Ofcourse It was full of finance back then... credit cards and bank loans built the cars ....
OK but when a car is on finance (PCP or even CS/HP) you can't modify it. When you buy a car with a bank loan, it's your car. So at least people owned their vehicles. Now it's literally just "get a car on PCP, stick a stage 1 tune on it, pull up to a show" and everyones car looks exactly the same. @@BazingaTing

Man loved the video and that mk2 cav was wicked due to cost of living it's impossible now to follow my dream of building my own car I loved these retro cars especially saxos pugs ford escorts etc it great seeing some are still alive we were so lucky to live in a great car era

Bit harsh on the line of Focus STs tbh not everyone has the knowledge ability money space tools etc to build special cars like you can, most people into cars just buy the most decent car that they can afford and that's about as far as they can go. Anyway not trying to start an argument here your content is mint and show looked awesome.

I think it’s a fair point tbh, 20 years ago on a Sunday night, you would pull into McDonald’s and every car would be different. Half of the cars weren’t painted the same colours and had dodgy work but it’s a fair point to say people made an effort to be different with what they had

I wish we still had the car scene like those days. Now there are the odd decent builds but almost the whole lot is a diesel with a remap or if you're really lucky a pcp special with an intake and exhaust.
It used to be almost every street had something with a bodykit and an engine conversion but now it seems like people are so scared to make a statement they just don't bother and blend into the boring grey dross that cars have become.
90% of them were bodged up sheds though
the only statement your making driving something like these around in this day and age is that you are a bit of a numpty
got to be honest though i do enjoy seeing them still about for nostalgic reasons

Yea unfortunately it for broken up for parts an shell never got rebuilt. I spoke to the builder not long ago when tracking down old cars

id say the only car in this video which has stood the test of time is the green Nova... and I'm not a Vauxhall fan.
Individualism. There are loads of Corsa's, Astra's, Fiestas and Escorts, so what are you going to do to yours to make it unique and stand out? That's what it (was) all about. Full resprays cost a lot, but if you love your car you would do it. Anyone could have a Saxo, but what if you had the fastest and best looking Saxo in the UK?
People now a days get a 40 50k car on tick, stick a map on it and that's it.... wtf
