Put the rolls into a pan that it fits into and touches the sides and then use all of the butter mixture. Yes you need napkins but using all of the butter mixture makes it soak down the sides and it tastes great. I use thin sliced cheese rather then the regular size slices and it all melts.

In the south they’re called funeral rolls. I make these all the time for UK football and basketball games. I use a stick of butter, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, regular mustard, and brown sugar. If you prepare them overnight and let them sit covered in the fridge they’re sooo much better. I only use 1 pack of cheese to every 1lb of ham. I’ve used the smaller I believe 9oz containers of ham and find them to be more than enough. Also they’re good with turkey or provolone cheese if you don’t have the ham or swiss 😃

I make these often; we love them! I always use different meat (honey ham, roast beef or sometimes whatever is on sale lol) and I change up the cheese (cheddar, Muenster, Brie, anything really!). I sometimes spread a little mayo inside as well and I top it with 1 bar melted butter, garlic & onion powder & worst sauce. Sometimes I’ll add in a little brown sugar as well. We LOVE them!

Sandwiches looked tasty. I always thought the recipe I used was the Kings Hawaiian one, but I guess not. My recipe has poppy seeds along with onion and you pour half the butter on bottom layer and the rest over tops of sandwiches. Then you put in fridge so bread soaks up butter, then bake.

If I made this, I'd leave out the Worcestershire sauce, as I am allergic. And maybe layer the Swiss cheese into 2 layers, sandwiching the ham in between.
I'll have to pick up some King's Hawaiian Slider Buns. I'm sure my family would enjoy these! Thank you for sharing this!!

I am going to try this though, obviously, I can't buy King's Hawaiian in the UK. I will use the whole 1lb of cheese, but put half on the bottom layer, then cover with ham and the other half of cheese on top of that. Then for the sauce I will use softened, rather than melted, butter since it will help the other ingredients mix more thoroughly. I look forward to tasting it.

Yep that's the funeral sandwiches I was telling you about .You definetly only need 1 pack of cheese to 1 lb ham and pour all the mixture over sandwiches and let set covered in fridge 4 hours then put in oven.and mine calls using onion powder and for 2 tablespoons of brown sugar in with the butter mixture.

FYI.. I’ve made these before and if you pour the whole mixture on top and let it set overnight in the fridge first they are so much better! They will puff in the pan (like an overnight French toast bake) & the bottoms and tops will caramelize when baking!! 😋😋😋

I think a mistake was made although it did look very scrumptious. I believe he should of added sauce to the bottom of the bun and then did cheese and ham another layer of butter then more cheese and ham continuing this way in a layering manner and before topping the whole sandwich with what was left at the end.
