Moon Titans | Spirit: Stallion of Cimarron | SSD Chronicles of Youth

Hey there everyone! We had so much fun making this routine for SSD's Chronicles of Youth competition. Being challenged to pick a nostalgic theme, use asymmetric shapes and stay off the outside track/midlines was certainly difficult but we perservered and we are so happy with the result! Riders kept all mechanical aspects of their dressage in check and we can't wait to see what you think of the routine, Enjoy!
~ Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron ~
The routine begins with Spirit’s birth, surrounded by his herd in a protective arrow formation. This symbolizes unity and guidance as the newborn joins the world. As Spirit grows, the herd forms a large, sweeping circle, highlighting his leadership and the unity within the group. The movements are confident and fluid, reflecting his growing strength. The tranquility shatters as Spirit is separated from his herd. The horses move in sharp, erratic lines, depicting his turmoil and confusion, emphasizing the chaos. Spirit meets Rain, symbolized by a spiralling pinwheel formation. Their growing bond is shown through synchronized, harmonious movements. Captured by the army, the horses' movements become rigid and constrained, mirroring the harsh reality of pulling a train. The tension is palpable, reflecting captivity and loss of freedom. Spirit's escape is depicted with daring, jagged movements, representing his leap over the canyon. The jump is marked by precision and power, highlighting his bravery and the climactic moment of liberation. Finally, Spirit reunites with his herd in an asymmetric heart shape, symbolizing his bond with Rain and the herd. The routine concludes with fluid, harmonious movements celebrating resilience, love, and freedom.
