Great informative video again Matt! I think the length of King Charles III reign may come into play regarding how collectable this is especially with constant scuttlebutt about possibly abdicating to William early.

The Commonwealth the coat of arms should keep all Elizebeth coins back. Cos she passed away already and well known queen whole this planet. If not keep the coin back , King Charles not gonna popular around this planet anymore
I just came back from the bottle shop from where I found this $1 Charles 2023 coin that I almost spent but happened to look at the back because it looked so shiny & new, I noticed Charles head on the back, The one thing I’m thinking is that this 2023 $1 coin will be special because Charles doesn’t have a crown on his head, I bet you all the other $1 Charles coins will be 2024 & will feature him with his crown as now he has been coronated, so make sure you keep the 2023 uncrowned Charles $1 coins, 3.5mil, low mintage.
I've got a roll of the KCIII $1 coins on the way. I wasn't interested in the re-issue of the coloured $2 coins. I've got the original releases. Plus I saw that certain coins were omitted from the new release, such as the 2013 coronation coin. Good luck to those who were able to get the new collection.

I tried more than a 1000 times to get the $2 coin set without any chance of getting through to them
Similar results here, tried calling from opening to closing and didnt get through. If you havent seen the release on the RAM website, they are looking to use EQL to release the rest of them which I guess is somewhat fairer
That Sucks Mate, I had No luck with Ballots and getting through to the Mint, I pulled the pin and bought off Ebay , What a Dead set Nightmare, I hope your luck changes and something Good happens for you 👍

The initial 3.5 million released with be date stamped 2023 so does that mean the next drop will be 2024? There’s not many weeks left in the year.
As for the 35th Anniversary $2 set. I snagged one from Downies. Pure fluke. I rang the Mint approx 2000 times with no luck.
I’ll try tomorrow morning as well.
My understanding is the whole 10 million will be dated 2023, this is just the first batch being released.

Another thing that excites me is that I have a feeling that the 2023 $1 Charles coin will look different than the 2024 $1 Charles coin, 2023/no crown on head, 2024/coronation crown on head, so 3.5 million out of 10 million will probably not feature Charles with his crown, I collect silver bullion coins & the same thing happened with the 1oz Britannia coin, a small amount were minted with no crown on Charles’s head when they changed from the Queen to Charles head but now the rest of the coins all feature him with the crown, so make sure you keep that uncrowned 2023 $1 coin, just found one today at the bottle store.
Great insight Matt! And spot on - this is a historically significant coin, although like the florin or the 1984 $1, probably won't end up worth a lot over any other dollar. Although only 3 million 2023 dated coins, will make it much rarer than the ridiculously hyped HH $2 coin! And 3 million doesn't seem a lot. I've still never seen a donation dollar in actual circulation (although they only made a third of what they promised with those) - being uncoloured, I expect it probably won't necessarily get as noticed or snapped out of circulation as quickly as coloured coins tend to these days. And in a couple of years, once enough of all of them are produced with the King's head, they won't be such a novelty to the average person. (And as for the 35th anniversary of the $2 - I'd have much rather seen an actual commemorative, uncoloured design for circulation. The letters 35 or something. This set no-one could actually get just seems like an uncouth cash grab for the mint, and chance for the scalpers to cash in, yet again).

@@ThompsonsCoins oh fantastic, that should be relatively accessible then. It makes sense to mint more than may be strictly needed when it's say the first of a new denomination or monarch because they know a percentage will be taken out of circulation as souvenirs. Thanks again for the info!

Yet again the Really Average Mint ( RAM ) has disappointed 😒.
Not many true collectors are going to be able to get Collector coins, only scalpers.
No Chucky either on the said release date 🤯.
I love collecting coins but the consistent disappointment from the RAM is beyond a joke.
Thanks for watching Steve! It was announced a few months ago that these $1 coins would be the very first KCIII issued in Australia so the other releases were never going to have Charles on them.
The mint will need to produce working dies for every denomination but it sounds like next year (maybe mid year) we'll see all denominations with Charles on them 😊
Hope You Boys out there were able to get your hands on a 2023 $2 Anniversary 14 coin set today , Oh my God, What an absolute 🧆Fight, I had to purchase off Ebay and it wasn't cheap, I also had a BLOWASS Pre - purchase Seller, Who Cancelled my purchase, luckily the next seller was all good Legit and not a GREED Merchant 👍and I secured a Set, What a Freaking Hectic and Stressful day, Gotta get me some of these $1 King Charles 3 rolls 👍 Good luck to All those still in the Hunt / Ballots 👍
