, told the PA news agency that the latest offer aimed at stopping the strikes is "underfunded". Up to three in five train services were cancelled on Thursday as a wave of industrial action spreads across the country. Teachers in England and university staff are also on strike in a continuation of a walkout on Wednesday. Members of the RMT at 14 train operating companies are striking on Thursday in a long-running row over pay, jobs and conditions.

Yes, I think Mick is wrong over pay. Drivers are very well paid .
But, being a keen observer of the railways, he is right about the poor management of the railways, and single manning, which is an accident waiting to happen. And the railways should be rd nationalised.

      ha, ha, ha!!!
      another leftie, nut job!
Firstly, I cannot be a Tory member, if I am not Tory! I am Conservative, but certainly NOT Tory!
Secondly, I am a great supporter of our hard-working nurses getting at least a 20% pay rise, as I do the care home staff
Thirdly, I am 100% AGAINST any UK involvement in any form in this conflict between Russia and the Ukraine, which has got ZERO to do with us. These wasted BILLIONS should be spent right here in the UK!
Fourthly, you BIGGEST mistake is to judge me, without even KNOWING me!
      My answers prove you WRONG!

I agree that none of the public services should be private. The Tories under Thatcher and Major began the ruin of our country. it is stock holders and not customers that are more important, which is very wrong.
