My favourite Edwill van der Merwe bit was after the Liam Williams' intercept at 21:42. Edwill tackles Williams, and as Williams goes down, he offloads to Mason Grady. Edwill is already back on his feet and tackles Grady too. I went back and watched it again and timed it. About 1.5 seconds between tackles. Fucking savage!

Sasha looked great, despite an early handling error didn't let it impact him. Loved the confidence in his kicking.

Realistically quite a disjointed disappointing outing for the Boks but they had a mixed bag team in this first game post RWC; plenty of silly unforced/avoidable errors, Hail Mary backflip passes, crooked/over-throw lineout inputs etc. But, GREAT to see the bright star Edwill Vd Merwe who made so many clever contributions & Sacha Feinberg-M showing slick promise & Fassi great under the high ball. Boks have to learn how to actually score when they get over the line; too often they are held up!
Rassie will blood the hell out of the young players against minnows. Expect more of this. He does not give a crap about our negative opinions. Support the coach and his vision. Watch out for Sacha…he might just get in to the Ireland 22. Jaydon will get better.

A short while back, when uncle Ed was still coaching the English, he wanted Sacha over there in England (his dad is English). Luckily, he stayed in SA.

I was Twickenham for the game and got to fulfill one of my sports bucket lists and see Wales play South Africa (and one of my favourite players Kwagga) in person really enjoyed the Rugby. PSDT and Dewi Lake (the moistest man in rugby 😉) were both great captains. Congrats on the well-earned win South Africa and eternal respect to the Bokke and Rassie from a Wales supporter. Personally im happy with the outcome of the game. I think the coaching staff now has a clearer picture of the future. Fassie isn't just talented, he's super smart on the field. with a bit of guidance (Shadowing Le Roux) he can playmaker from 15, similar style to his club rugby. Rassies vision of a running, lighter springbok setup is coming together.
As a Stormer, Roos is a flat track bully. Has had a great seaon, but a walking penalty. Botched 2 tries today because of lack of game awareness or perhaps just trying a tad too hard. Like my 8s in the ilk of a Vermuelen, not Kankowski. Just my opinion.
We were spared a 50 point drubbing by a pretty weak performance by SA standards. Our attack is so undynamic I wouldn't trust us to score a try against a tier 3 nation.

Big argument for Wales to be announced as a Tier Two team. They are simply not ready in any capacity to face the big names as far as international level goes. Yes, that was a slightly inexperienced side, but there were still some main players in the team, and they've been dominated by the Springboks. Game went as expected. Look at the Welsh team, depth and experience just isn't there. They've heart and fight to the last though. A good Boks team with some new blooding of players but shit load of experienced players too beating Wales isn't exactly a mind blowing result.
So my thought of the match. Agree 1st half boks looked like they still needed to find each other. I agree Jordan should have take the corner instead of posts with the 1 penalty. He still had nerves so ease in would have been better. V.D merwe wow what a debut potm double tackle save a try and scored his own try just beautiful. My biggest issue was the ref that swallowed his whistle and farted through his ass. Why ask the tmo for a review on fassi's ''dangerous '' play if he already made up his mind. With tmo and 2 touch refs saying just a penalty no card needed he still gave the card. Fassi might not have a Willie le roux or Damian Willemse kicking game but he has a running game play the high ball and already running before he touch the ground. Yes he does need some work however i think he had a good game. The right wing that took Fassi out in the air was committed and that should have been a card. World rugby want to bring in new laws and changes to get a better flow of the game but who do they want to achieve that when the ref and tmo debat replay after replay after replay for 5min long. The tmo had a lot of say in the game as well which almost felt confusing as to who the actual ref was. Vincent Koch biy 50th cap and did he scrum for that 50. PSDT beautiful leadership and Eben with assist made them both a very good leadership pair. What more can be said besides we had 20min 13 players on the pitch not using that to our advantage and scored points. My 2cents not worth much over all. Great start bokke to the international rugby.

Happens every tackle at the goal line. If that is a red, might as well allow the try as soon as teams enter the 5 meter mark. Those calling for a red are probably the same folks crying about the QF and SF.

Fassi might not have a Willie le roux or Damian Willemse kicking game but he has a running game play the high ball and already running before he touch the ground. Yes he does need some work however i think he had a good game. The right wing that took Fassi out in the air was committed and that should have been a card.
World rugby want to bring in new laws and changes to get a better flow of the game but who do they want to achieve that when the ref and tmo debat replay after replay after replay for 5min long. The tmo had a lot of say in the game as well which almost felt confusing as to who the actual ref was.

@@Wildkard His tackle was like millions of others where both players are 90 degrees bent over. Red is a ridiculous conclusion, shoulder made first contact with opp shoulder, heads were secondary. Happens every tackle at the goal line. If that is a red, might as well allow the try as soon as teams enter the 5 meter mark. Those calling for a red are probably the same folks crying about the QF and SF.

The TMO was blind! Since South African try shouldn't have counted, because there was a clear forward pass by South Africa. Also, Bongi Momamabi, should had been red-carded when he clashed heads with a Welsh dude, without an attempt to wrap his arms. I guess the TMO was paid good enough South African Money. (JK=Joking) 😄.
Also Wildkard, quick question..... After the game did Stan Sports or 9 Network included the Captains/ Players post match interviews that they normally do? Because here in Skysports 2 in New Zealand the rugby stream cut off without seeing any of the post-match Interviews.

No offense. But I can't even watch any reviews from any creators for this game without cringing. Everyone is sh%ting on the boks for not playing as we know they can. But no one is talking about how sh%t Wales were. Playing against a misfiring bok team, ending the game 41 - 13 is a hammering. Why is no one talking about the kiddies pool Wales call squad depth? Poor dissipline, lack of leaderships, fitness and the replacements. Not one creator is mentioning this.. 🤷
