      I think the original plans for the exhaust were no bolting ability for the fender. I had thought for months of a way I could make a bracket so I could keep the rear mud guard, but they worked it into the design and I am stoked on it. I take it offroad just about every week so the mud guards are a must. Thank you for watching, more to come in this new year!

    That one sounds the best out of everything I’ve heard including the updated Vance and Hines one.
    The Yoshimura just makes it sound like a sport bike and not a scooter and that’s exactly what I’m looking for. I even like that it makes it idle like a sports bike and not that bubbly sound.

    • @pookythomasmoto9147
      @pookythomasmoto9147  Před rokem +2

      People compare this to Smoke but the build quality and finish is just what you’d expect from yoshimura anyways. They always give 100%.

    • @lostintheclouds8719
      @lostintheclouds8719 Před rokem +2

      @@pookythomasmoto9147 honestly after comparing yours to other yosh for navi videos and smoke, i am really leaning towards smoke because he sounds very similar to yosh but i find yosh to sound more like a dirt bike at higher speed then smoke. Smoke sounds deeper. What’s your take on Smoke?
      The yosh has rep, build quality, like a name you can trust. I don’t know much about Smoke other than some satisfied navi owners loving his exhaust too. One diff i spot is smoke doesn’t spit flames like yosh. I know some yosh users either did or didn’t do the supportive mods so i know that plays a role but some who did the supportive mods, still spit flames.
      It’s been a hard choice for me - I’m still between them

      @@lostintheclouds8719 Are you the guy on the navi forum that posted that the smoke sounded more like a harley? I think someone posted that it sounded like a dirtbike too. I mean all this motor is a crf110 motor modified so the sound output is going to be the same.
      During idle when warmed up it actually fluctuates like a high idle harley. The comparison is there. If you don’t care for lightweight and carbon fiber you can go for the smoke. Lead times are atrocious I’ve heard. The guy hand makes them and it takes months just to ship it to you. When a manufacturer like yoshimura has them in stock you’ll get it in a week or less. More performance with the yoshimura if you care for that too.

    • @lostintheclouds8719

      @@pookythomasmoto9147 actually I’m female so not a guy.
      Yeah I think I posted that the smoke sounds more kind of like a Harley whereas I think I also said that Yoshi sounded more like a dirtbike at high revs.
      I’m very split b/t yosh and smoke. There are certain things I like about smoke but I don’t really know much about the longevity of it. I also don’t want to wait that long for the exhaust. I definitely care for lightweight, carbon fiber, and better performance.
      What did you mean by lead times? There was one thing that concerned me about smoke, it is when I saw the welds on his piping. That caused concern.
      Ty for your reply b/c I’m still split but it helps talking to ppl like you who are knowledgeable. I’m gonna talk to my shop who endorsed yosh and v&h too. Even though v&h just came out with their updated version I still don’t like it. it’s nothing compared to the yosh for me. I also hear it is very heavy.
      It’s not the money holding me back from yosh. I have the money, I just am so split right now between certain things about both of them.
      I thank you for your reply because now you have me leaning more towards yosh and I probably am going to do something with the intake and if I do that I already know what I have to do regarding that exhaust.

      @pookythomasmoto9147  Před rokem

      @@lostintheclouds8719 my apologies. I have heard on the facebook forums that smoke has an extended lead time because he’s like the only one manufacturing them with little help. I saw one person state they ordered over a month and a half ago and still have no shipping clarification.
      I am doing the intake and re-jet soon. Going to post a video on it this spring as well as the EGR delete (apparently) with aftermarket exhausts. Let me know if I can help any further. Thanks for watching!

    Great video. I think I'm gonna get that exhaust this summer. My bike is all stock. Can this just be thrown on and the bike will run ok or do you have to rejet the carb? Also where did u get the mirrors? The stock ones have go to go.

    • @pookythomasmoto9147
      @pookythomasmoto9147  Před rokem +2

      It is best to order this Exhaust directly from Yoshimura themselves. Yes, this exhaust works with stock intake and carb settings from factory. I haven’t done a rejet or intake, but this summer I will cover all that for those who want to. The mirrors are by MZS tuning on amazon. They work really well and hold great. I’ve had no issues. You will also need to purchase generic bar ends to clamp the mirrors to. Thanks for watching!

      So with the exhaust itself it sounds like a CRF110F with an aftermarket exhaust. It’s much louder than stock, but I inserted a spark arrestor screen Yoshimura sells and it quieted exhaust tone down much better

    • @pookythomasmoto9147
      @pookythomasmoto9147  Před rokem

      I checked beforehand. The stock exhaust uses a copper round gasket around the flange near the head studs. You DO NOT re-use nor order a new one for the Yoshimura. I have seen others doing the same. I even tried fitting the gasket around the yoshimura header and it wouldn’t go on.
