i love your new format and how you speak directly into the camera. it's great getting to see your face and feels like we're having a conversation
Aw thank you!! It was scary at first but I do feel it’s more personal so I’m glad you like it!
I never thought of using my Apple Watch to make reminders 😊👍
It’s a life changer!! Haha
Genius!! It never occurred to me either to use my watch. I will try this today
Yay! Yesss give it a try it’s literally a game changer!!!
I just completed my monthly prep for August and I made a checklist to follow which includes reviewing my calendar to see if anything on it needs backward planning (ie. getting a gift, sending a card so it's not late, making food for a get-together, etc.). Also on the list is taking items from my cleaning list and project list and adding them to my monthly to-do. Love your tip! I've been gathering sticky notes from around the house and adding them to my planner to-do. I've been following the Franklin Covey Planning system but also ordered the David Allen GTD book. I'll start reading that after I finish the Stephen Covey 7 habits book which is SO GOOD!!!
Ooo yes a checklist is a great idea! I have a "routine list" but I need to get better at using it! This is a great reminder! Also GTD and Franklin Covey are my faves!!!
I am really starting to enjoy your videos -- thank you
Thank you!!
I think the more we practice writing things down and prioritizing them will help us improve our planning process. I had redone my goal setting for 2023, and I realized that I didn't incorporate my long-term and short-term goals. Therefore, when I attempted to do my yearly goal setting I just blanked out. So I figured, I needed to envision my long-term goals first and see if anything I needed do currently would help me eventually get to my future dream goals. I know some would just say focus on the present and stop thinking about the future. But I feel the future is also important.
I also recommend watching Amy Landino where she really focus on planning and productivity process.
Totally! I’m terrible at setting goals but this is such an important tip! I’m going to try to work on this more next year as well, thanks for the reminder!
My brain is the most productive on my daily walks. Getting my blood pumping gets my brain swirling and I think of so many things I want/need to remember to do. The Apple Watch reminder is gonna be a game changer!
Yessss! I couldn’t recommend anymore! Thanks for watching!
I text myself if I get a random task I need to remember but don't have my planner with me. I plan to take phone pic of my weekly spread post planning session.
Oooo love these tips!! Do you take a pic of the weekly so that you don’t need to carry your planner??
Omg yes I have this problem of having all these thoughts and then forgetting
Definitely doesn't help when you have attention issues too 😭
What I personally use is either my passport tn (which is also my wallet) or a certain note app on my phone. I'll always have either or on me, so this has been working out well so far ❤❤
ooo ya great idea! what notes app do you use??
Honestly I just use colornote xD no particular reason, it just happened to be the first note app I ever used and I ended up sticking with it for over a decade oof 😭
To be fair I don't need any extra features. The fact that it has to do lists and categories is good enough for me 😊
Hi, could you share all your tools digital/ watch/iPad/ planner and how you go through them to plan your week/day, like a step by step? TIA!
Ahh great idea!! I had this on my list and wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested but would love to do a video on this!
@@MomYePlans thanks! 🙏🤓
Love this reminder! Do you have other suggestions for immediate capture? Such a fun video 😊
Aw thank you! So really my watch has been my main one, I try not to have too many just because then I'll forget all the places I recorded lol! So I try to do watch reminders and then really google calendar for date specific things if I have my phone or laptop! Thanks so much for watching!
@@MomYePlans good point, I'm good at forgetting where I wrote things down 😬
I’m a long time user of a Franklin Covey planner, and I’m not familiar with GTD. How would you compare the two systems? Thanks in advance.
I also follow the Stephen Covey planner method and i'm reading his book 7 Habits for more insight. I've also got the GTD book by David Allen on the shelf and I'll see if he has good tips to add. The thing I LOVE about the 7 habits though is ....first thing I do is review my roles and decide what I need to do that week to support those roles and that goes in the planner to-do list first and then I add other stuff around that. This has been game changing for me. I now schedule time to visit my daughter and her family in Vermont FIRST, instead of seeing what time might be available later in the year. Same with my family in PA and working on projects with my husband and doing stuff with my friends. Scheduling the stuff that's most important FIRST. I also have a list of stuff I'd 'like' to do (walk on the beach) and schedule those in first too.
So I would say GTD is better at task management and what to do with a list of tasks whereas I think Franklin Covey is better for the planner aspect i.e. using monthlies, weeklies dailies etc! I actually have a video comparing the two I'll link here: czcams.com/video/r66g5WxYjN8/video.html
