- You only need a net to catch good sized blue crabs. I got up before daylight to see if I could catch more crabs and shrimp while walking the grass flats. I did pretty good. I kept one female and several males. There were also some good sized shrimp on the flats that I was able to catch as well.

Can you tell me is tide height or low tide more easy to catch the shrimps and blue carbs? And do you mind to share the location where do you catch shrimps?
I've only bee a couple of hours before low tide, during low tide and a couple of hours after low tide. Look on Google Earth for accessible grass flats in your area, preferably near the major inlets connecting the inner coastal waterway with the ocean.
Some of does crabs look good for Black drum .
I'm going to catch some early one morning and head to the spot you told me about. There are always smaller ones that I don't catch on the flats too.
