Boat ride in Akagera National Park

One of the activities to enjoy while you are in #Akagera park is a boat trip in the morning, in a day, or at the sunset. Akagera National park is managed by Akagera Management Company; which is a partnership between the Rwanda Government through Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and African Parks a non-profit conservation organization that takes on the complete management and rehabilitation of Africa national parks in partnership with the government and local communities around the park. Since this partnership started in 2010, Akagera is a changed park, with the number of animals, increased from less than 5000 to over 13000, poaching has been reduced to the minimum levels and tourism income increased as African parks have the experts of bringing a business approach to conservation. Not only the animals increased and tourism flourished but also the communities surrounding the park are receiving the tangible benefit of living around the park thought different community engagement programs and mainly through employment.
