  • Nestled on the west slope of Duthie Hill Bike Park in Issaquah, WA, Semper Dirticus is a mountain bike trail you don’t want to miss. Start off on a raised wooden platform and get ready for jump features that increase in difficulty as you head down-trail. Maintained to perfection by Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance volunteers, learning to dirt jump doesn’t get much better than this.
For intermediate and advanced riders who want improve their mountain bike jump skills lap after lap, Semper checks all the boxes. In the middle portion of the trail a narrow step down leads to a large hip, which turns the corner for a big and buttery smooth gap jump, a wooden step-up and an intimidating but satisfying wall-ride come next. No matter the season, Semper Dirticus is a joy to ride and a great place to work on your mtb tricks. Add in some some directional whoops and a slippery wooden tabletop and you’ve got it made.

Thx for the preview! For duthie would you recommend a hardtail DJ or a full-sus?

Depends on the age of your knees and your skill level. DJ is great for most things, full sus is way more forgiving.

Awesome video on a great trail! Random technique question: When you are jumping do you compress with your legs and hands or only the legs?
    Thanks again!

Great question! It depends on the jump. Usually I’ll weight both front and back evenly distributed, called pre-loading, right before the jump. Sometimes you don’t need to pre-load, it just takes practice to know when.
