  • Thank you for watching my video !!! I super appreciate all the views, subs, comments, likes and shares.
    This channel is mostly about making all sorts of fishing tackle; Jigs, Chatterbaits, Spinnerbaits, Plastic Baits, Airbrushing Crankbaits,....etc.
    Besides bait making videos, I also make fishing videos, underwater videos, videos of the seminars I do, interviews and product reviews. Every now and then I will post a non-fishing related video like wine making videos
    I’ve been making my own tackle for a long time now and I am always willing to share the knowledge. If you have any questions or just want to say hello, send me an email.... ThatGuySkimpy@Gmail.com

    Hey man been awhile.....john here from VA. Man awesome video...i got so tired of breaking hooks trying to open the eyes. I took ur awesome idea and switched it a tab... ive had many failures using the underspin wire form, so i used the spoon wire form HS 34 from do-it. I cut it in half and make a small bend in the cut end and using bending pliers make a loop and that loop connects to the hook eye.....super secure ...and crazy action .i prefer chatter blades with the bubbler holes. I believe keeps bait deeper.... any way thought u might like this idea ....Thank you for getting my brain box working with this awesome new way of making this bait

    You rather use the wire form or split ring to attach the blade?

    • @ThatGuySkimpy
      @ThatGuySkimpy  Před 3 lety +1

      Honestly like both ways. With the splitting It has a more "erratic" action. Directly to the hook i feel its a tight wobble. Both are great

    • @BassManStrikes
      @BassManStrikes Před 3 lety

      split ring works great and will catch fish, but it does have some issues, one being the blade is much more floppy and I have noticed it will get stuck in weeds more and sometimes take a bit more effort to get them to start vibrating. I used a split ring one this weekend and caught most of my fish with it :-)

    Hey skimpy I was wondering if you could use the swing head mold for this and making it not be a swing head? The mold comes with all the weight options in one mold and you wouldn’t have to take the time to clog the weed guard hole? I was just wondering if you could make the swing head take a hook instead of that wire form

    Another great video. After seeing your original one on how to make a chatterbait I got a mold and poured some. I absolutely love the poison tail and they swim awesome. I definitely want to try this tweak as I had some problems breaking the eyes trying to open them. Have you ever airbrushed these with paint?
    I painted a few spinner baits and they turned out pretty good after I dipped them 2x in KBS Diamond Coat.
    Last question have you tried making a spinnerbait head with the poison tail jig mold? If so how did they turn out?
