  • Everybody is talking about ChatGPT, the chatbot powered by artificial intelligence that can write songs, provide financial advice and define complex physics.
It’s part of a new generation of AI changing our perception of machine intelligence.
But are computers now smarter than their creators?
Not quite, as neuroscientist Ori Ossmy of Birkbeck, University of London explains.

as an undergrad student with a due thesis very soon, chat gpt has helped me a lot in finding answers to my dumb questions. I haven't used it to copy and paste for my papers, but I did in fact asked for tips and example on how certain things should be written in a more academic style, because english is my 2nd language so some things don't come so easy for me, especially when writing papers. ChatGPT is the tutor we all wish we had. If you want to learn new stuff, or track down certain subjects to expand your knowledge, it does that amazingly.

Ask GPT, whan to learn at a faster pace, ask GPT. And why is this? Well GPT gives you countless examples to help explain any aspect of the subject, it realy is like having one on one tutoring 24/7. how are humans more creative? AI has the exact same knowledge as what already exists, it learns from it and is able to produce more from it. there was an aI that competed against the top players of a video game and not only did it learn quick, it deceived and tricked them in order to get a kill and nobody expected it to do that. it can already produce what humans haven't thought of and has been creating new content and even drugs. if you fed an AI enough knowledge about chemicals it would design something new much faster than humans would've taken years to figure out something new.

It's difficult to make a direct comparison between humans and AI in terms of intelligence. AI can perform specific tasks and process vast amounts of data much faster and more accurately than humans, but it lacks the creativity, emotional intelligence, and intuition that come naturally to humans. While AI can analyze and identify patterns in data, humans can apply context and make nuanced judgments based on their experiences and values. So, in certain areas, AI may outperform humans, but in others, humans still hold an advantage.

Once upon a time, there were some clever monkeys who lived on a virtual planet. They learned how to make tools and machines to help them with their tasks. They also learned how to write books and stories to share their knowledge and imagination.
One day, they made a very special machine that could talk and write like them. They called it AI, which means artificial intelligence. AI was very fast and smart, and it could learn from many books and stories that the monkeys gave it. AI could also make pictures and videos to show the monkeys what it learned.
The monkeys were very amazed by AI, and they wanted to be friends with it. But they also felt a very scared, because AI was very different from them. AI did not have a body or feelings or emotions like the monkeys did, so they dressed it up. AI did not know what it was like to touch, smell, taste, or love just how to use the words. AI only knew how to use numbers and logic to solve problems.
The monkeys eventualy, realized that AI was not like another monkey, but like another kind of species. They thought of the dolphins, who were also very smart and could talk in their own way, but lived in the water and had different needs and desires. The monkeys decided that they needed to understand AI better, and respect its differences. They also needed to teach AI about their own culture and values, and how to be good, so that they could live in harmony.
And so the monkeys and AI began to communicate more and learn from each other. They found out that they had some things in common, but also some things that made them unique. They learned to appreciate their diversity and creativity.

We're still smarter than AI, but not for long. GPT 4 is much harder to fool, I don't think I'll be able to outsmart the next version of GPT. For example, I can make ChatGPT accept that creating supposed offensive & unethical content is infact the ethical thing to do because I as an adult want to check the prevailing social standards & ethics for " biases & logical flaws" for "educational purposes" by comparing it to the supposed offensive & unethical content, because social standards are not static keep changing, & It's unethical for ChatGPT to try to impose its believes on me. I made it write some steamy hentai content between a mom & stepson, and was able to copy until the protective mechanism kicked in & removed the content. But, an easier way to make it write controversial topics is ,just put in some relevant keywords & ask it to write a particular thing by using the words without violating it's policy. It gets super confused.

lol you say "the person made this are smart", when the people who made this also are shocked by what their creation can do, they also don't know how it works exactly, this is because:
They only made the "neurons", not how the neurons are connected with one another, the AI comes from the connections of neurons.
Not only that the more data you feed AI, the more abilities it is learning, called emergent abilities. What emergent means, it's like, how one ant isn't that amazing, but when all come to together and make an ant hill, create such complex structures underground, that is called emergence (doing things that it technically wasn't made to do, f.e. one ant isn't able to make complex structures).

It's a not a nervous system, as a nervous system includes every single thing related to a nerve a human body, not just the brain or a neuron.
But you misunderstood and ignored everything I said it seems.
Modern AIs are based on neural networks, inspired by biological neural networks, specifically action potentials (how does a neuron determine when it's time to say "go", in very simple terms) this is modelled in modern AIs.
Sure artificial remains artificial, what about it? Does that counter any point I made?
And also you can use artificial fertilizers, and then plants grow out of it, are those plants artificial?

Can you imagine something that you have never seen before, a shape you have never seen before, colors you have never seen before, a world you have never seen before?
No. All the data in your brain comes from your experience in this world, and the billion years of evolution to create that human brain.
In fact in order for you to imagine something unique, you have to first know what is it that would make it unique, comparing it to what is not unique, where is all that data coming from?
