I always liked this song, then recently saw a very disturbing video that showed how much he was "groomed" by his handlers. It made me come back to listen. His pain is real. So sorry he wasn't protected, like so many others.
As a mother, I want to give him a big hug. I hope my Sons never feel alone. The things that happened to this human being while he was a child were so wrong. I hope he can be kind to himself and come out of his storms a stronger man that can help others who need it. 🙏
Same. When I learned just the minimum of what he's endured, I immediately wanted to hug him and give him the motherly comfort he missed. It's just not right that he's endured so much while the world criticized him- including myself. I think we all thought he was spoiled and acting out... but it went so much deeper than anyone realized. He is absolutely a talented singer and song writer... but at what cost? You can hear the pain in his voice and tell that he's really been through more than other people think. He doesn't cry, but he sounds like he's going to.
He has cried a fair bit in interviews. It’s heart breaking to see. The industry broke him, well more accurately neglected him which led to them only seeing $$$ and not caring or offering to help him. I was so worried back a few years ago you could see how he didn’t want to perform live and you could see him running off stage straight after a set crying and shaking. Imagine having all you know be people who only saw you for profit. From 13 or so.

People are there but for pity when all you want is understanding and you feel Lonely. Hearing this song while I was going through just opened the flood gates of tears. Somehow, it helped.

He is so vulnerable in this song. Just the rasp in the voice, the way he holds the mic the whole time. And even tho is so sad, it is such a beautiful thing to see. Feels like i held my breath the whole song, because I feel it so much. You can see how traumatizing it was and still his to him. This hurts my heart in a beautifull way.

As someone who has been diagnosed with major depression and a couple of suicide attempts i feel this song. Justin Bieber once you give it all to God that loneliness, he will turn tragedy into triumph. I went from nothing and now I have a job that lets me help people with drug addiction and mental illness. God works in mysterious ways.

This song has so much emotion, so much expression, just a GLIMPSE of how he feels, but theres MILLIONS who can relate to the feeling of emptiness inside, rich or poor. In his live videos i can hear thousands of people singing along with him and its sad to say i can hear the hurt in their voice, this song truly is such a masterpiece. Some people dont want a rap song. Some people want a song so they could he understood and relate.
