S5E9 Tom's Diner Suzanne Vega DNA 1990

In 1987 Suzanne Vega dropped her 2nd album Solitude Standing. On the strength of the single Luka, she was nominated for 3 Grammy Awards. A 3rd single was released in Europe only called Tom's Diner. This was a spoken word only "song' that she also added an instrmental vesrion on the album. Fast forward to 1990 when 2 producers who called themselves DNA took her words and dropped Soul II Soul's "Keep On Movin'" in the background and brought it to nightclubs without any label permission. Soon enough the label got word and Suzanne liked it so they...bought it!
