My mother has vascular dementia. She plays solitaire from her kindle and also plays online hidden objects games from her laptop. That's the only games that keeps her occupied. 😊
Thank you so much for this video! My Grandmother is struggling with the beginning to middle stages of dementia and I really want to make the holidays special for her. I LOVE the idea of the photo puzzle! I think I am going to use one from her wedding and one with family! That is such a wonderful idea! 💕
I like your videos and they are helpful but the back ground music makes my head hurt.
I'll work on making the intro/outro song lower. I'm glad you are finding the videos helpful.
That blanket idea is excellent as my mom used to sew
I love your gift ideas. What about a gift of a food snack item, like tootsie rolls or suckers, mixed nuts or a jar of shelled peanuts? Also what about a magazines of their favorite subject? Like a horse magazine, or one about boats?
Subtitle all the photos identifying locations and what they are such as park where they had a first date and who the people are.
If their dementia isnt bad yet let your loved one help put the album together.
How about a decorative bucket with a variety of balls. The balls can be different textures, sizes, and colors. You can play catch, or toss the balls into the bucket. These games always spark laughter and conversation. You can continue to add balls to the bucket as you find interesting ones as you shop.
Thank you for your videos I am able to have all the patients to my lovely Mother suffering from this cruel disease
Thanks Doc for your videos. You are certainly very helpful.
I wish I had found your channel while I still had my mom. But I have an elderly friend who has dementia. I try to get her o
Wow, really excellent ideas!
Just came across your video, these great ideas. Thank you
The background music is too loud. I can barely understand what you're saying.
Thank you for these ideas. I will definitely use several of them. Do you have any ideas specifically for loved ones with dementia that are legally blind?
thank you.
What gift ideas do you have for your loved one with dementia?
Have you ever given advise by phone?? I have a person I'm close with who is a caretaker and she is very very lost and needs knowledge. I'm sure you don't but if you do please let me know. Thank you for your service. Caretaker J.
This vid gave me some great ideas I know you did this video yrs ago but I been a sub for about a yr now. I know some of these ideas I will use for 🎁s for My Dad , you also gave me great actives to do with my Dad as well . I appricate you and all your videos you do. Thank you ❤ 🙏 🙋♀️
How about LATE stage dementia? I've done socks, slippers, fidget blankets (don't work), & on & on & on? Flowers I bought every wk for 7 yrs, no longer work! Help!
Thank you Dr. Nataly . In 2021 the last doctor that saw my husband told him he has dlbp. But this is been coming from maybe 1 /12 . His always had a big headache among others thins . I like the ideas about a foto album and I know his going to be very hurtful not to reconoce our grandkids but thinking about it maybe black and white pictures maybe hill remember them like that .
Great videos
The gift giving ideas were very helpful. Thank you
My husband with vascular dementia loves music. I got him dvds of concerts by some of his favorite musicians. Thanks for sharing other ideas.
What would you all the tools sets or nuts and bolts through Amazon for dementia patients.
love your advice and wisdom but the music behind your videos is too loud.
Do you have a video helping with what to do as a caretaker who is frustrated, shaking & feel like they're reaching a breaking point??
My question is what to do when dementia patient husband wants a full meal every two hours ?no snacks , just full meals with spup and all ?
At minute marker 9:50 did anyone see that "orb" floating up from by the artificial tree towards the right side of the video. Or maybe I need new glasses ! Lol
Barbara J- OMG. I had to watch to see what you are talking about. Your eyes are perfect...there is an orb! I record in front of a window, so I’m hoping it had something to do with that and NOT that my house is haunted. Lol
Careblazers: dementia care heroes . I replayed it several times to make sure it wasn't fuzz from the blanket or maybe dust. Maybe a special patient of yours that has past on that is lovingly close by. You're a gentle soul and I could understand a past patient still wanting to be close. I'm glad you saw it too! Lol
That is so kind of you to say. What a nice way to look at the situation. Much better than a haunted house. :)
There is also a much smaller one at about 9:33 that could be dust but it sure is moving faster than a small speck of floating dust should be moving. It comes out of the tree in about the middle and goes left, turns right, moves down and the disappears.
I found a game we play for OT when I was in therapy. Q-Bitz! Looking up, lots of fun! A great idea for cognitive therapy.
You can get alot of these items at a thrift store, especially stuffed animals or dolls and music.
I'm looking into how to reply to all, but seems my careblazer brain is a bit overwhelmed. I can't figure the stuff out. Any suggestions or is there a email or something I'm missing? I'm still waiting to slow down.
Karin, email me at careblazers@gmail.com and tell me what you are looking for.
I used to Watch movie with my brother,hè loves Bruce Lee.💙
great info. please cancel the background music. it is Very distracting and hard to hear you. plus that loud swishing sound when you give a new idea. thanks for helping me w my new client.
I made the exact same comment about that whooshing sound. It was probably done by a young person who was helping her. That would be my guess.
Very good ideas for gifts. I’m wondering though why the loud whooshing sounds with each image. It’s very distracting and VERY unsettling.
Music is very distracting
Go Titan's
Cant hear her for that ridiculous background music
I agree that soft material blankets, clothes, pjs are such good gifts. My mother in law loves her velvet pjs i bought her. She always comments how soft they are.
