भेड़ें बहुत ही कोमल जानवर होती हैं और पालतू बनाये जाने वाले पहले जानवरों में से एक थीं। वे चेहरे के भावों को अलग-अलग कर सकते हैं और भौंहों की तुलना में मुस्कुराहट को प्राथमिकता देते हैं। भेड़ों की परिधीय दृष्टि उत्कृष्ट होती है। उनकी बड़ी, आयताकार पुतलियाँ उन्हें लगभग 360 डिग्री तक देखने की अनुमति देती हैं।
