So people requested a build guide for the character I used to complete the Hardcore challenge so here it is! Hope you all enjoy it and there is a download link for those who want it! Sorry content has been light, been busy with a lot of stuff :D

Man, Bahroo, Thank You SO Much for this save file! As a Mac user I don't have access to Gib and so I can't yet mess around with some of the higher level stuff quite yet, so I appreciate it a lot. Could you maybe do one for Claptrap, too?

I got up to 999 stacks on my athena when I was fighting an opha like 6 levels above me with like 8 stormfronts. With the kill skill that increases fire rate with maelstrom , it was like having that one shot wonder thing on at all times! Never mind my shields having a delay of like .01 seconds! Athena with an electric Rosie and hellfire is the best!

Thanks for the video Bahroo. I got really bored as a Shooting Star Athena around level 41 and moved to a full Nisha playthrough. Actually excited to play Athena again now and finish TVHM with her.
It's not only the build, it's also how you play it. If I downloaded the save file, I'd die in a few minutes because I always rush in head first. But thank you for explaining, I'm always looking forward to learning about the mechanics.

Wow, I went for the blood warrior setup where as long as I used my sword and got an enemy bleeding I was good. I would get a 60%
increase on health regain if I hit an enemy with a lot of health. Either way Athena is one hell of a beast.
To all who want to know, the bonus package in btps is in the titan industrial complex after you meet Gladstone and around the first o2 generator after Gladstones little area
Actually, all TORKS have a chance to drop it. I got two in one playthrough, one in the area close to pickle, and one in the R&D Department

The funniest part about this for me is that this is the 1st time I've played this game ever I picked Athena because it seemed like the character that would suit me the most I have instinctually started building Athena exactly like this. Glad to know there are other like minded folks out there.

great build Bahroo! my first attempt at the TVH raid boss proved useless but i re-did my skills, and i got an oz kit that had .17% damage for its 182 capacity really helped with the Ephodos skill was very usefull, and i had found today a Neoginator shield, and my new lvl 50 quasar...i was able to beat the raid boss in one go...tough but it worked!
When are you going to do a claptrap build?
I’d love to see a one life run with a tank Athena and master Aurelia to help her/get her some AWESOME health/shield regen

Thanks a bunch for posting this! I just tried this build on the Sentinel and it worked out awesomely. = ] Although he's kind of a joke anyway... I changed a few things though: I took the points out of Stalwart / Glory and put them into Elemental Barrage / Unrelenting. Also, I only used one point in Conduit (Celestial Gladiator gives it +5 anyway) so I could max out Gathering Tempest. This way, I was able to also get to Hades' Shackles on the CS tree. But either way, thank you sir.
United Front is good because the Aspis isn't complete immunity. It only affects the 90 degree area in front of you.
I heard a thing about the bugged laser buff to make it work. If you drop it and pick it up by holding E it will fix the buff but only until you log out, then you'd have to do it again when you get back in the game. I haven't tested it myself, since I haven't gotten an 3DD1.E yet, but some others have said it worked.
This build is great. Helps a lot for normal and TVHM. Haven't tried on UVHM yet.
Prism can hurt you as well, by this i mean damage output can be decreased by virtue of elemental nullification. This meaning enemies such as irwujia has corrode attacks when prism is active your aspis takes on that elemental which that enemy is immune or takes reduced damage. I learned this with the "raid boss"
Nice build similar to mine, but I didn't put as much in the Phalanx and got more of an even spread.
Also surely for survivablility the best lazer would be a level 50 Vibra pulse.
If you were lucky enough to come across a Celestial class mod that would probably be even better, but I like the minimal use of legs :)
I lucked out on a +5 to all 6 class mod and decided to go with this build, but instead I didnt put the two in Elemental Barrage and put one each in the top two Xiphos abilities since it made them 6 each.

Another benefit of Wrath of the Goddes and Clear!: when there are multiple friends down, the Aspis will bounce between all the allies granting them ALL Second Wind.
I was able to revive all three of my teammates in one go during the raid boss fight.
it's a smart idea rather than a protector class mod a Celestial Gladiator it is harder to get, but then you have guaranteed 5 points in hold the line and you can Instead of putting stalwart in point 5 (extra health 25%) 5 points in clarity of purpose (33% extra health(only with celestial Gladiator))

The build is nice, although I use the shooting star+moxxi's probe "oh-my-God-the-teleporting-all-over-the-battlefield-goddess-of-death" with the highest damage dealt in single hit being 411k...

I like this build almost everything. I have very similar build but with some diferences, instead of Lucid Gospel i have the Fridgia (30% ice chance) and a Torgue shotgun or AR to break them appart once they are freeze, my Rossie is Fire elemental (works well with Iwajira) and have a level 50 Vandergraffen, also I have a Bulwark and 3DDI.E Oz kit that increased my laser damage in 50%. And the Celestial Gladiator mod. Hope somebody tries this one, is pretty powerful.

No, the developers didn't invent the word conduit and even if they did that's not what an Easter egg is, it would be a reference
Wouldn't Gun Kata would be better than Elemental Barrage for most any build? I mean, I'm rarely concerned about ammo, and 6% extra gun damage is kinda relevant. Surely damage is more important than a little extra ammo?
But if the guy you're shooting dies quicker, less ammo is spent anyway, right?
First 5 levels I didn't even have a grenade attachment so don't understand the first points
Ancient Warrior in TPS it feels like ages before you get a grenade mod. Hell most of the time you get a class mod beforehand
I'm told the current workaround to the 3DDI.E and Bulwark not giving the laser damage buff is to drop them at the beginning of each game and then pickup-to-equip (hold pickup). I have yet to get these items but maybe you or someone can confirm.

Ceraunic Storm glass cannon is nice, except I wiped 5 times against Deadlift even though I was the same level with some great Maliwan lasers :(

Why is +Health a good thing in Presequel where it was a bad thing in BL2? Health gating is still a thing in this game isn't it?
wouldnt the celestial gladiator mod be a viable option as well since you get the smae increases aas you would the protector mod plus a boost to conduit or does the benefits from protector outwigh the clestial ones?

Strangely enough bahroo i never get the spikes on my athena shield and more then often it doesnt even load my shield, it loads the outline of it. Though i am playing on ps3.
Wouldn't the Frigita be a better choice for a cryo smg?

How do you get the eternal protector mod?
Bahroo why don't you keep the tesla grenade at a low? Doesn't it follow the same principal as a low level sniper for Crit Ascension stacking in BL2? I was lucky enough to find a level 10 storm front on my first run and have never unequipped it.
If I had a low level Stormfront I could see it, but I like killing enemies with tesla alone so I try and make it as powerful as possible.
Admiral Bahroo Im sorry Bahroo, but i must ask would the Quasar nade mode be acceptable as a replacement due to it doing shock damage as it draws iN?

it seems very challenging to do it on athena but if im going to play hardcore I will take Wilhelm or Nish
and btw bahroo If your using the Shooting star and its depleted you can get your health 100% with one hit with out the probe
I use the Vibra-Pluse and its actually better then the probe and you can all your health back

i don't quite agree with prepare for glory, at most i have like 2 stacks at a time
I personally didn't have issues stacking PfG since my shield lasts for 22 seconds, then again there ARE better DPS, this build is more focusing on never dying.

what are you playing at, I downloaded your save file and when I loaded up my game and loaded up you save file, I found it was a corrupt file.
Why not use a bulwark shield and a legendary class mod?
Clarity of Purpose -- you say extra health from it is almost non-existant, yet it is 15% AND 20% melee damage, while Stalwart is only 5% health more and another thing is absolutely useless if you play solo, which I do. Am I missing something here?

when I had maelstrom I had like 178 and it kept going up and down no idea why
Maelstrom decays faster the more stacks you have. It's a mechanic to prevent players from reaching insane amounts reliably (as the skill has no stack limit)

Quite funny actually, because since I wrote that comment I have gotten like 4 Celestial Gladiator.
