I like to see other folk and their 243Win loads and how they compare.
I'm using a Tikka T3X Stainless, 50/50 over barrel suppressor, metal
trigger guard (you can torque action down better), but my main Mod
    is a set trigger.
    My reload is a 90grn ELD-X over Hodgdon H4350 giving me 2900fps
average with 1/2 inch group at 100yds and a 3inch group at 400yds.
Keep doing the videos, great work

Thanks for your comment. One of the best things about doing videos is interaction with other shooters and hunters around the globe. Sounds like you have a good setup. I just posted a review of my Tikka 270. if you want read it, it is on my website at theolddeerhunters.com/tikka-t3x-lite-roughtech-review/

I have heard that tikka has changed the twist on the .243 to 1 in 8 to allow for the longer bullets (now out to 115gr). As you know, it is not the weight of the bullet but the length of the bullet that needs stabilizing. Longer bullets do weigh more but it is the length that matters. I put a 24" pacnor barrel with a 1 in 8 twist because several types of the 100gr bullets would not group past 100yds. Hero at 100yds.......a zero at 300yds. I shoot in the west where shots are often 250+yds so once we have our zero (100 yds for me), we then go to 300 to make sure we are still accurate. The change in twist made a huge difference out to 300yds. Its interesting that tikka makes the 6mm with a 1 in 8 twist. Really liked your video format - down to earth. Keep'em coming!

Thanks for your comment. Tikka did change to 1 in 8 and they are hitting dealer shelves now. Personally, I still view the 243 as minimum for whitetails under 200 yds. I prefer 270, 7mm for long shots on large game.

Over several years I have probably shot around 2000-Sierra 100 grain boat tail soft point. When you shoot those out of a 1 and 10 twist you get random wondering with marginal groups Just because they are not tumbling doesn't mean they are stabilized. If bullets are on The Fringe of stability you will randomly get wobblers that cause random flyers. Shooting 100 grain boat tails out of a 1 in 8 twist is a step up in accuracy and consistency. Based on my experience. The same is true with long boat tail 95 grain.
Great video, great cartridge, great rifle.

Ballistic tips are my favorite. The SST is fabulous for accuracy. I had trouble with pass through on the two I killed though with the 7mm-08.

@@adamelam6385 I have shot a lot of deer with a 243, 6.5, 270, 7mm, 30 cal deer rifles and they all shoot through deer on broadside shots. What caliber/bullet weight have you found that won't completely penetrate a whitetail?

@@Theolddeerhunters the 7mm-08 139 SST's. I put two good behind the shoulder shots on a buck and doe. One at about 65 and one less than 50. Neither one passed through. I quit using them and went to Federal Vitol Shok 140 ballistic tips and haven't had an issue since. I can't find those this year so I'm trying Barnes TTSX 120's.

I imagine that the plastic tip and hollowed point makes them behave like a shorter bullet and thus stabilize. Can you imagine these things are spinning at over 222,000 RPM? So there is not just MV but a crap ton of angular momentum. I wonder how much the engraved rifling marks contribute to slowing of the projectile in terms of both velocity and rotational speed.
