What I really love about Thompson Center is that ALL of their rifles have a match grade barrel, 1 MOA accuracy guarantee (they all shoot under 0.75 MOA on reality, even with the worst of ammo) and the fact that T/C gives a life time warranty with all of their rifles.
You really can't beat them.
I just bought one of these for my first hunting rifle for up here in Maine I'm super excited to shoot it
Awesome! Good luck!
Can’t beat it took 5 point buck other day with it
Thank you for a great review on this Thompsoncenter Compass I'm really liking your channel keep up the good work
Well done.. features shown and explained very well. Thx
Hey Brian...liking the new room! Good luck with the new toy; still waiting on my Vortex for the 45-70 Dark.
Thanks!! That’ll be a nice setup 👍
Really enjoying your channel , very professional and informative . I have a TC LRR in 6.5 CM and found that Hornady American Gunner 140gn to be consistantly accurate for factory ammo and worth trying for the price point
Thank you so much! Really appreciate that. Awesome. I've always been interested in TC, but never bought one. After having this one, I can see I will probably be adding more to the collection!. Thanks for watching and the info!
A number of people don't realize that the first generation trigger was adjustable. However, with the Gen 2 and averaging less than 3 pounds, that's as good as my Mossberg LBA triggers.
I am so tempted to get one of these. The lowest price I have found right now is $400. And I have a Vortex Crossfire II scope I pulled off my Patriot and also a couple of Diamondback Tactical scopes laying around doing nothing (because I changed to Vortex Venom on my .308 rifles.) And I put the Patriot in a Chassis, which has made it heavier. Possibly a better shooter. But I am seeing all kinds of great accuracy out of these TC Compass rifles.
How did you like your mossberg? I’ve heard about lots of problems with the patriots
Rifle looks pretty good Im thinking of getting one myself.
Mcarbo fixed my gen 1Compass. Shoots MOA to 300 yrds, Winchester Deer Season or Hornady American Gunner. Great design features, kind of unpolished - it is a budget rifle so that's ok.
Nice! I've heard great things about them
No doubt guys. I have more expensive rifles that I won’t drag through the woods. I got a compass 2 in 6.5 creed for less than $300. I gut the cheapest Boyd’s stock for it. It shoots light out. It shoots .5 moa with factory loads.
Thanks, one thing that no one is showing would be to take the stock of the barrel and show the bedding of the stock to barrel etc on the newer gen rifles... that would make it a more complete review because that is a major item to me.
I just got mine in 30.06 😉 I can’t wait to go on my first hunting experience 💯💯 gotta start somewhere right 😂 399.00 out the door 🚪 with a scope too I might add awesome 😎 deal for my first rifle 👌👌😉
I have the compass with compensator on it since it had threaded barrel etc took many deer with it get a good leupold scope and your good
REALLY wish they made more chassis for this gun. Outside of the Oryx one or the Boyd ones.
My TC .243 is great from 100-500 yards, perfect hunting rifle for my Wife.
Dumb question, but can you top load this rifle without taking the magazine out or does the magazine have to be removed every time to reload the rifle?
Is the tread pattern the same for the 30-06 as it's in the 6.5 creedmore???
Great rifles have the 308 and 270 glad I'm not the only budget scope user out there I've put several pounds of meat in my freezer with weaver a 3x9x40 Weaver Kaspa lol
Wasn't aware C.T. was moving into hunting optics, hope it does well in low light.
I'll definitely be putting it to the test and let you guys know how it works. Thanks for watching!
So after a couple months of using it, how you like it?
Just received my TC compass II In 6.5 cm ..trigger is badass. Gunsmith mounted and zeroed my Burris 4.5 x 14 x50:scope and muzzle brake
Will probably switch to a Boyd’s stock at some point, Paid $284 minus $50 rebate no tax or shipping. Scope was $189 cant wait to shoot it..Thanks KYGUNCO and TC
I have the compass with muzzle break on it since it had threaded barrel etc took many deer with it get a good leupold scope and your good
What caliber you shooting?
What is the outside diameter of the muzzle?
I have no idea why everyone is beating up on that gen1 trigger. I have a TC Compass utility rifle in 243 with the gen1 trigger and I think it's a perfect trigger, with a crisp brake at around 5 lbs and no travel.
it really makes you send it when you want to send it and not before.
I never experienced it. I do more precision shooting with bolt guns, so I am used to a 1.5 pound trigger.
My brother-in-law had a gen 1 and the trigger really wasn't bad. I think the gen 1's were a mixed bag...some good, some not so good. Also, different people have different expectations of triggers. Personally I don't want a 1-1.5lb trigger on a hunting rifle...not saying I want a 5-6lb trigger either, but 2.5-3.5lbs is about perfect (again, for me). I have a couple Howa 1500's and a Weatherby Vanguard for my hunting rifles and they're all excellent triggers from the factory. It's just one of those subjective things and you have to find one that you like the feel of the best.
A men brother, I got one in 300 win mag, with nikon buckmaster 2, two heart shots at 175, 145yrds. Love the heavy trigger. Awesome set up.
I think I got a lemon, is the barrel supposed to be flush at the end of the stock ? Mine has a 1/4" gap
Nope. It should be clear of the barrel.
No you should have a gap
Free floating barrel. Have you checked ur groups yet. Pretty sure it's fine. Suppose to be a few upsides to that system
I hunt and live in South Carolina to, I hunt 50-60 yards is that 6.5 ok to hunt with
Awesome thanks! We've got a test coming up at 50 yards soon with the 140gr Hornady ELD-M. Definitely loving this setup.
10-4 I’m wanting another rifle but was scared to jump on the 6.5 train
@@trellbradley4506 I think it will be ok to hunt with, as long as you don't hunt anything too large. I think it will be a great caliber for our deer because, from what I've seen, the bullet expands and dumps energy very quickly. Hoping to have the video up next week, so definitely check back!
Thank u I’ll look into one
@@trellbradley4506 welcome & thanks for watching!
I paid $260 for my compass seems to shoot quite well with round 130 grain bullets friend of mine says his likes the heavier bullets 140 143 147
Nice! yeah every barrel varies
Do more t/c reviews please.
Maybe one day
CDNN Special Sale: $289.99
Where is the shooting?
We haven't done any more with this rifle. It hasn't had the best run. Each time we took it out the bolt would hang up and got very sloppy.
@@buildhuntxploreupdate about stuff like that would be awesome!
Every time I see 6.5 cm in these videos I just move on to another video.
LOL... you lumped Riton with actual good scopes.
It's worked well for me. I've shot out to 850 with another rifle using their glass and it was spot on and more crisp than my Vortex PST
This or the ruger american? The safety on the TC is dumb.
I admit, I'm not a huge fan of the 3 position safety after having used it for a while. It doesn't have a very positive click so it's hard to tell where you're at
