*If you consider hobi as elder than RM for being 6 months older than him, then RM is the TRUE MIDDLE CHILD OF BANGTAN.He has 3 people older than him and 3 people younger than him. In many ways he is the bridge that connects these two fragments and glues it to one. RM is the moonchild that bore many craters for the untainted image that bangtan has today. Korean culture essentially revolves around your age. Youngers address their elders with extreme respect because they are wise and have life experience. Elderly people in Korea(and most Asian countries, I may add) have a lot of respect from the younger generations. Another important aspect of being Korean is speaking in formal, causual, and informal language. Let's say I address an older Korean woman, I have to call her '아줌마' or '할머니' out of respect or kindness. I speak in a polite and respectful manner because she is my elder. You may also hear the members calling each other "(the member's name) +형." 형 means older brother, but it doesn't have to be blood related. This is just how younger men adress older men who are important to them. This applies even if you are not Korean. Foreigners do not get a pass to be impolite. This is also why you see Rm and the boys being polite in English, when they can, because they sometimes don't know how to adress someone properly in English. There are so many more instances of how people adress eachother, but this comment will be far too long if I even type out the bare minimum. I will reply in the comments if you want me to go into more detail. I hope this helps you :)

Hyung is a term used in korea which really just means older brother. It's just like with english people,we have to say like mister (Mr)or misses (Mrs.)or if it's like people where we say uncle or aunty,even when they're not particularly related to us, just to show that level of respect and it's honestly amazing to see the members portray that habit even Namjoon. So yes,he's a leader and also who the guys go to,makes comprises and stuff but it's still like "you may be the leader but I am still older than you,so treat me with respect".
It's funny to me how it's so fascinating for us to see all those parts of his personality, because ... If we think about it, it's a human thing, we are all like that, we have different sides to different situations, but we are surprised when we see an idol or a famous person in general being like us. Of course, they are not always the same, they are human!
I love these types of videos because it reminds us that they are human too, that they are not some kind of machine or robot that is always the same.

yes in korea the elders or the people that are older than you usually have more power and you basically need to respect them more than anyone else. that’s why there must’ve been some tiny conflicts because Seokjin and Yoongi need to follow someone younger than them so it’s weird, but yk how they are not the type to really want to be “superior” and i don’t think namjoon would abuse from this title so ig it’s okay now.
