Looking at the death of said Exorcist, there's only one of three possibilities for how they had died;
1: They messed with the wrong Sinner/Overlord
2: A Higher Angel/Another Exorcist killed them to increase the amount of Exterminations
3: Darwin Awards can be issued in the Afterlife

people who winge about being spioled after a clear soiler warning are just looking for an exscuses to be petty.
or 4: The "hapless sinner" who almost ended up a casualty got very desperate to survive and decapitated one with their own weapon, discovering this entirely by accident.
I think it could be Lilith... But that's only because of the rumors that she's gonna be a "big bad".

I have my money on it being Charlie or Lucifer. She’s the only one who’s powerful enough, and has ample motive.
With the condition that the body was left in, it can’t be Alastor, as he would most likely snack on it to see what it tastes like, and dispose of the body in such a way that it wouldn’t be found.
It can’t be Carmella Carmine, as she would take the body to study it.
No, with the way it was left, it would appear that whoever killed the exorcist was innocent enough to leave the body untouched, and that they heavily regretted their action. All signs point to Charlie.
If it were a run of the mill sinner, then they would not only brag about it, but also do some inappropriate things with the body.
The big question is *WHO* managed to kill this Exorcist Angel and *HOW?*
I think it's what will happen in the serie, we will discover how and who killed the angel

Vivizpop said only angels can die from other angels as demoic power can't effect them.
But does that mean if you use a angel weapon mean you can kill the lower level angel, since we know for a fact that high level angels can only be kill by other angels of a similar power or more.
But exorcist seem pretty low since their humans turned angels, meaning a overlord possible use their weapon against them.
Hey, she also said that Stolas was much more powerful than Alastor, and despite that Striker had him against the wall and he could have died and the only thing he needed was a couple of scavenged angelic stuff

Keep in mind that although Vox claimed that he wrecked Alastor 7 years ago We learn from Valentino earlier in the same episode that Vox almost lost that fight. With Alastor later saying that Vox is not that powerful without the other Vs(with the other Vs even smiling when he said that) it makes me think that Vox won the last fight mainly thanks to the help of the other Vs and that even with their help he almost lost according to Valentino. That would explain why Vox is so insecure and visibly scared of Alastor because even now with 7 years of gaining power he is still not confident in beating Alastor in a 1vs1 fight without the help of the other Vs. When Vox caused the city wide blackout it did not effect Alastor at all which I think is the storys way of showing us that even with all this power that Vox has he still is no match for Alastor.

I petsonally think, That mabye Vox fled from Alastor? That he got too cocky and challenged him? But Alastor didnt feel intetested in killing Vox, and let him go...perhaps bevause Vox keeps hes After-Life interesting? Its gard to say, but thats my personal Theory...
Exactly, I don‘t really understand how a „he nearly defeated you“ can be translated into „you beat him“. Seeing that Alastor used to kill the overlords he fought with, „nearly defeating“ likely means, Vox got away with his life, and that‘s it.

I think it was Lilith, both her and Alastor disappeared seven years ago in the show, it was also stated that Lilith cared about the sinners. I could imagine her getting sick of the extermination and deciding to develop anti angle weapons with alastor and possibly someone else.
then they would have deplayed them in bigger amounts or killed more angles. the fact that only 1 died shows imo that this was a test drive for a selfish deed. first check out if i can do it, then see how i can benefit the most of it
Lilith’s trading card has a smile, but no face, the dead angel is frowning and they usually smile, I don’t think this theory’s improbable
It’s been theorised that they did it with Roo, who some believe to be Eve after she ate the Apple of Eden.
Sounds reasonable enough maybe Lilith commissioned Camilla to make said anti angel weaponry.

Whoever killed the exorcist must be a future big bad. Maybe Roo or a hidden enemy not revealed by vivzie, plus they only killed one exorcist so they either ambushed the angel or lured the exorcist into a trap. So whoever they are must be practicing if they are capable of killing an angel.

Oh yeah i defintly think its Roo, we really never got much info but viz did say they would be a very interesting character she hopes to reveal one day and considering the Vs, Alistor and lucifer are already shown, this has to be work of someone mysterius and roo fits the bill
Or it is adam himself. I can see it play out like this:
Adam and an exorcist have a fight over something that is mildly important.
Adam tells them he is their boss, the original exorcist or human and that he has the power to do anything. And he ends up killing them. Then he realises what he has done and thinks of a way out of this sticky situation. So, he plants the body in hell and blames the sinners. This also is an excuse for him to shorten the time between the exterminations.
I can see him even blaming Charlie for killing the exorcist. I see him saying:
She s the daughter of the one who brought evil to Earth.
Or something along those lines
Maybe it was Carmilla Carmine, she is the overlord who creates blessing weapons. So, maybe it was her.

Many people are theorizing that another angel killed them just for an excuse to speed up the exterminations. But, what if it was instead done by an angel who got caught doing something that would have had them killed by heaven or something like that? Then the exorcist that found them out was killed to preserve their secret.
Maybe that angel worked alongside Lilith or Alastor or a new villian in the show

Some theories speculate that Vaggie’s a former exorcist. I didn’t believe in it before, but now I think that this is pretty likely
It could also be one of the Overlords or even a Deadly Sin who happened to have been visiting from another Ring, and was mistaken for a common Sinner.

I have a theory that Alastor left for other reason and not because of the fight with Vox. Vox says that Alastor has been gone for 7 years and at the beginning of the first episode, after Charlie tells the story of lucifer and Lilith, she mentions that she hasn't heard from her mom in 7 years. I think that Lilith knew heaven was out of control and so found some demons strong enough to help and they have ben planning on how to take down the angles in secret. They had one successful fight with an exterminator to prove they could kill then and now Alastor is back and teaming up with Charlie as part of the rest of Liliths plan.

I dont think youre entirely wrong here. Just bc the angel was killes by Carmilla(or one of her daughters), your theory doesnt fall apart at all. I do like this idea and it would be fun to play around with more!! :D

Something i noticed about the designs, Angelic characters have a Grey outline to their designs, while hellborn and humans have black outlines (aside from angel dust who seems to be the exception with a red outline, breaking with the design trend), so... may be possible that Vaggie is a fallen angel , following the other similarities of Vaggie to the exterminators

Theory: With the death of the exterminator it's more about the loss of being infallible. According to his song, Adam really believes that he's never been wrong before in his life. Adam along with the other exterminators have done the cleansing year after year without a hitch. Since, Charlie's plan is to get people to heaven it's going to stop the party. Alastair managed to survive Adam's flock throughout his tenure in Hell. With the death of the Angel the coming war will be very entertaining for Alastair.

At the end of Episode one, we saw t hem recover the body. But I didn't see a head; so, WHO EVER KILLED THAT ANGEL HAS IT!!!
I think it's likely someone like sera killed the exorcist so she'll have an excuse to wipe out all of hell.

By the way, in episode 1 Charlie mentioned Lillith was gone for 7 years and so was Alastor (mentioned by Vox).
My shot in the dark is that it was an angel that did it. Possibly even Adam or Lute working under Adam's instruction. Someone who wanted the instigate the angelic forces into moving the extermination up but didn't want anyone to know about them.

I noticed something Lute said when talking to Charlie, "The only reason you're still here is because Daddy gave you and your Hellborn Kind a Pardon from an Exhorcist's blade",
So this would confirm that only Sinners are at risk during the Exterminations, not Hellhounds, Imps, the Goetias, the Seven Sins, etc. Unless Lute only meant Charlie and her relatives?
Today's the day it finally came out, and although I won't say who did it. It is interesting that we got to know it quite sooner rather than later. Expected it to be a dramatic reveal later in the show. Anyhow, It is an amazing show. Watched all 4 episodes today!

Something I noticed Watching the newest episodes.
Charlie says that she hasn't heard from her Mom in 7 years, she says this to vaggie in episode 1 at the beginning. Later in episode 2 its revealed that alastor was gone for 7 years as well. This could be huge hidden in plain sight, as it could elude to alastor and Lilith having a deal or at least knowing eachother in some way. Perhaps Alastor made a deal with Lilith 7 years ago too help Charlie knowing she would try to redeem sinners, what alastor gained from this is unknown but its likely not physical power but political for being an ally of the Royals

Well, the killer has been revealed as of episode 3. But I admit, I was assuming that the Overlords (and probably the nine Princes as well, including Lucifer) were capable of killing an angel if pushed. They just chose not to for the reason revealed in episode 3: the consequences would be outright war between Heaven and Hell.
This explains why the Overlords were in hiding during the extermination. If they met the exterminators in combat, the chsnce either they would be killed or they would have to kill an angel would be too grest. Since Vox and Velvette didn't know angels can't be killed, this suggests the older members were keeping that secret from the younger Overlords. That kept them from wanting to go out and face the exterminators, as they immediately did when they learned the truth.
Of course it's possible that special weapons are.needed, just as the angelic weapons are needed to kill sinners permanently. The elder Overlords could hsve been keeping that secret.
Well the Exorcist was decapitated and looks like clean cut too, maybe someone hide and waited until the Exorcist got close enough and used a bladed weapon on the Exorcist and was successful.
I wonder what Charlie will do when she finds out about the exorcist death.
I think it was another Angel that killed that one.
So they have a excuse to speed the exterminations up and dont have to kill Demons once a year little by little.

I also think the one behind it would be Lute, Adams Right Hand Woman.
I suspect the Exorcist was one of her own since the severed Head has a stitched up mouth.
And the only Angel we see so far with not a teethy grin but a stitched up grin would be Lute.
So I think it would be a good deal to off a exorcist and in turn have more chances to kill demons around the year.
We see that they LOVE to see things in Black and White.
The life of one Angel to maximize the death of Demons would sound like a dream deal for them.

I think someone said it’s because when they go to hell they have demon like forms but when their in heaven they have more pure Angel forms but idk if it’s true or not but it’s a theory that I kinda agree with.
They have horns but that doesn't mean those are demon-horns. Even in real mythology there are horned angels. Th cherubs are angels w/ 4 heads, 2 of which are bull-headed n goat-headed, both animals w/ horns

the sinners being imortal probely decreases the chance of them fighting back against the exersists and jsut hiding instead beacuse they could live for hundreds thousands of years in the mind of a sinner bacicly forever and thus fighting an exersist would remove all those years of live span

I said main reason why no one has killed an exorcist before it's because it seems like most of the sinner demons lack the ability to fly like the angels. And if they could they most likely get swarm by them in the first place
I think it's cuz none of them had angelic weapons.
Like, regular sinners can't afford them and they are the ones who are left to die.
It seems only overlords and noble demo's can have them.
Well it most likely has to do with
1: Most Sinners aren't skilled enough as combatans to fight an angel even in one on one
2: Like you said lack of flight so the angels can get away against most but not someone like Husker
3: It will never be a one on one fight, more realistically like 30 Angels per Sinner all in a matter of seconds
4: Even with all the other issues I mentioned out of the way without an Angelic weapon a Sinner can't kill an Angel (Unless that's not how it works)

The only difference between the angels that were human and The Sinner demons it's where they ended up after they died

It had to be another Angel that killed it. I don’t think a demon would manage to even harm an Angel. Angels are just to powerful and strong for a demon to handle. So in my opinion it had to be another Angel. The only demon I can think of that could manage to kill an Angel is Alastor Lilith or even Lucifer which isn’t even a demon but A Fallen Angel.
I'm calling it now, Vaggie's the supposed dead angel.
In episode 3 called "Scrambled Eggs" it was revealed that the person who killed that Exorcist was Carmilla Carmine - one of the Overlord of Hell and distributor of the angelic weapons in the Pride Ring. She slayed that angel to protect her children.
Adam, my money is on Adam being the culprit, or the one giving the order, just because he enjoy the extermination so much that he wants more of it

I still find it hard to believe that, ever since the extermination has existed, not a single exorcists has ever been killed before.
Imagine we find out the exorcists can die from literally anything, unlike the sinners, who can only die through angelic weapons.

The main suspect is a overlord, I doubt Luficer would just destroy one exterminator since, for what is let to understand, he is depressed.
Another is that Lilith might be working In a resistance of some sort that's why she went into hiding, is also make clear that Lilith is not one to submit and give up.

The way that the Exterminator was killed aswell was a bit too clean aswell, i would like to say that it was Alastor, but i doubt he'd only rip the head off, but if so, we could notice that the head was nowhere to be found, so if it was Alastor, he would probably take it as a souvenir

I believe the angel could be killed because it was a SELFLESS ACT! It wasn't to protect herself, it was to protect others. She did it out of love. Which may explain why they're afraid of the hotel working. If the people become good, they can fight back. Good always wins, right? When the angels are the bad guys, they can be beaten!
Imagine if it was some sort or Feral or ROUGE Angel!? It’s highly unlikely but still a possibility, Lute states in the first episode (i saw from a reaction video) that “Angels don’t make Mistakes” I feel like that might be a hint at something upcoming in the future but we’ll just have to see who our Angel killing culprit is later episodes

Hey Cartoon Universe! I have an interesting thing to mention in episode 2 when they hire sir pentious to spy on the hotel, that was in my theory supposed to be baxter! I mean when he said he knew who to call, the sharks in the background have a similar color palette, and the sharks matches what baxter is a marine animal this could be a coincidence, but it's weird that they even added the setting as specifically an aquarium, IDK i could be offtrack here just a theory. He also has his own official pin despite not showing up just yet. It also could be a case of foreshadowing for later in the series.
Now we know who and why, but not how.
Because they don't want a war.
Was probably Alastor. He wants or craves Entertainment and what could be more entertaining than stirring up the conflict between Heave and Hell.
If Adam and the Exterminators are going to cleanse Hell of all lives, or Sinners at least, how are they going to do it? What will be the method that will gaurantee total victory to them? The point is that even if the Sinners cannot resisted, Luficer and his family can. And if they called upon the other members of the Seven Deadly Sins, it will be a war that may resulted in no victor.
P.S: I suspected it is something similar to the Rumbling. But that is just my guess, of course.

It could be possible that it was caused by someone who didn't really know what they would cause. Take Henroin and Angel's crime family for instance. There is a rule in the mafia about picking fights. " Be rational. Be a member of the team. Don't engage in battle if you can't win. ... The directive extends to personal life."
Understandably the Exterminations would be seen as "Bad for Buisness" for a Mafia family. Cause that means a period of time where they aren't able to do buisness, they have to see which guys are dead and need to be replaced, which associations need to be established and stuff. Henroin could be irrational enough to ignore certain rules because he doesn't see the reason behind them. Or views them more a guide lines that you can pick and choose how to follow.
One thing I noticed is that both Alastor & Vox's fight and Lilith's disappearance happened 7 years ago which I don't think is a coincidence
The reason why the mask is missing one eye is to refer to the term "To Turn a Blind Eye." That term is also translated as "To Pretend to Not Notice." Turning a blind eye to your neighbors is what they were doing.
Alastor very clearly got stronger in the 7 years because now, he can literally shut down vox and all of his connection in one gesture as we saw in the song. And that was without using the full potential of his demon form, which i feel like hasn’t been shown in neither the trailer nor these 2 episodes. And we don’t know how their battle went, he could have been ambushed or put in an area where he was at an extreme disadvantage since vox seems to have that type of intelligence. Being a internet console and all. I think the only overlord who is outright stronger than alastor is carmilla carmine. Aka the head of the overlords and the overlord closest to Lucifer and likely Satan too.
I dunno if she’s stronger then Al. Alastor doesn’t seem to care about power because he doesn’t NEED to. Al probably could become the head of overlords quite easily, but simply chooses not to because it’s boring
I have a theory that a fellow exorcist killed one of their own to present it to Adam so they could increase the annual extermination. My reason for thinking this is because their bored. In heaven they must be good all the time. Adam himself said "Extermination is entertainment" in his song.
Also they can only kill during the extermination in hell, since in Helluvaboss, any Angelic beings that cause of a Mortal dead is banished from Heaven, ie the Cherubs.

Damn 1 episode later and this theory was thrown out.
Well, there are only a few suspects who could have killed an angle. One is Alastor being kind of a powerful demon, then there is Vaggie who we all know very well is an angel judging by she has the same pattern faces as the angles shown in the first episode and her hair and especially her hair bangs look like an angel wing. So, chances are she killed the angel, and she is probably an angel in disguise and also is probably a fallen angel. The third suspect could be just a mystery.
TBH, the fact that the exorcists seem to focus on the weakest sinners for extermination so that they can kill even more sinners seems like a decent enough reason why the extermination hadn´t caused any casualties in the angels yet...
I mean since the Exorcists only attack the Pride ring, why would the truly powerful beings in hell (7 Sins, Goetias...) have any reason to be there during that time, and why would the most powerful Overlords stick their necks to save the mass of weak sinners?
This could be simply the result that after thousands of years of culling the weak the sinners and overlords in the pride ring have survived through lots of extermination and have already reached the point in which they can kill a rank and file exorcists without much of a problem.
Heres a theory and possible twist. The exsterminator that was killed could have been killed by another angel to give Adam a reason to bump up his exsterminations dates.

My theory is that one of the other angels killed him so that they could have an excuse to kill more demons
(bit late but) Seeing the cards at the beginning I noticed that we can see Carmilla killing the Exorcist using her boots, which are implied to be forged from angelic weaponry, dealing a swift and brutal kick that managed to slice its head right off
This was quite a surprise for me to see/realize and very fascinating to, as I have of course wondered exactly *how* she was able to do this and it implies that angelic weaponry, or at least some modified version of it, is in fact capable of killing them
One aspect of this that's of particular interest to me is that it's been stated that Lucifer can only be killed by an angel of higher power, so one would assume this might be the case for angels in general

Of course the imagery makes it hard to tell what’s going on, which is the point as that would be a massive spoiler, but knowing what we do now it’s hard not to see it as her attacking and killing the Exorcist

My theory but alastor actually killed the Angel to set up a way to ursup Lucifer or Satan to get rid of the pride ring since it’s possible Satan was the old ruler of hell before Lucifer and Lilith arrived

Did Vox _really_ defeat Alastor? I got the impression that Alastor just up and left, disappearing out of Hell's public eye for the next seven years before he showed up at Charlie's hotel to offer his "help" in running it.
Disappearing like that for a few years might be a bit of a stretch, but I can certainly picture Alastor doing just that, to give his (and I use the term lightly) rivals a false sense of security and then alarming them by his unannounced return and being just as aloof and charmingly infuriating and as terrifying as he was before he left.
During the song Vox and Alastor sang, I got an impression on the dynamic between them and felt they were a lot like Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny, in how Vox, out of arrogance, insecurity, and a narcissitc desperation to prove his superiority, tries and fails miserably to one-up Alastor while Alastor uses such effortless wit and expresses no concern or worry at all of Vox's attempts to knock him down and even winds up making Vox look like a fool without even trying
When one thinks about it, Alastor's medium of radio broadcast is indeed retro but also has an advantage over Vox's medium of television broadcast, in that Vox has to try harder since TV is both sound and imagery while Radio is just sound, period. Alastor presents incredible charisma and oratory skills in drawing in listeners with his radio broadcasts while Vox has to present visual hooks along with oration and other audio mediums to draw in his audience.
I can't imagine what Alastor's angle in all of this is, but I have no doubts he has something up his sleeve, a goal of sorts that we can only guess at, and leaves those around him utterly baffled, especially Vox. The TV demon tries to seem unworried about Alastor but anyone can see how obvious he is indeed worried about Alastor, not only becuz Vox knows deep down that Alastor can outwit him but also becuz Vox duzent know the full extend of what Alastor is capable of. Everything we've seen Alastor do thus far feels like it's barely scratching the surface, becuz Alastor duzent show off his powers all that much becuz he likes to maintain a feel of unpredictability.
As for the dead Exorcist... I have no idea who might be responsible for their death, but I rather doubt Charlie could be the one behind it. For one thing, while Charlie can stand up for herself if she must, I don't really see her as a killer unless perhaps it was in self defense or to protect someone, but even then I feel she would kill only as a last resort. Not to mention, if she had been the killer, she would surely have thot about it and immediately suspected it being the real reason Adam has cut the timetable in half for the next Extermination, and she would have blamed herself for making things worse for her people.
The other clues you brought up don't seem to fit together, becuz it seems foolish and strange for the Exorcists to just leave their angelic weapons lying around in Hell after their done with the annual extermination, so it would give Carmine ample opportunity to collect thz weapons and study them. She apparently has a connection with Lucifer, who I feel is the most likely suspect in the Exorcist's death but that itself makes me not suspect him all that much becuz it'd be too obvious and wouldn't make sense of Lucifer to just out of nowhere kill an Exorcist after all this time... unless he had a reason to, or else he finally couldn't take it anymore and killed the one as a message to Adam. But an unwise one, since Adam has decided to make the Extermination biannual now. As it is, I can't imagine it's the Overlords per se becuz they only rank around 5th in Hell's hierarchy, below Lucifer, Charlie, the Sins, and the Goetia demons. Maybe a bunch of them managed to work together (which I consider unlikely though not impossible, given the V's) and managed to kill this one Exorcist, but I have my doubts.
Not to mention, it honestly feels a tad unrealistic for this to be the first time in all of Hell's history that an Exorcist was killed. Not impossible, but puzzling all the same.
There's still not enuff pieces to this puzzle and perhaps there's a greater twist coming that we won't foresee until it's arrival.

For Vaggie specifically, I am assuming for now her Angelic Weapon was gifted by Charlie. I can imagine that despite being kicked out by Lucifer, he would ensure she would have an angelic weapon with her before she left on her own. All that is to say, is that although they are not impossible to get with the right connections, I do believe they are still rare and hard to come by.

I know who killed the angel it's Velvet search it on a video Vale did who killed the angel, and he probably killed it with maybe a sharp knife

This sounds out of the blue but what about Charlie's mom, Lilith. She's been gone for seven years, according to Charlie, and who's to say that she hasn't found a way to even the playing field against the angels so she can protect sinners, her people. It's also possible that she worked with Alastor and/or an angel collaborator too just to be sure that they can get the job done. Alastor "working" with Charlie might be part of his means of laying low until the time is right when Lilith decides to strike back during the upcoming Extermination.
I personally believe the exorcist cannot be killed by their own angelic weapons because if they could why would they leave the weapons behind if they’re only weapons that can kill them

Episode 3 actually confirmed who killed the Exorcist but it's not who you speculated but it's someone you mentioned (not spoiling it for those who haven't seen the episode)
I saw the first two episodes of hazbin hotel when they got leaked: the definite awnser is yes, the death of an exorcist is actually a big deal in the begging of the show.

Okayé, I don't think he beat Alastor even though Vox claimed he nailed him.
Since Alastor is a showman and doesn't care about power and other things, he probably didn't finish Vox off because he was either bored with the fight and is waiting for something more interesting, or, as he stated in the pilot, he lacked inspiration, which maybe prevented him from finishing him off in a way that would have satisfied him. Both of these explanations explain why Vox is so afraid and angry of Alastor, as he has seen how much power he holds. However, the only likely reason Vox won was because he didn't bother to finish the fight, which would have why he’s so obsessed to prove he’s better.
